MTME group post!

>> Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Busy busy busy! Well, at least i'm catching up! Next week my littlest one goes to preschool 5 days a week! What a joyful and quite 3 hours i will have in the morning! Granted that time will be used for work related things, whether for makeup, the stamp company or other design team related projects, but man, I cant wait to have that extra time!

Have you been craving that back to school time? Maybe you are fully in it!

I dont know about you, but i adore the change of seasons. It just seems like by the end of it... you're just ready for the change!

Well the new release for My Time Made Easy will be live tonight at midnight!
Today the design team is each making 4 cards to share using this months digi stamp release!

I decided to really dive into this change of seasons and focused on using the Happy Hallows stamp set to show you some different ways to use it and while it is fabulous for fall, this set it really great for every single season! I also decided to pair it with the singing silhouette acrylic set! Yes you CAN mix digi and acrylic! My cards are simple and easy to put together this round. The coloring of the digi's were all done using photoshot and under layer effects using color overlay and inner shadow when necessary.

Be sure to check out these fabulous design team members for more samples today!

My TIme Made Easy Group Post: For My Bee-Loved

>> Sunday, May 1, 2011

May 1st?! When in the world did it get to be May 1st!!!???

Today, My Time Made Easy has a brand new release! It's very springy and bee themed which is oh so fun! I love bee things which is incredibly funny because I am TERRIFED of bees. As a kid if i so much as saw one across the yard i'd run inside and refuse to go back out! But I still think bee decorations are cute. And I have found the same goes for bee stamps!

Not to mention all the bee and honey puns that are terrific for cards, and let me tell you, these stamp sets do NOT disappoint with fun sentiments!!!!

There are 2 new stamp sets being released! Bee-Loved and Bee-Loved Sentiments. These stamps are available in acrylic and digital formats. :D

Today the My Time Made Easy design team are all sharing 4 cards made with the stamps from this release! Here are mine! They are VERY CAS, but ya know, i kinda like it that way! Sometimes i think a card can look really stellar by being crisp and clean and still be quick and easy to make. Case in point with my cards for you today!

Be sure to check out the rest of the MTME design team today!

My Time Made Easy Group Post: For the Birds

>> Tuesday, March 1, 2011

I'm so sorry my post is going up a bit late! My photoshoot ran a little longer than i thought and after getting home and the kids in bed because they had napped while mommy worked... well... it's the way it goes huh?

If you are looking for my Copic Creations Challenge post, just scroll down! Not before checking out my MTME project though, hehehehe.

Anyhoo - today is the first which means the My Time Made Easy release is now live on the site!
So you can go SHOPPING! As I mentioned in my preview post, Lauren has done it again with a fabulous release!

Today each of the design team members have made a set of cards using the new stamp set singing silhouettes. This set is available as a clear polymer stamp set or as a digital stamp set and has matching cut files!!!

Here is my project for you...

I decided to make a little set of notecards for just about every occasion! I couldnt resist packaging them up in the Pinch Me template. More on that in a bit. ;)

So obviously, notecards are a bit easier to come up with in a snap because there is a little less to them. These stamps layer soooooo well, it was so much fun to create these little scenes!
Here are some closer looks!

I stuck with a similar theme on each card using the branch stamp (which is 1 stamp, i simply enhanced the color design with copic markers... soooooo quick and easy!) and then used different bird images and sentiments that are all available in the set. I used a scalloped border die over folded cardstock to create the notecard.

Here is a shot of just the Pinch Me Template....
Notice that I utilized some of the cut files being released this month to tie the template into the stamp set. Again, a little enhancement using copics was all that was needed to make these cut files looks WAY 3d! The sentiment is also from the singing silhouette stamp set.

ANd a quick shot inside...

Because with this template you have he option of poking the sides in or out, the circular cards had no problem fitting inside. There is plenty of room for envelopes, a small pen, etc as well. If i have opted to fold the sides in, I could have just made rectangular cards. :D

Be sure to check out these other fabulous ladies and their projects today!

A CAS is just dandy!

>> Tuesday, July 6, 2010

Hello! Well, my computer is still working! Let's hope it KEEPS on working!

Today I have a CAS (clean and simple) card for you! I'll cut right to the chase and share my card...

I can not even begin to tell you how much i love this stamp set! It's called Dandy Wishes and will be released from Paper Makeup Stamps on July 7th! Ok, so really i'm obsessed with dandelions. In fact, i'm obsessed with anything you can "wish" on. Stars, dandies, pennies on the ground, clouds (which i guess you dont wish on, but you dream as you look at them, or at least i do!) I guess i'm just the wishful and hopeful type! But even though i've always loved dandelions... they took on a whole new meaning to me when i had kids. Jack and I go on fluffie hunts often. We'll even stop the car if we see a field of them somewhere. they are so much fun and it's hilarious to hear what jack might wish for. Sometimes its to play with me all day. Sometimes it's that i'll give him "pink milk" when we get home. hahahaha.

This picture below has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I cant even remember where i found it now... I decided to use it as inspiration for my card.

Since you can practically feeeeeeel the softness of the fluffs in the picture, i wanted that feeling from my card as well. So i used fun flock! I also used a little gem for the dot in the i in the wish word!

Now head on over to the Paper Makeup Stamps blog to see what the other Paper Makeup Artists have come up with for today! You can also get yourself entered to win this set!

Have a DANDY day!

3 minute card and DT call announcement!

>> Tuesday, May 18, 2010

I have a quick post for you! Ok, so nothing is ever too quick with me, but this one has to be! :D

First of all I want to make sure everyone knows about the Design Team Call for Paper Makeup Stamps! The team and I are so excited to put out this call to add to our family!
We are looking for a some Full Time Paper Makeup Artists as well as some guest designer spots.
Check out THIS POST to read all about the call!

Next I want to show you a very easy to make 3 minute card!
This was created for a Make N Take at Funkie Munkie Scraps and i hadnt had a chance to show
it here on my blog yet.
For Make n Take night, the ladies paid $5 and got to do 5 crafts. We we didnt want to time or product on any 1 project. This idea is also great to keep in mind when you are mass producing cards!

Here is my 3 minute card...

I keep everything simple and to get the most out of the 12x12 sheet of patterned paper, i
cut the 12x12 paper into 4x12 inch strips. Then i cut down the strips to create 4 x 5.25 rectangles. This gave me 6 card fronts from 1 sheet of 12x12 paper.

Next came the sentiment. I let each cropper stamp the sentiment on some white neenah cardstock and then we punched it out using one of the Marvy Giga punches. Um...i think i need those at home. Man they were so fast to use! The bonus of using a punch is that you dont have to worry about stamping the sentiment straight. :D

The stamp used one of the sentiments from the new Faith, Hope, Love set
from Paper Makeup Stamps.

Now i do like a lot of layers on a card, but in the case of less is more, i like to still to do something to help the layers I do have stand out. So i sponged all the edges with a matching ink color (in this case, rose red from Stampin Up) :)

To add a little embellishment to the card we used some stripped grosgrain ribbon and a few pearls from Kaisercraft.

And that's my 3 minute card!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Once you choose hope...CAS card

>> Thursday, May 6, 2010

I am so very excited and tickled pink for what I get to share with you today!
Paper Makeup Stamps is getting a new illustrator!
Well, kinda.... haha! Lindsay Spencer did some "guest illustrations" a bit back right when I first started Paper Makeup Stamps. She couldnt come on as a full time illustrator because of some other commitments, but NOW she has had some things free up and she CAN illustrate for PMS!

YIPPPPIEEEEE! For those who know Lindsay, you know that she also has a digi stamp company called Whimsy Have. She is continuing to design for herself, her digi shop and vinyl for EAD designs, so dont you worry! However i am THRILLED that she is willing to share her talent with PMS and design things things that we can turn to rubber! Lindsay has such an awesome talent, I'm so glad that she's found so many ways to share it with the world!

Her first set is called Faith Hope Love. It truly is a set that was missing from the PMS inventory! it fits perfectly with the style, but yet it's different. Love it!
This set includes 5 different solid flower images that are like silouettes, but can be used SO many different ways. You can check out the PMS blog to see what the other Paper Makeup artists have come up with today using this set. Also included in this set are 3 awesome wordart quotes. They are a really good size, but not toooooo big. So they can be used both in scrapbookng and cardmaking.

Anyhoo enough chatting, i'm supposed to be condensing my blog posts, arent i!?

Here's my card...

Ironically after all that talk about flowers... i didnt use any of the flowers! But i did use the grass! I love that grass and can see it used for so so much!
I created by sky by using the copic airbrush. I had an extra piece of cardstock that i punched a hole out of to create the sun.

The rest of my card i kept CAS (for those that don't know what that means, it's Clean and Simple). Now looking at it, i wonder if i shouldnt have done a smidgen something else?
But again, i can never just leave well enough alone and I'm trying to perfect my CAS style.

So thats what i have for ya today! Be sure to pop back in tomorrow for the PMS blog hop!
And the challenges... and the party tomorrow night. Oh it's going to be fun!!!!

A CAS with MTME and making a faux bow!

>> Wednesday, March 24, 2010

That was a lot of letter mumbo jumbo in my subject line, huh?

Well after a fabulous weekend with my BFF since the WOMB and a lto of packing of orders for the mega sale from paper makeup stamps, i was just DYING to get inky! Problem is the to do list still seems to be unfinished. SO, i decided to fill those inky desires with a little CAS. What does CAS mean? Clean and Simple. I've never fully understood the term, but i'm pretty sure this card qualifies. Aside from the drawer that was dumped out half way thru the card by my little guy, and the puppy who needed scolded for piddling on my carpet in my craft room... this card took all of about 15 minutes.

My dear friend, Christi, has been all kinds of sick! The poor thing just cant catch a break!
I decided to use 2 of the new stamp sets from My Time Made Easy™ (hence the MTME in the subject line!) First i used one of the pretty flourishes in the Fanciful Flourishes set. This set of swirls has quickly become one of the favorite swirl sets ever! There are so many different size swirls and i LOVE that it comes with lots of different sized flowers, leaves, and things to go along with it! You can see here that i used one of the separate flower stamps to give a little pop of color to the swirl!

Then I used one of the many sentiments you can find in the So Sentimental set. I'm telling you, this set will have you covered! I inked the the stamp in versamark ink and then heat embossed it with some white. I love embossing powder, why i rarely use it i never know. Perhaps it's because this is the drawer that got pulled out and dumped all over the room that i mentioned earlier! Luckily, Gabe doesnt know how to open the jars (YET!)
I used the 2 of the new mega dies from spellbinders (the long oval large and the long scallop oval large) to cut out my sentiment and the mat.

One last quick pic...

I am bow tying CHALLENGED! Seriously, it's a darn good thing God gave me 2 boys! But this "bow" which isnt a boy at all is so simple to do and looks so elegant!

First i adhered a strip of organza ribbon across my card (thats the black) and tucked it under the mat layer. Then i adhered a strip of red satin on top of it and tucked it under as well. I layered 2 pieces of the same ribbon on top of each other and made them into a loop (like a big circle) and then pushed the center together to flatten it. Now usually my method of choice to secure it is a stapler. Very quick and easy and secure as all get out. But i couldnt find it since i'm redoing my craft room. So i took a very small hole punch and squeezed tight tight tight. It was enough to puncture the ribbons, but it doesnt leave you a nice neat hole like if you were to do it in paper. Still, since the ribbons were punctured i was able to easily put a brad thru them to secure my faux bow. Then i used glue dots to secure the bow to the ribbon already across my card.

So thats it! A super easy card with possibly a new bow technique!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Now to finish up that to do list so i can get even more inky later! Ciao!

Random post for the day with some VERVE

>> Friday, March 5, 2010

Ok, so i totally already posted once today. And if you are looking for my sneak peek from Paper Makeup Stamps, just scroll down. :) And i actually have a lot of crafting to get done. Like deadlines, stuff for classes, videos to edit, etc. But today is Verve's release! And they are partying all day with challenges on their blog and sneaks and fun-ness! And you know i looooooooove me some verve. So i just HAAAAAAD to play. So i did. ;)

The first challenge of the day was to create a CAS (clean and simple) card using something floral. That seemed easy enough! And i wanted to play with a copic technique i'll be using in a class later this month so i had the perfect idea and knew exactly which stamp i wanted to use for it!

I used Verve's Elegant flower. It's a "plain jane" which means it comes by itself and is only 3 bucks. But it pairs perfectly with Because of You (which is probably my favorite verve set ever) and grateful elegance which i dont own and i'm really really thinking that i should!

Here's a closeup of the flower...

Isnt it fun? I used copic markers BV02, BV04, BV08 to blend into YR61, YR65 and YR68. A simple rhinestone for the center finished it off.

For my sentiment i used onee from Here For You. I just love the fonts that verve uses! LOVE them! I stamped it out, then used the Labels 8 nestie and then used my copic airbrush (i know, i'm sooooo original from card to card... hahahahaha)

So thats my fun CAS card for Verve!

Now to finish up my sneak peek card for tomorrow. Yep, i have my priorities straight. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
