♥ Q-t Pie...♥

I'm so excited to share a few photos of our little granddaughter...
...our Q-t pie!

*****
This photo is one our daughter sent this morning (March 17th)!

And since we do not fly out until 3 weeks from today, I am sooooo happy that we have the technology of photos through our cell phones (although I do not have a "smart phone" and can't zoom in on my "simple phone"...my hubby has one, so on his, I love to zoom in on her sweet little face....and I love to play and replay and replay the video clips :o)

They have been wonderful to send us lots of photos and video clips since she was born, but I wanted to wait until she first officially shared any photos to other family and friends.

...hm...*thinking*...
on my blog, I call our older daughter and her hubby ~ Girly~Twirly & Dr. Awesome or Awesome
our younger daughter and her hubby-to-be ~ Girly~Whirly & Dr. Amazing or Amazing
our son and his girlfriend ~ Heartbreaker & Sweetie

so...my blog name for our newest member of the family...will be...

Bunny

This was taken the day she was born...love her chubby cheeks!

Taken at home...this was the first baby blanket that her Auntie Girly~Whirly had ever crocheted :o)

...in sweet slumber... Bunny has lots of hair, more than her mommy had when she was just born. and in another side photo they sent, you can see that she has blond streaks! Like one of the dentists in the office I work at said... "...looks like she went to get her highlights in a beauty shop in heaven before she was born."

I'm joining in with Ms. Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday 's  "Q" post...
& with Dandelion Wishes' Happy List...
Here are photos of our Q-t's at about Bunny's age...
They also had sweet chubby, chunky cheeks!
Top: Girly~Twirly was 8lbs 2oz  & 20 3/4 inches at birth.
Middle: Girly~Whirly was 9lbs 2oz & 21 inches at birth.
Bottom: Heartbreaker was 8 lbs (whew! thank goodness he did not follow the "1 pound more" trend! lol) & was 20 1/4 inches.

Top: Girly~Twirly (Bunny's mommy) is coming home from the hospital...first ride at 3 days old.
Middle: Girly~Whirly (Bunny's auntie) is coming home from the hospital...first ride at 2 days old.
Bottom: Heartbreaker  (Bunny's uncle) just got home & his sister's wanted to compare their baby dolls next to him...3 days old.

And here are some of our Q-t pies when they were 7 months. I thought I would share these, since I also have the art that I drew (as some of you may know, as with every piece I draw, each was drawn entirely with their own name) from these photos...and will share more completed art orders next time.

*****

& this week, my hubby and I are enjoying Heartbreaker and Sweetie's company, since they were able to drive down for their spring break.
I will need to catch up with my blog visits! Thank you so much for stopping by and all your sweet comments on this most blessed and amazing addition to our family.

Tummies and Toes

These are some past photos of Tummies and Toes.
...so much cuter, when they belong to babies :o)

This is my Handsome Hubby and little bald-headed me. :o)

Mr. B:
19lbs. 8 oz.
4 months old
in Hilo, Hawaii
1962
*taken from his baby book: @ 4.5 months, says "this, this", tries to do pat-a-cake. May 7, ...tooth peeping out of gums".*

Me:
about 5/6 months old
in the Philippines
1964

Girly~Twirly

About 4 months old
16 lbs. 14 oz.
Holloman AFB, New Mexico
1983

*from baby book: every time after laughing, she ends up with hiccups. On car trips, if you were crying, dad and I would sing songs and then you would stop crying. One of the songs was the Swinging Consonants song...sometimes we would end up singing more than one round of this song. *
(I learned that this song was from an original 1938 classic 3 Stoogies movie!)

Yay! For google searches: Found this on Youtube of the original 3 Stoogies' movie.

*We sang this fun song to and with all our three*

 Girly~Whirly

about 4 months old
18lbs. 11oz.
Ft. Rucker, Alabama
 1987

*taken from baby book: "....you would laugh and laugh when your sister walked around you when you were on the floor.. She gave you water from a glass, Mommy thought you would choke, but you drank like a pro and after that, you would get very excited every time you saw a glass!*

(her two bottom teeth broke through at 4 months old)

Heartbreaker

about 4 months old
Schofield Barracks, Hawaii
1990
*taken from baby book: "you scoot around on the walker and love to say "oooo" and your lips would be formed in a perfect little "o" shape..."when we say "pat, pat, pat...you would pat your hands on anything in front of you."*

*******

Here are some recent orders:

From a facebook msg: "... I will be putting in an order for you as well so depending on how busy you are you can just ship both? It will be a navy one, a friend of Kevin's is retiring on Sept 2nd, and we talked and thought that this would be a great gift for him."

This one is on its way to California. Thank you Lauri for thinking of this for a retirement gift.

This trumpet was drawn for the birthday of the son of a dear friend, who is my walking buddy (although it has been for.ever, since we have done any walking in this summer heat).  Mom chose to have the sheet music of one of his favorite songs, drawn in the background, with his name on the bottom staff.
From Donna: "Here is a picture of the song that Jordan likes to play. The part he plays all the time on his trumpet is measure 18-26."

I can't wait to hear his reaction to this piece and to see if he noticed what song it is in the sheet music. :o)

Thank you Leanne, for your email:

"My name is Leanne and I got your business card from my brother.  He is a helicopter pilot at Ft. Campbell, TN.  You had done a sketch for him of his helicopter and call sign.  I was wondering if you would be willing to do a sketch for me as a gift for my best friends wedding.  I have attached the picture.  Let me know if you have time to do this..."

Here is the piece drawn from her photo.

Email after her art was received: "...The art is perfect and looks awesome!  your work is amazing!"

101st Screaming Eagle and Ugly Eddy

The Battalion That Fired
The First Shot Of Desert Storm!

(No matter how long time has passed
nor that my hubby is a retired aviator,
we will always be part of the 101st!)

(the Screaming Eagle-101st Airborne Crest on an Army coin)

The 101st Aviation Battalion along with
-  the 101st Airborne Division-
The Screaming EAGLE...

(Stained glass that I made while we lived on Fort Campbell, KY).

(This order was for a promotion gift).

1-101 Avn Battalion History (taken from Comanchero.org)

The 1st Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment is a direct descendant of Company A, 101st Aviation Battalion. Constituted on 15 November 1962 in the Regular Army, it became an element of the 101st Airborne Division.

The unit was officially activated 3 December 1962 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. These dates correspond to the period when the 101st Aviation Company was reorganized and redesignated as a battalion.

(This order was for a farewell gift).

<><><>

By the summer of 1987, the battalion had moved out of old Hangar 11 and into a brand new hangar at Sabre Army Heliport. The groundwork was being laid for the upcoming Apache Fielding Program.

"Ugly Eddy" is the mascot figurehead for 1-101st AVN...on another Army coin.

The motto "EXPECT NO MERCY" was coined one day during this difficult transitional period in 1987, as LTC Thomas W. Garrett had his commanders and staff assembled in order to formulate a plan to accomplish the enormous amount of work to be completed prior to the Apache fielding. As the meeting adjourned, one of the company commanders turned to another and said, "EXPECT NO MERCY." The Motto stuck.

<><><>

In June 1989, LTC Richard A. Cody assumed command and injected his innovative attack tactics and maintenance management concepts into the battalion.

( This drawing order was requested from one of the military units for General Cody's change of Command).

The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) was the first conventional unit to deploy in support of the American War on Terrorism...

<><><>

So many changes after 9/11/2001.
These family photos were taken for our 2001 family Christmas cards. The years following, Mr. B would be busy with the 101st, for various short assignments and Christmas 2003, he was already deployed to Iraq.

Here are a few new orders that I've completed and shipped out.
From Hallie:
"Hi,
I would like to order an 8x10 size print. I know you've had a few orders for Toriis lately and this will be one more. I've seen some of your recent work and love it...."

Thank you, Hallie for contacting me to do this one as a gift for your husband! Thank him also for his military service.

Request for this image of the Green Bay Packer's coach Vince Lombardi:
"I was given your card by.....and I loved your piece you did for her! I would like to get something done for my boyfriend's...birthday. He really loves all WI sports, especially the Packers... Thanks!"

Audra, Thank you for thinking of this for a birthday gift!

This request from Jayme:
"Hi there, I would like to give one of your personalized sketches to my husband for his birthday...

Also, here's my idea. My husband is a HUGE basketball fan. I thought it would be cute to do a basketball using the word "ba-ball" or "baball" whichever would work best for you.  This is the best way I can spell how my 1.5 yr old says basketball.  My son is infatuated with basketball and my husband LOVES this more than anything."

Email from Jayme, after she received her art:

"Thank you again...I will be giving it to my husband tomorrow and will take a picture after that and send it to you.

Again, thank you. I'm extremely pleased how your sketch turned out and will definitely order from you in the future.

Also, thanks again for what you did with creating another sketch AND shippint it out to me 2nd Day Air. i apologize that this happened, but appreciate your professionalizm in how you handled it.

You have been fantastic to order from!

Have a great spring/summer and again, look forward to ordering from you again."

Thank you, Jayme for your order and your patience when the shipment was "lost" by the carrier.  I'm glad that the first piece was eventually tracked down.
