It's Turkey Time

Hi all,

Hey, hope you are all getting excited over the new Ribbon Club Assortment  - Colors of Autumn Assortment - it's super gorgeous!! The colors are so vivid and just great for all your fall projects. :D

Well I want to share with you all a cute little turkey candle holder I created using these beautiful ribbons. I created one of these about 2 years ago or so but it was different. I used the same concept for the front of the turkey but used the rosette technique with the ribbons instead of using feather. I think he turned out cute.

So here is my little Turkey guy, hope you all like it. I know it's a bit different than the usual but I thought it would be a nice change. :D

To create the back of the turkey I cut out 3 1/2 , 3, 2 1/2 inch circles.
I used score tape around the circles and then got my ribbons and
started the rosette only going around half way. I then used 3D adhesive
to stack the rosettes on top of one another, in a layered look. I used my little
scallop punch for the front of the turkey's body. I hot glued him to the small
mason jar. I used googly eyes and cut a beak and did a snood.

I wanted to show y'all another close up of the turkey and the ribbons.
Here are the Ribbons I used 5/8"Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon Turftan Brown
5/8"Square in Square Print Satin Ribbon Kiwi Green5/8"Square in Square print Satin Ribbon Tangerine to create the rosettes for the Turkey's feathers. I also used the cute

Here shows a close up side view of the ribbons layered.
I used the 1.5 inch Brown Netting to decorate the mason jar
which I wrapped around the  mason jar and then wrapped the
I used hot glue to adhere both ribbons to the mason jar.

Supplies:
Really Reasonable Ribbons - 5/8"Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon Turftan Brown
Paper - brown paper, craft paper, yellow paper
Accessories - Glossy Accents, googly eyes, mason jar, small scallop punch (fiskars),

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my project. I hope you are inspired to try making this or put a new twist on it. Check out the Really Reasonable Store and if you haven't joined the Monthly Ribbon Club you gotta do it, these ribbons are just beautiful.
Wishing you all a great week and will be back soon.
Hugs,

Guest Designer....Carisa Zglobicki!

I am REALLY super excited! When I got the email from Bonnie asking me if I'd like to be a guest designer for RRR I did a little happy dance, I really did, just ask my girls! *giggle* They think I'm a nut and yes, they definitely understand what mommy means when she talks about Design Teams. Anyhow, I'm just so excited to be here. My name is Carisa Zglobicki and I have a lil blog called Lady Guinevere's Inky Faeries. I also recently started an ezine called Designed To Color. I love RRR - they have such an incredible variety of ribbons and trims, I like to buy sample packs with a little bit of everything and I hoard WAY too much of it so I am still hanging onto pieces of my favorite stretchy ruffle gingham ribbon that is just fab.

This month, though, when I saw the colors of the March Assortment, I knew I wanted to play with those and when they arrived, I fell in LOVE with the glitter ribbon. It comes in both the gorgeous coral and the teal blue. I didn't realize it but I used the coral glitter ribbon on both my cards - I guess you could say I'm obsessed with it! The patterns and texture in this ribbon assortment are incredible! I love them all and can be sure to be using them on many more projects. For today, I have 3 to share:

My first card uses the glitter ribbon in the coral from the March Assortment Pack. It matched beautifully with this October Afternoon Modern Homemaker paper pack I recently acquired. I know it's an older line but seriously timeless! I received some new stamps from Unity Stamp Co. & this itty bitty called Motherhood is a Verb was like it was made for this paper! I just had to pair them together. I really do love this card and I was thinking it would make a nice non traditional card to a  new mom but after the day I had yesterday, I think I might just frame it as a gentle reminder to myself! *giggle*

My next project I stepped out of my comfort zone a little. I have two little girls ages 5 & 6 and they are pretty girly - they love painted nails, playing princesses and ribbons in their hair. I had these clips lying around in my stash so I tried my hand at making some VERY simple clips. I used two of the pattern grosgrain ribbons from the March Assortment & I adore how they turned out and my girls haven't stopped wearing them!!! I will be making some more I'm sure of it! Might even be a nice way to use up those little pieces you always have left over when making bows. I don't know about you but I ALWAYS have odd pieces of ribbon lying around I never know what to do with but just can't seem to toss. :) What's great, is RRR actually carries a TON of alterables for hair pretties in their store - Here, TAKE A LOOK, there are clips and headbands and more!

So, that's what I have to share...Oh, wait! I said THREE projects, right?! Well, I do have a third waiting on MY BLOG for you - I hope you will hop over and take a looksie. I think it might be my fav. Here is a sneak peek:

I hope you enjoyed my popping by with some fun projects for you today. I am truly honored for the opportunity and hope I gave you some fun ideas!

Hugs,

Carisa Zglobicki

Using Ribbon On Your Stamped Images!

Happy Tuesday stamping buddies!. I really love this card. I wanted to do something different with my ribbon so I decided to put actual ribbon on the stamped image. I used my Really Reasonable Ribbon Polka Dot Ribbon. I think it turned out really cute and makes the cupcake pop! I just love the little bow on the cupcake.
Have a great week!

Tie a Yellow Ribbon Around...

For our Newest Challenge, hop to THIS POST to enter

(or orange, or green, or....) that old chipboard.... Ok, so you may be scratching your head about what I am talking about. Truth is I'm old! This is referring to a song from the 70's, and I am sure that most of you have never heard of Tony Orlando and Dawn or his famous song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Around the Old Oak Tree"- let alone even born then!! Anyway, that's my set up for my post, and I'm sticking to it!

This week I tried again to think of a new way to use my ribbons on a layout. I decided it might be kind of different to tie it around my chipboard frames. I really like the way it turned out too. I also like the way the staggered ties look as well. I have to say I am having to push myself to come up with different and unique ways to use my ribbon. I'd hate for you guys to think I've gotten boring!!

For this layout I used my adorable, bright and fun Swiss Dot Ribbon Assortment pack from Really Reasonable Ribbon. Of course, there are plenty of fabulous ribbons in the store, and this idea would work on an elegant lo as well using lace... Again, I hope that you have been inspired!
