Color Dare #33 with a Try it on Tuesday Sketch

The challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare this week is to combine 2 or more Close To My Heart paper packs--current or retired.  I used one of each for this first card--For Always (current) with Roxie (retired).  The Delight in Everything (retired CTMH) flowers were gold embossed onto the black For Always panel.  The "Thinking of You" greeting is from Casual Expressions which was stamped in Black ink.  A strip of gold rickrack (unknown source) accents the vertical black strip from For Always.

Here is the Try Stampin' on Tuesday #108 sketch:

I'm also linking this card up to Use it Tuesday challenge #50.  Their challenge this week is to use an uninked stamp (Delight in Everything flowers) and gold.

I wasn't finished playing with the idea of combining different CTMH paper packs so I challenged myself to combine 4 of them with this next card.  It's great for using up scraps.  The rectangles I cut on my paper cutter at 1" x 1.5".  I used Roxie, For Always, Elemental and Clementine.  The horizontal stripe is the zip strip from For Always and I embellished it with Almond Glitz Glitter Gel.  The "You're Appreciated" greeting is also from Casual Expressions Occasions and was black embossed and popped up from the gold metallic paper(retired CTMH) with 3D Foam Tape.  I used a Hollyhock marker to color in the flowers on the frame.  I used the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge (page 42 oval 3) to cut the ovals at 1.5" and 1.75"

It was fun challenging myself to make these cards!  I hope you'll be able to join in Color Dare #33.

You can use your CTMH stash to play.  Just link up your papercrafted item (does not have to be a card) to Color My Heart Color Dare by 9PM CST Thursday, 3/15/13.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week filled with fun and creativity!

Transportation Theme at Exploring Cricut and My Time to Craft

Here is my entry for this week's Exploring Cricut challenge called Planes, Trains and Automobiles and for My Time to Craft #190.  My favorite cartridge is Close To My Heart Artiste which doesn't have those vehicles so I chose a hot air balloon which it does have. The "Oh Happy Day" banner is also one of the coordinating stamps that come with the Artiste Cricut Collection and the "Birthday Greetings" stamp is from Just a Number which has a wonderful assortment of sayings that can be used inside a card also. The greeting was first stamped in Versamark and then stamped in Ruby ink and then Clear Embossing Powder was applied with a heat tool.  The sky paper is very old computer paper which I thought would fit as an appropriate backdrop for the hot air balloon.  The base of the card is Desert Sand CS and the balloon was made with Ruby CS and Elemental paper pack.  I used Silver Shimmer Trim (which is also adhesive) between the sky and base of the card.  A couple of small strands of black baker's twine attach the balloon to the basket.

Thanks for taking a look at my card!

I will be celebrating my 100th post as a blogger soon.  I am planning some type of giveaway but am open to hearing your suggestions too. What kind of requirements should I have to be eligible to win?  Please leave a comment below if you have any suggestions for me.  (I think this is post #97 already!)

Mojo Monday 249 with Life is Tweet

Here is a cute card I made following Mojo Monday 249 sketch. I used Close To My Heart June 2012 Stamp of the Month called "Life is Tweet". The patterned paper is "Elemental" from CTMH(soon to be retired) with Pacifica CS. The scalloped stripe is Outdoor Denim CS.
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card!

My Rock the Block Challenge--Day 4

Today's card features 3 of the stamps from the Close To My Heart Rock the Block January promotion which can be seen here. The paisley stamp and red circles stamps were applied over Elemental paper. A one inch Cranberry stripe was glued over the bottom of the card and then the greeting was placed over that. The "You Rock the Block" greeting was stamped twice with the inner portion done in red and lifted by using foam tape while the scalloped square was stamped in Pacifica. A Blue Sparkle was placed over the o in the word you. This was a really simple card to make. I'll be back tomorrow with yet another Rock the Block card. Thanks for joining me!

Sensational 60th Birthday Card for H2H and Card Patterns 137 Sketch Challenges

Here is a very special card that I made for a very special friend. The challenge at H2H is to use a number on the card and the sketch for card patterns is at the end of this post. The card is 5" x 6.5" and all the supplies used to make this card are from Close To My Heart.

The Art Philosophy cricut cartridge was used to cut the banner, scalloped oval, oval, numbers and dragonflies. (I LOVE all the things we can cut with this cartridge!) Elemental, White Daisy, Pacifica and (retired) Metallic cardstock papers were used. The white paper was distressed with Pacifica ink and sponged with Bamboo ink. Friendship alphabet was used to stamp the word "sensational" with 2nd generation Pacifica ink and then clear embossed. Blue and Green Sparkles embellish the numbers. I'm sure that Arlene will appreciate this one of a kind card--she's a great friend and avid stamper. Thanks for stopping by to check out this card--if you want to know any more details please comment below.
