ODE to my Camera...

Hello friends.

It seems that indeed it has been a long time since my last post. As noted in an old post, "NEW POST<>

& now... I give you: THE POINT OF THIS POST.

Last friday the boy and I where about to be off to watch a plan in San fran. We already had a full day of breakfast with good friends and my favorite friday location (Harbor Cafe), taking a car to the shop, Go Cart racing (which I fear should be another post with much more of a

story), In&Out, and finally a rushed getting ready to go to the City.

So as I wandered into the living room... as if all video cameras where on me... The camera which captures so much of my life. hit the floor and died. So there it sit no

w near the dead plants, its in good company.

so today I am buying a new one. TRAGIC.

Cereality

Today I picked up a student from the steps of SC High and I ask as I always do...so what are you in the mood for? Today My student said Cereality! Its new Downtown and you can pick Any Cereal you can dream up. Basically this place is Buddy the elf's dream come true. Its like the Cold Stone's of Cereal.

My Combo today consisted of:

Honey Comb
Rice Krispy's
Banana's
Cereality Charm Mallows (Lucky Charm Mallows)

My point always an interesting adventure with my students & in Santa Cruz! Nothing like sitting on a sofa, watching cartoons, eating cereal, and talking about life. I have to say it doesn't get better than that.

Bon Jovi

Did I mention that this last wednesday...

I recieved two tickets to a BON JOVI concert!!

Nothing better that a stadium full of people singing Living on a prayer or Wanted.

AMAZING!! I cannot lie to you! Bon Jovi still has it after all these years. He played song's off a new album but it was the vintage classics I was there for : ) They divided that well among the night!

I have to say that the perks of being a youth pastor is sometimes you get free tickets to things you enjoy, but would never buy for yourself! Seriously what a blessing! Seriously what fun!

ON the 7th day...

Sleep...I need it.

its funny that in times of sleep depravity, it seems that what is running though my head is stress, lists, people, relationships, what needs to be finished, who I need to pray for, and thoughts all random.

family, life, love, ministry, snow trip, Mexico, volunteers, friends, money, time, and adequacy to name a few are what keeps me up at night these last 6 nights.

My hope is I don't follow my pattern and not sleep the night before the trip (*Historically the Night before a trip I cannot sleep, I am up aimlessly, packing, and sorting anything in my room...one thing missing is sleep).

On the 7Th day...I would like to rest...praying its so.

Praying the same for my partner in crime at HSCC, with kids he has been up as well.

Me, I'm just up...which sucks more...I have no reason for my sleepless nights.

And in about 20 minutes my Roommate wakes up to work at a coffee shop...at an hour no one going to sleep on time should have to awake at.

and at the moment I have no idea where my wallet is?? Hummm.

Just call me Buddy...

Finally our Christmas tree has arrived!

Since really before thanksgiving my joy for Christmas has been more than apparent. You see, I wanted to put up the first decorations before the turkey was unfrozen and the pumpkins where still on the table.

I believe that the biggest part of my joy came from the fact that last year my roommates really didn't want to mess with a Christmas tree, since we had just moved in on December 1, 2006 (wow we have been here a year) and where expecting around 20 people in our house for the annual 3 day new years celebration and reunion. I can't say that I blame them. The choice was really a good one on their part, and now I am grateful that I submitted.

However Christmas is just not Christmas with out a tree!

When I got the word this year that they wanted to have Christmas in the house...it was as if I was Buddy in Elf and I just found out I was about to see Santa! Yeah you must watch that! I am "Buddy" when it comes to Christmas around this casa. Our house is full of random

decorations, stockings, and lights...enough to make us say, "sigh, its Christmas here!"

Christmas Tree Stats:

Location: Living Room: on Top of our Bistro table (adds 2 more feet)

Height: 2 feet tall

Ornaments: Urban Outfitters: hip and random colors

Tree Star: Dollar Tree (yeah!! Venessa & I may LOVE IT)

Lights: One String 100 count (I told you its huge)

Sitting at Midnight

enjoying the Christmas Spirit... AMAZING!

There is something that gets me every year and its sitting in the room, with the tree lights on, very few lights on, and everyone has gone to bed. There is this peace that I get just from sitting near it. Something, that I am just realising Its just not Christmas to me until I get to pause by my tree...as silly as that is. I can't lie I just love it.
