it might be spring at my house--finally. But, shhh don't say anything, I wouldn't want to jinx it and send spring scampering away with Mr. Frosty Winter taking its place.
I love this kind of weather. I love the warm, but not hot, sunshine and the breeze that still has a little bite in it, but not enough to make it cold.
We planted our garden seeds last night in these little peat pods. I'm not much of a gardener, actually I have a black thumb, but we'll see if these little doodads work or not. We have a shorter growing season here in CO--not quite enough time to get so many tomatoes I get sick of them. We usually get enough tomatoes to whet our appetites for garden produce and then it freezes. Or the goats eat them. Or the dog digs them up.
I'm so looking forward to warm weather after a long and cold winter. I can almost taste fresh tomatoes . . . almost.

Spring is Here . . . Almost
The other day my kids asked if they could jump on the trampoline (I had to ask them to not shorten that to "jump on the tramp"). Since it was such a beautiful, warm day, I allowed them to go outside and jump even though they hadn't quite finished their chores. Unfortunately, my daughter trusted the weather too much and left her tennis shoes outside overnight. The next morning, her shoes were filled with snow.
The weather has been teasing us. A few days ago we had a couple of warm days filled with lots of sunshine. Then, wham, we woke up to snow and freezing temperatures. We like to say here in Colorado, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a day and it will change." So true.
At this time of year I never know if I should have my kids wear their winter coats or sweatshirts to school.
I love spring. I love to see the leaves beginning to bud on the trees and the grass greening up. I love the warm breezes and smells that float through the air. I can never decide which season I like best, but right now, it's definitely spring!

Popcorn Popping?
When I looked out the window this morning, what did I see? Well, it sure wasn't popcorn popping on the apricot tree, I can tell you. Nope. It was snow. Again.
The car was covered, the ground was covered, and the roads were a sheet of ice this morning. My daughter had no idea it was going to snow so she was wearing high heels for school today. I told her she shouldn't wear them because she'd end up falling and breaking something and we've already done the broken nose with accompanying surgery for this year.
The wind is howling and another snow storm is expected this evening. I'm thinking someone forgot it was supposed to be spring. You know, with tulips blooming and a warm, soft breeze, easing us into summer.
Now, I know we need moisture and all of this snow has been a good thing, but come on, it's April, well past spring. Where's that nice warm weather?
