God's Faithfulness to me! (17 - 22 January 2010)
I was feeling burdened. With 6 projects left, and 3 due in the coming week. The preparations for the Installation were still underway and the fact that exams were coming in 3 weeks time made it all so overwhelming.
Thus, after the message in Youth Service, I asked Zach to pray for me that I would not take on my new appointment as President of A-Team by my own strength, and for God to sustain me through the week!
Monday, 18 January 2010:
I read Jeremiah 36 - 40. I asked God to help me to see the bigger picture and live for God's purposes, not mine. I had a presentation on Managing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) in a form of an individual group business proposal to the lecturer where the right venue selection was very important. Many groups had their venues questioned, but i thank God that we managed to justify ours! It was a great start to the completion of the first project.
Tuesday, 19 January 2010:
Due to the stress of the Installation preparation and the other projects due, I decided to get up extra early to finish up a report. But when I woke up, I felt uneasy and decided to do my quiet time first. At 7.41am, I read Jeremiah 41 - 45. I realized that God had already revealed to me the desires of His heart. Yet, I chose to rely on my own strength. I repented and asked God to teach me to trust Him with all my heart.
When I let God take over, I could see from the rehearsal that the Installation was starting to take shape. Even though it wasn't perfect, it was much better that I expected.
Wednesday, 20 January 2010:
I woke up bright and early again. Today was the day for the actual Installation Ceremony. I had diarrhoea 3 times! My heart was anxious. But then Tanya told me that when God's people want to do great things for Him, the devil would try to deter us from achieving it. So she told me to believe that God was in control and that I would be fine soon.
At 7.30am, I wrote in my prayer journal and prayed for the complete healing and restoration of my body. I asked God for a spirit of confidence that I would be able to lead the A-Team to pull off a great Installation Ceremony! I prayed that my speech would be filled with God's presence (even though I could not mention "God") and committed the whole Installation into God's hands!
The time had come. God helped me to remain calm through the last-minute preparations. My diarrhoea was gone! It was a nervous start to the Installation as I did not know what would actually happen in the end. But from the overwhelming entrance, to the amazing dance, things started to show a brighter side. It got even better! The videos were memorable, the passiing down ceremony was unique, and the theme song was so inspiring. I believe many were touched through my speech too! Praise God!!!
Thursday, 21 January 2010:
It was another great morning. At 9.26am, I got up to read my Bible and to praise God for the amazing things that happened the night before! Also, today was another important presentation for ICT. Eugene who was in my group helped a lot by pushing me really hard to select the right surveillance system to research on, despite my "stress" during the Installation period. But I'm glad that he did, as we managed to showcase our findings quite well too!
Friday, 22 January 2010:
It was finally the last day of the work week. And today was also the last project assignment due within the week! This required us to prepare a skit about Human Resource Management (HRM) in NTUC Fairprice! Thank God for such an amazingly bonded and creative group that we could present our project in unity! It was awesome!!
OVERALL, I just want to thank God for showing me His faithfulness in the whole week! It just amazed me to see how God can bless us with so much good in our lives if only we learn to trust in Him fully and put Him as our first priority! This week has been especially memorable and it is an amazing testimony of God's grace and favour in my life!
AMEN!!!

) 0 _ - = + p { [ } ] ; : ' " / ?
It has been ages since I last posted something!
Anyways, today is a very happy day for me! Let me explain why!
Slightly over a month ago, my laptop's keyboard suddenly malfunctioned, causing several keys to become unusable! The cause of the malfunction was unknown, but it definitely brought much inconvenience to me!
Here are the keys that stopped working:
) 0 _ - = + p { [ } ] ; : ' " / ?
Yes, i know! How can anyone survive without these important keys!!! Well, i'm glad to say that I did! But it wasn't all that easy from the start!
At first, i was left frustrated when i kept pressing empty keys which resulted in me typing many incomplete words as I was trying to use MSN! Furthermore, it was during a period of time where i really needed my laptop to complete my school projects!
Fortunately for me, I discovered a HP Windows Vista default: The On-Screen Keyboard!
This has been my life saver for the past month! But, it was an interesting phase that I had been through - type then click, type then click! You see. Whenever I arrived at a missing key whilst I was typing, I had to refer to the On-Screen Keyboard to click for it!
My friends and family were all so amused by it! They even laughed at me saying, "No wonder you're not playing Typing Maniac on Facebook!" That's because I will definitely keep losing! Haha!
BUT. Just minutes ago, as I was chatting on MSN, I accidentally pressed the letter "p" on my keyboard. To my surprise, the "p" actually appeared where I wanted it to be!!! I was so shocked!!! I can't believe that it just... WORKED!
After weeks of torture and frustration trying to type what I want, and going to the HP customer service center in Alexandra in an attempt to have it fixed, but only returning home in disappointment knowing that my warranty had ended and that it would cost me $161.65 to fix it - it finally just worked on its own! WOO HOO!~
I'm really happy! That's why I decided to blog about it immediately!! This experience definitely taught me to treasure the letter "P" as I realised how often I had to use it in "proposals", "camps", "prepare", "photos", "NYP", "polytechnic", "project" and many other "important" words!!!
Thank God for this miracle!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!
WOW! it has been an awesome start to 2009! on new year's eve, i just thought that i would be simply celebrating the new year at home with my family...
but at around 8pm, i got a msg from jiangwei to countdown with the bbsgb people! i was with jiangwei, ben tan, shawn, yiting, joshua, gregory, christopher, yongjie, weili, keqin & zhengjie at the Marina barrage to watch the awesome fireworks - marking the start of a brand new year!!!
after that, we bought drinks at starbucks together and toasted to the new year (and the end of a very successful BBSGB!) We waited until clifford, gavin, julius, eddie and some other friends to arrive before we walked to seah street to play pool at pool fusion! There, we met kelvin & baoling who joined us! (:
we had much fun & fellowship playing together... but at around 330am, we left the place and walked to bugis mac for breakfast at 430am! we ate heartily and i enjoyed every single bite! having eaten our breakfast, we strolled and sang our way back to city hall mrt! we had to wait for the station to open and for the trains to start! by then, it was almost 7am!
after saying our good-byes, we left for our own platforms and slept through our ride back to bishan. i rushed home asap and had a quick shower! i fell asleep as soon as my head touched my pillow (:
overall, my new year was quite awesome and i was glad to spend it with my new BBSGB friends! here are some photos of the whacky bunch:~

anyways, here are some new year resolutions for 2009!
- To follow God's ways more closely everyday, living a pure and holy life!
- To challenge myself to seize new opportunities given to me, making sure that my best is put in at all times!
- To make a conscious effort to share God's love with my classmates so that they too may see and know the purpose of their life!
- To grow to be more prominent as a leader in the Boys' Brigade and to leave a legacy of love and hope to all who i will meet!
- To transform FISH & CO. to become a cell group that truly longs to shine for Jesus!
- To excel in my studies through sheer will and determination to achieve good results!
God bless all my prayers & happy new year 2009!!! :D

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
ME-rry ChRiStMaS everyone!!! (:
Well, it has been a great few days before Christmas Day! Last Thursday, I helped to organize our class' first-ever Christmas party cum BBQ at Jonathan's place! It was a great time of fun and fellowship through games and random activities! (I'm still waiting for photos from mel!)
Then on Friday, a group of us Primers helped out for the BBSGB CEO Car Flag Off! It was a cool event where CEOs from Jetstar Asia, CapitaLand Finance, Charles & Keith, and many others who personally came down to deliver some PA bags in their cool cars!
After that, I went to attend the A-Team Christmas Party aka 'Red Carpet Glamour' in the evening! Here are some photos from the awesome night!

[More photos HERE!!]
WOW! Then from Saturday onwards, I've been involved in my BBSGB shift doing Delivery duties! I made at least 4 Delivery trips each day! During breaks, I had fun helping out in the warehouse! Because we had to go down to HQ almost every day, Jun Ning came to stay over at my place for a few nights...
It was really tiring serving in the BBSGB during this period. But at the same time, I had fun and got to know other Primers even better! Besides that, I've also learnt more about the spirit of volunteerism! Within my means as a Primer in charge of the delivery lorry, I had the opportunity to lead and educate the boys who went out with me on the deliveries! This experience has made my holiday more than I could have ever imagined!
On Christmas eve, I had lunch with mum and the 3 of us at Sakae Sushi. We enjoyed the food and fellowship there and continued for dessert over cakes and hot chocolate drinks at The Coffee Bean! After which, I joined some of the guys at Heng Yong's place for an afternoon of Mahjong (using chips)! ZJ & I won $15.40 (in chips)! YAY!
Well, tomorrow's the last day of SGB for me! I hope to finish it well and properly hand my job over to the next Delivery Primer! May God take control of everything! I believe that this will be an awesome december holiday!!!SERIOUS?! Really?! 不会吧。。。那里可能?!

Primers Challenge 2008!
We had lunch at the Zion Riverside food centre before gathering back at BBHQ for the briefing. The brigade president said a few words to encourage us to challenge ourselves during the trip. Then, we did some self-introductions to get to know a little bit about each other. We split up into our groups. I was with Jun Ning, Yvonne, Benjamin and Sherman. After a quick prayer for safety, the Primers Challenge began!
We had some tasks to complete before we could receive our next clue. We had to form a square with several pieces of shapes & Jun Ning also completed a sudoku puzzle. Then we made our way to the train station! We ran to Tiong Bahru MRT and took the train to Tanjong Pagar. Then from there, we got directions from a lady who walked with us to her office building before directing us straight towards the KTM train station!
We had a briefing from the expedition instructor, Sue, before boarding the train towards Pahang! It was a solid 7-hour train journey and we arrived slightly after 1am. We made our way to our hotel where we spent the night.
The next morning, we had roti prata and milo for breakfast at a nearby coffee shop. Then, we cleared from the hotel and took a 1-hour bus ride towards our new campsite - an empty cave with ready made tents!
Finally, it was time for adventure caving! We spent 3-hours enduring leech bites, scaling rock formations and visiting the bats cave, 'turtle' cave and 'snake' cave (with only the bats cave that really had bats living in it)! It was tiring, scary, yet awesome experience to me! I felt a sense of accomplishment after completing the whole trek!
After having lunch at the campsite, we headed back out for a short 1-hour visit to the 'moonlight' cave. Then, we collected firewood and dry leaves for the campfire. Our group was to be in charge of the campfire. So we stayed to plan out and set up the campfire while the rest of the primers went back to the campsite.
Unfortunately, by dinner, it started to rain. So we had to return back to the cave and make do with a 'torchlight' campfire. Yvonne & I led the campfire, which I felt was quite a success despite the dampening weather! We played Whacko, Musical 'Ball', created a story about Ken, and closed with a sharing of the day's experience. Finally, Catherine did a speech before closing the campfire (and the day) with a prayer...
The next day, I woke up early and washed up before waking the rest of the Primers up. We packed our stuff and made our way down to the huts for breakfast. Then we took a 1-hour bus ride towards Taman Negara! I was kinda looking forward to it since I had been there in 2005!
We finally got there and memories started flooding in. We took the river boats across the river and walked to the Canopy walk. After an unexpected wait, we finally set foot on the World's longest Canopy walk! We took several photos up there and enjoyed the breath-taking scenery!
It was finally time to leave Taman Negara. We took a sleepy 2.5 hour bus ride back to our hotel in Pahang. After a short rest, we walked to a Chinese restaurant and had a filling 6-course dinner to reward ourselves for all the good effort put into the expedition!
After dinner, we went shopping at a nearby supermarket. I found some good buys including 3 bottles of cologne spray! We even had time to grab a bite at KFC!
The train was expected to arrive at 1.47am. So we got to the station at 1am. Unfortunately, an announcement in Malay informed us the the train was to be delayed until 830am due to technical problems!
So, we headed back to our hotel rooms where we played card games until 430am! We finally conked out and went to sleep. I spent the night with keqin alone in another room as we were locked out by the main gate to our allocated room!
We woke up for a sumptuous dim sum breakfast before heading back to the train station. But, the train was said to be delayed for another 1.5 hours. Yet, it did not arrive until 10am! Finally travelling towards Singapore, we were all tired yet bored on the train. We could not fall asleep as we would have if we took an overnight train ride.
We thought after all that, we should be able to head home with no trouble. But, another surprise awaited us! The train suddenly terminated at Johor Bahru! So close yet so far from Singapore! So we left the train station with our refund, leaving other angry passengers crowding the station.
We walked to the immigration and took a public bus back to the Woodlands immigration centre. By then, it was already 6pm! Everyone was tired after a whole day wasted on travelling when we could have been back home half-a-day earlier! So, we all made our way home from there.
Zheng Jie & I decided to have dinner at Kim San Leng in Bishan. We were so hungry that we ordered a Chicken Rice set for 3 people! We complemented our feast with homemade iced lemon tea! Then, we too made our way home...
Overall, I felt that the Primers Challenge expedition helped me to overcome many fears and gave me many memories and experiences that I will never forget! I got to know more Primers from various BB companies better too!
However, it was the last minute turn of events on the last day that made me realise how unpredictable life can be! I've learnt to be more independent from the trip and I can't wait for more experiences like this to come! (:

'POP'ped out for 41 hours!
i just did from Friday, 25 Jul (730am) to Sunday, 27 Jul (12mn)! WOW!! i tell you, it was a really indescribable experience! i wasn't sure if i was awake or dreaming during that time...
let me now attempt to recall what i had been through in the 41 hours...
Friday, 25 Jul
7am (0 hours awake):
i woke up and went to school for half of the POA lecture before my group left to prepare for our Macroeconomics ICA 2 project presentation! i was really nervous, yet i couldn't wait to show our class the videos that we made! -_-
11am (4 hours awake):
we had our Macroeconomics ICA 2 project presentations! there were 5 groups and we were the 4th group! so it was really nerve-wrecking to see the other groups present and answer the Q & As, but at the same time, it was really entertaining to watch the videos of the other groups and listen to them present! Great job, class!!! (:
Finally, it was our group's turn to present! we started off with our 1st video "Finding US 20million"...
then we presented our proposal as business partners of JAPCC (Japan-Australia Proposal Cosplay Cafe). here is our second video, "Cosplay Cafe Advertisement + Credits"...
after that, we showed our "NG Scenes" that we had during filming...
haha! that was our CRAZY presentation! Our tutor said that our group did a great job with our project! He even mentioned that it was one of the most united group presentations he has seen for this module! YAY! Praise God for granting us favour and helping us through the whole process! It was a good group and we all managed to work fairly well together as a team! Great job, guys!! i had fun working on this project together with you guys!
here are some crazy photos that we took!
3pm (8 hours awake):
anyways, after the presentations and photo-taking sessions, i rushed down to PHS for the final POP rehearsal. the attendance wasn't really ideal, but we managed to do a few good run-throughs. when the rehearsal ended, we quickly gathered the supporting contingents to help with the setup and preparations for the hall and the parade square!
6pm (11 hours awake):
after tying up some problems that cropped up, we had a debrief later in the evening to cover everything that is left for the POP the next day. then we prayed and committed everything to God...
8pm (13 hours awake):
i had a delicious packet of chicken rice for dinner with bryan, jiang wei, jonathan & joshua at school... it was really satisfying...
10pm (15 hours awake):
after dinner, joshua & i followed jiang wei home to pack his bag for the next day's events...
11pm (16 hours awake):
then we went off to AMK mrt where we sent joshua off before i brought jiang wei home to stay over. we had to stay up to prepare the video slideshows and powerpoint presentations for the UG tributes as the committee didn't manage to do it...
Saturday, 26 Jul
4.30am (21.5 hours awake):
in the end, we finished work at 4.30am. we had to be in school by 6am. so we decided not to sleep anymore. instead, we had breakfast (bread & milk) and got ready to go out. i took a quick cold shower to refresh myself before we left.
5.30am (22.5 hours awake):
we started walking towards Bishan mrt... we were really 'high' on our way there. we started singing songs and laughing (okay, i know that sounds crazy.. but we just couldn't help it!) but when we got there, we realised that the train service towards jurong east hadn't started yet! so we decided to cab down instead...
6am (23 hours awake):
8am (25 hours awake):
after ensuring that everyone was ready in their positions, we started off the parade. overall, the parade went rather smoothly and the tossing-of-berets was great!
9am (26 hours awake):
after some photo-taking in the parade square, we finally got everyone settled down in the hall... i had to use my laptop in the end as the powerpoints were not compatible with the school's PA computer.. then, we started with each individual UG tribute... some brought laughter, while others brought tears... overall, it made the whole POP this year a bit more special...

i would say that all the effort that was put into this POP was worth it when i saw the UG cadets really showing appreciation to their seniors!10.30am (27.5 hours awake):
after the buffet lunch (that i never got to eat..) and the distribution of the POP T-shirt, and the final clearing-up of the hall, parade square and the canteen... the POP committee and i had a final debrief! we congratulated each other for the success of the event, and encouraged each other to do even better in the future! finally, we turned to God to thank Him for the sweet success that he allowed us to taste! Amen!
12.30pm (29.5 hours awake):
when we were done 'dilly-dallying', a few of the primers decided to go to dhoby ghaut for lunch and 'shopping'.. so we made our way there.. by then, jiangwei and i were already feeling 'dreamy'.. but we were hungry, so we persevered.. lol.
1.30pm (30.5 hours awake):
we had a good meal at Long John Silver, Plaza Singapura.. then, we visited Sheron who was working at Gelare... after that, we walked about for just awhile...
2.30pm (31.5 hours awake):
jiang wei & i left to go for the Founders' Award Presentation Ceremony (FAPC)... it was held at the Singapore Swimming Club (SSC)... on the train towards serangoon, we both we almost dozing off, but i encouraged us both to perk up because we had chosen to commit for the duty.. so we should give our 100%!
4pm (33 hours awake):
we finally made it to the SSC in our (POP T-shirts and slippers) after taking bus 158 frm serangoon...there, we met the other primers and officers on duty and we briefed before we got changed back into our full uniform (again.) i was assigned to do the carpark duty, so we were given walkie-talkies to communicate among ourselves... that was really cool!
6pm (35 hours awake):
overall, i had a great time of fun & fellowship with the primers from the other companies and enjoyed the 9-course dinner (although i didn't get to try everything because we had to do our duty..) but it was a really good experience doing the ushering and also witnessing the 5 Founder's Men from BB27! i loved taking photos with them...
10.30pm (39.5 hours awake):
our final duty was over! the journey back was really tough. by then, jiang wei and i were really, really exhausted. i was feeling really lost in a world that i wanted to go home immediately! i couldn't even tell what was real or not..
11.30pm (40.5 hours awake):
i finally got home! i took a really well-deserved warm shower...
Sunday, 27 Jul
12am (41 hours awake):
i went to sleep.
i really thank God that he helped me to get home safely. it is a memorable experience that i will remember...

then i left after 6pm to go back to phs as jason (neo) said that he wanted to meet me.. but when i reached yck, he called to say that he was already at amk pizza hut! so i made my way there to find him, shuhui and some other P.A. club ppl having dinner.. there, he gave me a present for my birthday! we had a good long chat together before i went home... (well, i thought that jason really changed a lot! haha. as in his character..)
