FCCB Challenge # 203 Bye Bye Birdie

For this weeks challenge create a project with a bird. Spring is fast approaching and the birds are everywhere. I was looking out my window while I was making this card and the yard was full of birds. Lots of inspiration! I used  Cricut cartridge Happly Ever After for my bird cut.

For my sentiment I heat embossed Happy Birthday with silver embossing powder.  I made my background paper using watercolor paper. I used my craft mat to create this effect. First I used watercolor markers in green and blue. I just scribbled a few lines of the color onto the mat then sprayed it with water.  I then put the paper into the wet color, when I lifted the paper this was the results. I think it looks like grass and sky with maybe a few clouds. I used brown twine for my branch. The bird is on pop-dots for dimension and I added a black flat back pearl for his eye. I actually used some pieces of coordinating scraps of paper to piece him together. For the final touch I added a button from my stash.

Our sponsor for this week is The Robin's Nest.

So play along and create a project with a bird. Don't forget to use a Cricut cut on your creation then link it to our challenge at FCCB.

Thanks for looking and good luck

Challenge # 198 Sketch Challenge

This week at FCCB we are having a sketch challenge. The design team is also showcasing stamps from our sponsor this week Mark's Finest Papers.  Here is my interperatation of the sketch. I used Elegant Edges for the stamp shape and the Kraft border.

Here is the sketch.

I stamped the bunny on some white card stock and colored it with Distress Markers. I cut the image out and pop-dotted it on one end. On the opposite end I adhered a button with Honeydew twine from the Twinery. The paper I used is Kraft for the base and patterened paper with veggies and green-white polka dot from ATD, "Recipe Time".  I bought this paper pad a while back on sale somewhere and this is the first time I have used it.  When I bought it I was planning a recipe book, but I never made it.  The papers seemed perfect for this Garden Bunny stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers.  The sentiment is also from this stamp set.

Hope you will give this challenge a try. Link your project to FCCB and have some fun.

Challenge #180 Fall is in the Air

HI! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Still hot here, can't wait for fall weather to arrive.  I love the fall, cooler temperatures, football, changing leaves, and my three favorite Holidays.  You guessed it Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  All are great for scrapbooking,  as well as home decor, decorations and cards.  But most of all family photo ops.

Speaking of fallin' leaves. It will soon be time to be raking them into big piles. Here is my CAS card of changing leaves.

I used Create-A-Critter to cut the leaves and the wagon.  The wagon is cut at 1.00 and the leaves at varoius sizes from 1.00 to 1.50.  The twine is Cappicino from the Twinery and the button and flower are from my stash.  I inked all the edges with vintage photo (Tim Holtz) and used my bone folder to score the veins in the leaves.  Some of the leaves are glued directly to the base and some are on pop dots. I rolled up some the edges of the leaves for more dimension.  For the sentiment I free hand wrote it with an orange Sharpie.
I used kraft for my A2 size card.

Hope you join us this week for our "Fall is in the Air" challenge at FCCB.  Use fall colors browns, reds, oranges and yellows.

*CHERRY PIE*

Hi! Everyone. Here to post a new card for a few challenges. As you can guess my card theme is cherry pie. Here it is

To make this card I used my Cricut cartridge, Country Life.
The pie is cut at 3" and layered following the image in the book.  I used red and white polka dot paper from Echo Park" Dots and Strips" for my background and aqua and white polka dot for my pie tin.  The card base is blue with rounded corners.  I hand wrote my sentiment on the tag using a red glitter pen.  The twine is from the Twinery. I added red stickles to the pie to make it look like the cherry filling was ozzing out. The little recipe card is handwritten and attached with a red paperclip. I used red brads to embellish my tag and stitched around it with the red glitter pen. I also stitched around the card with a white gel pen.

I am entering the card in the following challenges
Shabby Tea Room - photo inspiration use red, aqua, twine and/or burlap
Die Cuttin Divas - ruby red

Wish me luck and keep crafting.

Cool Summer Treats

I don't know about you but I love popsickles during the summer.  My favorate flavor is orange. I've been wanting to use a new DCWV paper stack "Birthday Wishes" for a project.  All  the bright shiny colors inspired my card.

I used my Doodlecharm Cricut cartridge to cut the popsickles at 2.50". I used kraft paper for the base and then cut the layer in three different colors. The white accent is Glossy Accents in white.  The twine is from the Twinery, Lemon Drop.  The orange buttons are from my stash.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper, "Sweet Goodness". The background paper is also from DCWV.  I used a white gel pen for the faux stitching and accents on the popsickle sticks.
I think my popsickles look so YUMMY!

I am entering this card into the following challenges.

CHALLENGE # 159 MOTHER'S DAY

Hi! Everyone.  Are you having winter again like we are here?  The lows for last night and tonight are in the 30's. Really!  I will be glad when it gets warm and stays warm. Anyway I hope it's warm next weekend my brothers and our families are getting together for a cookout for Mother's Day. I am all ready with my card.

I used Counry Life for my banner cut at 2".  Each of the flags are popped up and strung with Blossom twine from the Twinery. The papers I used are Coredinations Lap of Luxury for the base and the patterned paper is DCWV Luxury stack. The colors really went together well.  I punched the border using a Martha Stewart punch.  The sentiment is a stamp I've had for awhile and don't remember the name.  I my have gotten it in a bargin bin somewhere.  The two white roses, my Mom's favorite flowers, are from the $1.50 bin at Michael's. I think she will like it.  She thinks I'am so creative because I make all her cards.

Hope your able to have a wonderful day with your Mom. If your a Mom then Happy Mother's Day to you. Join us at FCCB and share your Mother's Day card creations with us.

FCCB Challenge # 153 Spring is in the Air

This weeks challenge at FCCB is to include a kite or balloon on your project. I have used  three Cricut cartridges, George and Basic Shapes, Doodlecharms and Paper Doll Dress Up.  Here is my card.

The papers I used are My Mines Eye 6 x 6 Away We Go stack. I cut the basket @ 2 1/2' from Doodlecharms.  The balloon is also 2 1/2 " from George and Basic Shapes.  The boy is cut @ 2" from Paper Doll Dress up.  I used Peachy Keen Everyday Faces stamp and colored his face with my Jelly Roll pens. The sentiment is from a stamp set I bought at Tuesday Morning by TCP Studios.  For the ropes I used Cappucino twine from the Twinery.  To add dimension I used pop dots on the balloon and basket.  I think it looks like the balloon is high in the sky. I love the expression on the boys face.

Hope this card will inspire everyone to join the challenge this week.  Good Luck and have fun.

KIM

COWBOY VALENTINE

OK Another post for today.  I made a cute Valentine for a little boy.  I used my Paper Doll cartrige to cut the boy at 3 ".  The card is A2 size.  The papers I used  for his clothes are scraps from my stash.  The denim background is Jolee's boutique stickers.  The hearts are cut at various sizes from the Doodle Charms cartridge.

I used my Simply Live stamps from MCT for the words.  I was thinking of those little candy hearts that have sayings on them when I stamped them.  I used a red glitter pen to outline the scallop edges. Of course I used Peach Keen Everyday Faces for his smiling face.  I used my white gel pen for his eyes and rouge Colorbox chalk for his rosy cheeks.

The denim twine I used for his "lasso" is from the Twinery.  I wanted it to look like he had lasssoed the large heart. So here he is.

I am entering this card in the following challenges.
