Happy St. Patrick's Day!

All of us here at Really Reasonable Ribbon would like to say Happy St. Patrick's Day to each of you! I hope you have your green on today. :)  If not, grab a smidgen of green ribbon you picked up in the RRR store, pin it to your lapel, and you'll be good to go!

To get you in the mood for festivities later in the day, I'm sharing with you an altered project I made for one of my sons. He saw it while it was a 'work in progress' in my craft room, so  he actually thinks it was made for his brother.  What a sneaky mom I can be when I need to be! Grins!

I started with a wooden shamrock wall hanging I found on the JoAnn's website. I did quite a bit of work on it to get it ready to alter. (More detailed information can be found on my blog so I don't bore you with it here....) Irish beer labels, felt shapes, vintage applique, and flair buttons are just a few of the things I added to the collage.

Plain cotton blend ribbon was tied and added to the shamrock face, green burlap string was tied in a bow around the stem, and 5/8" emerald green gingham plaid ribbon is used for the hanger. I did add some kraft ink to the gingham to age it a bit.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! have fun celebrating!
Stop back and play along with our new Challenge which will be up and running tomorrow.

Snow Much Fun!

Christmas Cards are Snow Much Fun!

Hello, Friends! Today I'm sharing these delightfully vintage Christmas cards. These were "snow much fun" to make with the "Let it Snow" Creativity Kit from Polly's Paper Studio and fabulous ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Kathy by Design/Let it Snow Creativity Kit
I added loads of texture with stitching, red burlap, ribbon and trims. A vertical border was created with Poppy Red Satin Ribbon with Silver Edging. The soft sheen of the ribbon and the touch of sparkle are perfect for this card. And taffeta ribbon is so festive for the holidays, don't you agree? My double loop bow is tied with Poppy Red Taffeta Ribbon and topped with a bit of black burlap string for contrast. The black vintage buttons are threaded with Red Burlap string that I tied into cute little bows.
Merry Christmas Girl 01

I think this little girl and boy are sweet on one another! To pick up on the grey background, I tied a bow with Grey Plaid Ribbon. A red burlap string bow is layered beneath my vintage button. Here's a peeky at the inside of this card.

I love the way these pretty ribbons complete the vintage feel of these Snow Much Fun cards!

Naughty or Nice Tags in Pockets

Hey there Peeps! I'm sharing some fun Naughty or Nice Tags in Pockets  that I created with wonderful Red Burlap Sting and Canvas Corp Brand patterned papers.

I added some tinsel trim, painted jungle bells, buttons, ticking and lots of spacers between the layers to make them very dimensional.  These would make great gift tags or added to the front of a card or scrapbook page or maybe to label a yummy baked treat.  Naughty or Nice Tags and Pockets.
Okay that's all for me...wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Joy and Hope..

Happy Monday!  I'm sharing a couple of cards with you today here at  Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I have been  bit by bit bringing out my Christmas goodies.  I finally broke down and played around a bit.  I used papers from Raspberry Road Designs.  These are very simple cards using diecuts, stamp sentiments, and wood cut outs from my stash.  I used moss green seam binding, burlap string, sharon crochet lace, and white crochet lace  from this month's ribbon club.  I like the simple folksy look of them.   If I keep this up I will have a good stash by the time Christmas rolls around.  Hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry

Thanks a Bunch!

Hi friends.  I'm loving the crisp fall air of autumn along with the beautiful colors.  It's hard to choose ribbons I want to work with because there are so many great selections for Autumn and Halloween at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
This is another example of a Shabby Bow.  I created this bow on the Bow-it-All V2.0 using Brown Silky Crush Ribbon.  This ribbon is 1-1/2" wide, but I cut it down the middle to make a 3/4" width.  This ribbon does not fray much, but the look is still great for this card.  I used the helping hands pegs to hold the Brown Burlap String and then I tied the know of the bow around the string to hold it.  You can find the video tutorial for this bow HERE.
I also ran a piece of the trimmed down Silky Crush Ribbon through the loops of the tag and topped it with a piece of Turftan/Tan Diagonal Stripe Satin.  I love the brown, ginger and green color combination on the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  For more information on the other products I used on this card, please visit my Make Time to Craft Blog.

Trick or Treat

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!

I love this time of year!  Fall colors and autumn holidays are my favorite!  I dug into my crafty stash and put together a really cute vintage Trick or Treat pocket card that uses both burlap string and fabulous ribbon.
The adorable image and papers are from the Crafty Secrets Vintage Jumbo Halloween Kit. These sneaky Trick or Treat mice crack me up.  The playful feel of this card is enhanced by the addition of a perky bow made from Orange Sheer Organza with a Satin Center ribbon. I've topped this with a suitably spooky black burlap string bow, an orange daisy and some felt leaves.
I love using my Zutter Bow-it-All Tool to make these burlap string bows.  Here, I've added orange burlap string to the black, then fanned the individual loops out to make a great base for my jack-o-lantern button and spider web.  I also added a strip of the too cute to spook Pumpkins on White Grosgrain Ribbon adding more texture to the card, and picking up on the orange tones in the paper.
The inside of the card is where this party really gets started!  I've decorated the upper half of this top fold card with more Crafty Secrets goodies, then built a pocket below and stuffed it with tags.
Bits of ribbon and more twine really make the tags pop!  I curled the burlap string by dampening it with a 50/50 mixture of liquid glue and water.  Then I wrapped the loose ends around the barrel of a slim paintbrush and let them dry.  Voila!  Fun curlicue burlap string!
Here's a closer look at all those spook-tacular tags!  This is such a frightfully fabulous card to send out...especially if you tucked a gift card for ice cream inside!  Just like a party in a card!

Which Witch is Which?

It is Tuesday and it is hot and very smoky here.  Fires every which way.  Hard to go outside which I guess makes it easier to sit and craft.   I created a couple of witchy little confections for RRR.   They reminded me of the Scooby Doo episode "which witch is which".   I love spooky ol' witches....and what's better than an actual hat done up prim style and a sweet Victorian witch ornament.  I had this chipboard witch hat from last year...painted and distressed it.  I added 2 1/2 cotton blend ribbon which I wrapped around and tied a big chunky bow too.  From here I wrapped metal wire stars around it, along with a hand stamped tag tied on with burlap string in natural, burlap leaves,  a felt rose, and glitter ball.   My ornament is made from chipboard and is covered in Graphic 45 papers.  I added vintage black lace, 2 1/2 inch cotton blend ribbon in plain, and burnt rust seam binding.   I have my ornament hanging from black licorice twine.   That is it!  A little spooky and a little elegant with the black and white color schemes.   Hope you enjoy!  Cherry

Belated Birthday Card

Hey there Peeps! Today I am sharing a card I created for my BOLB Kathy for her birthday..which was very late : (  I think she forgives me though : ) This card has a gorgeous dragonfly and soft colors. The beautiful ribbons and trims are from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the papers and images are from Crafty Secrets.
Kathy inspired me to break out my under used embossing folders. I layered on a well inked die cut frame to add to the texture and dimension.
This bow is created with Turquoise Satin Ribbon and layered on some Ivory Burlap String.
I added a stamped sentiment with a metal clip.
Loads of gorgeous Petaloo flowers and coordinating bling.
Hope getting this very late card extended the Birthday celebration. Or maybe I'm  just really early for next year?
Wishing everyone a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative. : ) G

Dragonfly Birthday Wishes

Have I mentioned how in love I am with all the beautiful colors and styles of Mulberry Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts that we are now offering at Really Reasonable Ribbon?  Well, I am IN LOVE!!  If you haven't been by to take a look lately, head on over because there are loads of new options in the store.

I pulled my color combination from the image and used purple and light turquoise.  You never have to twist my arm to use purple on a card!  I used flowers from each of the sets below to embellish my card.

These are a new offering and they are available in 8 colors.

I created my bi-color double-loop bow with grape and turquoise Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon which is my all time favorite ribbon.  The bow was made using my Bow-it-All V2.0 Tool.  You can view my video tutorial on how to make this fun bow HERE.
Don't forget about the wide range of bow sizes you can make with your Bow-it-All Tool.  You can make bows from 1/4" all the way up to 9-3/4" wide.  I whipped up the tiny 1/4" bow made from purple Burlap String in seconds to top off my sentiment panel.
For more information on other products used on my card, please stop in and visit me at my Make Time to Craft Blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Saying Thank You

Hello to all of our ribbon-loving friends!  Karen Letchworth here today with a quick post using more of my Really Reasonable Ribbon favorites.  Life certainly has its ups and downs, and we all go through difficult times.  It's so important to remember, though, that everyone goes through these rough times.  We often get so focused on our own troubles that we forget to notice that others are struggling as well.  One thing I try to do when I'm having a bad day (physically or emotionally) is to encourage someone else.  It takes my focus off my own worries, and helps me to be grateful for all my blessings, and remember that others are hurting (sometimes much worse than I am).  We ALL need the love of others.  I made this card to say THANK YOU to someone who, despite her own struggles, always takes time to encourage me (and others).  It's important to say THANK YOU to people for the things they do.  That's one of the many things I LOVE about Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Their sweet ribbons, laces, trims, flowers and embellishments make it so easy to create a sweet card to thank someone.
I created this card using some old Making Memories patterned paper, a doily, a grungy prim tag, and several great products from Really Reasonable Ribbon including their sweet Helen White Crochet Lace, Pink Aster Seam Binding, Teal Seam Binding, Raspberry Seam Binding, Pink Burlap String, Moss Green Jumbo Leaves Trim, Cream Seam Binding, as well as some of Really Reasonable Ribbon's GORGEOUS mulberry flowers including their Open Roses in Pink and Open Roses in Baby Blue.  I also included a lovely Wild Orchid Crafts Spiral Stamen in White, and these are such lovely accents that come in several colors and add a really lovely touch to your cards.  They've been recently restocked, so now is a good time to purchase some in every brilliant color they carry.  All of Really Reasonable Ribbon's awesome products work together to help create the most lovely cards, and you will never be disappointed with your choices.
We'd also love to have you play along in our challenge.  Please stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to see all the fabulous ribbons, trims, laces, flowers and more; and treat yourself to something fun.  There's sure to be something PERFECT for your next project.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a blessed week.
Karen

Burlap like you have never seen it before! By Jenn Cochran

Hi everyone!  Hope you all are ready for a super crafty week.  Today I have a fun card using Really Reasonable Ribbon's Burlap String to accent my bubble background card.
I have used the Burlap String in orange.  I wrapped it several times around the middle of the card.  Then I used the Bow It All 2.0 to create a multi-loop bow.  I love how the orange popped off the turquoise background.

Here is my Tell All Video on how to create a bubble background with alcohol markers.

Thank you so much for looking and visiting the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog.  Don't forget to join in on our current challenge: black and white plus one additional color or you can also use and image.
