Erich Palmquist was a captain of fortifications on Swedish service. In 1673-1674 he was a member of Swedish embassy to Russia. When he returned to Sweden, he made an account of Russian State which included 53 drawings & 16 map & charts. Now this album is available on-line on Riksarkivet site (link).

"Nec Pluribus Impar" was a great web-magazine focusing on the military history of 1650-1750s. It was lead by Jean-Louis Vial in 1998-2006s. Materials for the magazine were supplied by well-known experts like Partice Menguy, Jean Cerino Badone, Gian Carlo Boeri, Roberto Vela & many others. The magazine's archive is available here: (link). It contains a great stuff of the various materials on military matters.

Famous 10-volumes research "Bidrag Til Den Store Krigs Historie" by Danish Generalstaben is now available on-line (link). It contains the detailed account of Danish participation in the Great Northern war 1700-1721:

Gallica (Bibliotheque nationale de France) puts in a free access the albume called "Les Triompes de Louis le Grand" (link). It contains 75 plates with 150 flages captured by French during the reign of Louis XIV.

Swedish State Archive (Riksarkivet) put in the web a large part of its collection, including the War Archive (Krigarkivet).

Swedish King Karl XI decided in 1677 to make images of all Swedish trophied colours & standards as a sign of great Swedish victories. The work was commissioned to Olof Hoffman. He made about 2.000 of drawings in 1677-1709, which were originally grouped into 20 volumes. They were stored in Armemuseum in Stockholm. Now about a half of them is digitized & available on-line on Digital Museum site (link)!!!!  The current part includes Austrian, Bavarian, Danish, Brandenburg & Danish colours. The East-European colours (Russian, Polish-Lithuanian, Cossacks, etc.) haven't yet digitized...
