Compensation

We had dinner with friends over the weekend. They are about 10 years behind us on the child rearing journey. Their oldest son is just getting ready to leave on a mission and they still have 4 kids at home. One of their children told them that they thought that life should work differently. You should be able to afford to do the 'fun stuff' when you are young, full of energy and in perfect health rather than having to wait until you retire. In his eyes, by then you are just too old to be able to enjoy it to the fullest and it seems such a waste.

Well, since we are entering the years of 'wasted fun' I've decided that by this time in life, you really deserve a break! Not only have you been there and done that with many of life's challenges, you now have to face the reality of gaining weight for no apparent reason, not being able to lose it without engaging in extreme workouts and near starvation all at a time when body parts are feeling like it's time to relax.

Nope, I don't buy it... at this stage of life you deserve all the fun you can muster the energy to have.

Here we are...

As my grown kids have entered the world of blogging, I have become quite addicted to this whole idea. I am a confessed blog stalker but only in the nicest way. Wayne and I have decided to join the ranks of the blogging world. Not sure that we have much of interest to say but it gives us a space to say it anyway.
Our blog title reflects the life stage we are in right now and other than the two furry little yappers that live with us, we have only an occasional houseguest or temporarily house offspring that are in transistion of some sort. We have the greatest family in the world and love them all. We're excited to see what additions the future will bring, preferably not fur covered. lol
We will hopefully find things to post that are of interest to someone and welcome your comments. Thanks to our kids that have introduced us to this great forum.
