Madelyn has been wanting to go the Melting Pot for a while now. Jason and I have been a couple times and have told her about it. I decided when she turned 8, it would be a fun "grown up" experience for her. The night before her birthday just the three of us went out and had a wonderful time. She had so much fun cooking her food and discovered her new found love of shrimp! The chocolate fondue was amazing - they really made it special for her with balloons, fancy cut up strawberries and a card.
Jason and I had a wedding the night of her actual birthday, so she got to celebrate again with my parents, grandparents and her cousins at my parents house. She is one blessed girl!

Dear Madelyn,
What a joy you are! Mommy and Daddy love you so much. I can remember so well eight years ago when you were born. I had no idea what to do with you but loved you so much. Thankfully you taught us how to be good parents! You are a wonderful big sis to Caroline and Silas. You are helpful (most of the time)! : ) You have inherited my messiness and for that I am sorry. You are super creative and love piano and ballet. You really excelled this year in school after somewhat of a rough first grade year. Mrs. S was the perfect teacher for you and you loved her so much. You are always willing to give me back rubs and foot rubs which I love! Every night when we pray, I rub your back - it's our tradition. You are becoming such a beautiful young lady, both inside and out. I am so thankful God gave you to us! We are so blessed to be your parents.
Love,
Mommy
