Free Every Week
Holy moley! SFist just put up a post saying they are going to feature five of my abandoned sofas on their site each week. They didn't even notify me in advance or anything -- I just happened to stumble across the post a few minutes ago. Wow!

Gallery Show
My long-time friend Dave Dondero, resident artist at Moraga Art Gallery, has generously invited me to join him as guest artist for a show that begins January 16th and runs through March 23rd. The reception will be from 3-5 PM on Saturday, January, 19th. Please join us for the reception then if you can, or make a point to stop by some time during the show's duration.

You Get Yours, 'Cause I Got Mine, for the Monkey Time

Another one from Friday night that I like. I was trying to keep the flash from making a big white spot in the middle of the window, so I tried covering it with my hand. I was pretty happy with the resulting mix of display subject and unintended reflections.

200 Yards
If you take a look along the right hand side of this blog, you'll notice a new badge with the 200 Yards logo on it. As I mentioned in a post last month, I submitted some shots for the most recent competition, and I was lucky enough to get one picked for the show. In fact, it was the photo that I posted in June. The show runs from the end of this month through August, with a reception on Thursday, August 4th. There are 18 other photographers represented, including the fabulous Julie Michelle and our GWSF friend Glenn Bachmann. Would love to see any and all of you local folk who can make it show up then!

The Winner

This is the picture that captured the Gold last night. There were a lot of good entries, and I feel very lucky to have come out on top.

The Olympics of People Watching: Barefoot in the Alley

Tonight is the reception and closing night for a photo contest here in SF called The Olympics of People Watching. I was lucky enough to be chosen one of the seven finalists, and tonight the public is invited to come and view all the submissions and vote for Bronze, Silver and Gold Medalists. Above is one of the ten photos I submitted to qualify as a finalist; there will be five more photos (all shot on film last Saturday morning in various sites around the city) on display for voting consideration as well.
To see all ten of the photos I submitted initially (some of which have been posted on this site), go here. After tonight, I will also put the five photos from last Saturday in that same set.
Wish me luck!
