My Little Brother's Wedding

Warning...this post is going to have lots of pictures and I hope you all enjoy looking at them. I was was going to have even more but for some stupid reason some of them came out really small, so I just didn't post those ones. I tried to make them bigger for about 20 minutes and was just getting irritated so I stopped trying. I'm guessing more pictures will be posted in the next few weeks as more come in.

This weekend was one busy weekend. Not only was it Easter, but it was my little brother's wedding! The wedding was a few hours away, where my brother and his new wife Erika live so a road trip was in order. Ry, J.J, Lil Man and myself all piled in the car and left around noon for our two hour road trip. The kids don't exactly like riding in the car for long periods of time so I made sure to stock up on books, car games, coloring books, crayons, DS games, and snacks. We were in the car for a total of maybe twenty minutes, we weren't even out of our town yet when Lil Man started asking "Are we there yet?" I think in the first 45 minutes he must of asked 10 times. Ry and I just looked at each other and laughed. Much to our surprise the kids did great in the car and no getting car sick so that was a huge bonus!!

Once we got there we checked into the hotel and we decided to let the kids swim for a while before the rehearsal festivities got started. They loved swimming in the pool and had a great time. Once again Ry and I wondered how the kids would do with the down time of the rehearsal. I was the only one in the wedding so there was lots of down time for them. However, once again the kids were 100% perfect. However, Lil Man was very upset for about two hours while we were in the chapel. It's kind of a funny story actually. I had to go up and stand in the hall way with the rest of the wedding party so we could practice walking in and down the aisle with our groomsman. Well, Lil Man saw my arm wrapped in his and he totally flipped out. In his little four year old mind he saw me walking down the aisle with my brother's friend and thought I was getting married to him and not going home with him, Daddy, and J.J. We all kept telling him that I was helping out Matt and Erika by being in their wedding and that it was okay, that I was not marrying him, that he had his own wife and baby and that I was still going home with them. However, he did not like it and just kept crying, "No JenJen, don't do it." "I just don't want you to do it, tell Matt no" Eventually after about an hour we all convinced him that I was just helping Matt and Erika out, but he did not like the fact that somebody besides Daddy and him were touching me.

There was only one moment during the rehearsal where I got really chocked up. After our first run through of the ceremony the entire wedding party was standing out it the hall. I saw one of the wedding programs laying on the table so I picked it up and started reading it. I flipped to the back page and saw "In Remembrance of People Who Are No Longer With Us" there, was a list of important people in Matt and Erika's life who had passed away and how they were related to them. Well, on that list was Shawn's name and it said brother-in law of the groom. I'm not sure why, but for some reason I just wasn't expecting to see that and I instantly broke down into tears. Phew...it just hit me hard. I was fine after a few minutes, but god damn did that suck!

After the practice at the church we headed to an Italian restaurant for the rehearsal dinner. Oh was it yummy! Once again the kids did awesome! After the dinner we all went back to our hotel room and crashed!

JenJen, J.J, Lil Man and Ry before our dinner. Out of all of the pictures we took this weekend I think this is one of my favorites. I'm not sure why, but I just love it!!

Lil Man slurping up his spaghetti.

I had to get up early on Saturday to get to the salon to get my hair done with the rest of the girls in the wedding party and Erika. Ry got up, took the kids to breakfast and then went swimming with them until I got back to the hotel around noon. I so wish the pics of me getting my hair done came out. I'm telling you they were some funny pics! I totally loved my hair! I told the guy to do something and I quote, "Crazy, freakin, fun with it!" Well, needless to say he totally listened to me and I had rockin hair!! Most people really liked it and a few said it was just way too much.

Once we got to the chapel for the wedding everything went off without a hitch and the ceremony was perfect!. Once again I had lots of pics of us getting all around but for some reason they are not loading "regular" size on here. So I just posted what I could get a nice size for you all. Like I said I'm sure I will be posting many more wedding pics in the next few weeks.

Ry, Lil Man, J.J, and myself after the wedding.

Such a cute little boy in his big boy suite.

Pretty girl!

Totally love this picture of the four of us too.

Sisters!

The entire wedding party.

Yes! Can we say height and volume to my hair! Ry said it was like a huge tidal wave of hair!

The happy couple in the limo on the way to the reception.

Once at the reception we all ate dinner, ate tons of candy at the candy bar (great idea by the way) and danced til our feet hurt. The kids LOVED dancing. J.J even got a pen and paper and dedicated a song to her family and the four of us all went out and danced together. So sweet!
Lil Man and I slow dancing. He asked me to slow dance for every song. I didn't even get to dance once with Ry, because Lil Man always wanted to.

Can not even begin to tell you how much I love this picture. It makes me want to cry every time I look at it. Ry loves his little girl so much! Precious!!!

JenJen and Lil Man slow dancing to the last slow song of the night!

The kids did 100% terrific the entire weekend! Ry and I were so proud of them.

So far I have about ten pictures that I know Ry and I want to frame and put up from the weekend and those are just the pictures that we took. Matt and Erika had a great photographer and I know he took some awesome pictures of us too. It's going to be hard to narrow down what we really want.

Like I said I'm sure I will be posting more pictures soon. Hope you all liked the little preview. Well, I'm still tired from the weekend so I'm off to bed.

Oh How I Love My Bo

I had a post all lined up in my head today that I was going to write about but then I checked my email and got an email from my Dad with super cute pics of Bo. So I decided to do a Bo post instead. If you read nothing of this post just skip down to the last picture, it will make you laugh. Every time I look at it, it seriously cracks me up!

My Dad went up to our house in Traverse City earlier this week and wanted to take Bo with him. My Dad totally loves Bo and the two of them love spending time together, so I decided to let Bo go and have some fun for a few days. Apparently the two of them are having a great time. They were supposed to come home tonight, but my dad called and said it would not be until Friday now since the weather is nicer. I kind of think the two of them might try and push it until Saturday. The first night they were gone my Dad (who recently has retired) sent me an email...a long email about what the two of them did during the day. Bo remembered right where all of his toys were kept from spending the last two summers up there. He has a darn good memory!

This morning I woke up from another email from Dad, but this time it was a slide show of about 20 different pictures of my Bobo complete with little captions. (Perhaps Dad is a little bored now that he has retired) Ry and I joked that he should think about getting a little Boston puppy of his own to help occupy some his time. Then Bo would also have another play buddy!!!

In all other Bo news he is doing great! He totally loves Ry (I think even more than me) and he loves J.J and Lil Man tons too. He also loves going over to Ry's parents house. They have a huge fenced in back yard, so he can run for hours chasing balls and squirrels. They also have a Boston, named Rocky and they love playing together as well. His allergies still bother him almost all the time. We are getting to the hard part of the year so we will see what this spring does for him. He is on an adult Benadryl two times a day now, so I'm hoping that will help. I'm hoping to avoid the biweekly trips to the vet this spring for allergy shots. We shall see. Oh the things I do for my little baby. Other than that all is good with Bo, he is one happy little boy! I love him more every day....he is my baby.

Now are you ready for some pictures of the handsome little guy?

My Dad and Bo stopped off at one of the local ski hills on the way up to Traverse. Bo loved getting out of the car and walking around the hill with Grandpa.

Bo's all time FAVORITE activity...catching tennis balls. Seriously, if there is a tennis ball anywhere in our house he will find it and you MUST play with him. God help you if it's nice out, expect to be out all day with him.

Loves...loves....loves catching the ball.

So sleepy after catching and running with the ball all day. Try to take the ball from him and I guarantee he will wake up.

I can not believe he went into the lake. Dad said there was ice in it when they woke up that morning. It wasn't even hot up there. Bo does love the water though, he probably couldn't wait to take his first dip of the season.

Oh goodness, this makes me cold just looking at it. I think I remember telling my Dad not to let him go into the lake because it was too cold still. (Yes, I treat my dog like a child...is that wrong?)

Ok...are you ready for the cutest picture ever? The first time I looked at this I laughed out loud. It seriously is damn funny and if you "know" Bo and his personality it is even better!

"I said...I don't want to get out of the water!!!" Really, do you see his cute little tongue sticking out? What a priceless picture. I'm going to the store tomorrow and getting it frames. Seriously love it!

Well, there you have it, a few new pics of Bo. Oh how I love my little Bobo!

WaTeR PaRk FuN!!

This past weekend was super fun! Ry, J.J, Lil Man, myself and our friends with their two kids went to an indoor water park. It was spring break and we all wanted to do something fun without spending an astronomical amount of money. Our solution was to drive 45 minutes away and hit one of the indoor water parks. I was a little nervous about this at first because J.J and Lil Man don't know how to swim all that well and the thought of all those pools scared me a bit. However, I had nothing to fear the kids did GREAT!!! All eight of us had TONS of fun and it was so nice to get some to spend with our friends while the four kids were splashing around. Just so that you know, us adults did our fair share of splashing around in the pools and water slides too. I'm not lying when I tell you I took over 50 pictures. Don't worry, I'm not going to show you all of them just a few that I happen to like the most.

We got to the park a little after 12:30 in the afternoon on Friday. By 1:00 the kids were all in their suits and ready to hit the pool. We played in the park from 1:00 until 4:30 when we went back up to our room to get ready for our dinner out. We really had to talk the kids into getting out of the water to go and eat. After three and a half hours the adults were kind of ready for a break, but the kids just wanted to stay and play. However, the adults won out and we all went back to our hotel room and changed for dinner. By 6:30 we were back in our room and the kids were back in their suits ready to swim and go down the slides. We stayed in the park until 9:00 and then got the kids ready because we were all starting to get a lot sleepy.

We went back to our room, ordered pizza. Yeah, I know we had already eaten dinner but swimming that long makes a person hungry! After the pizza three out of the four kids crashed and were out like lights. The adults watched a movie on TV and sat their talking. Before we knew it all eight of us were out! Every single person in the hotel room (we all shared a family loft) was fast alseep by 11:30. We were all exhausted from all the swimming!

We were all starting to wake up by 8:30. Well all of us except for Lil Man, he was still out like a light! We needed to be down to eat breakfast, in our jammies (the kids thought this was great) by 9:30. After a very yummy all you can eat breakfast buffet we headed back to our room, changed into our suits yet again and went back to the park until 4:00 when it was time to check out of our room and the hotel.

It was a quick over night trip but everyone had a blast and we are already talking about doing it again next year. Now...are you ready for some pictures??? I know you are:)

Pictures of Zehnder's Splash Village Hotel & Waterpark, Frankenmuth
Here is a picture of some of the lazy river. It was so nice just to sit in a tube in the nice warm water and just float. J.J loved pulling me along in my tube. The little stinker would go under the big stream just to get me wet...she loved it!
Here is a picture of the two "big" water slides that the park had. I had never been to a water park before and had no idea how fast you zipped down that thing!!! Boy was that fun. Ry and I went down a few times on the double tube and then Ry took Lil Man down a whole bunch, he loved it! J.J said she wanted nothing to do with going down something that went that fast. The rest of us thought it was great fun.
Lil Man zipping down the "famous" purple slide. This slide was all he was talking about. In a matter of 20 minutes he felt comfortable enough to go down the slide without his life jacket. He would hit the water, stand up, wipe his face and head to the end of the line for more!

J.J and Lil Man in the hot tub! We all loved the hot tub!!

J.J floating down the lazy river.

J.J and JenJen. I tell you it was a brilliant idea to wear mascara to the water park. NOT! Pardon the black smear running under my eyes.

Lil Man totally zonked out in the morning. I took this right before I woke him up. He was not so happy with me. Then he remembered where he was at and was all about getting up and going swimming.

This picture was taken at breakfast. Like I said we all ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant in our jammies and the kids thought that was the coolest thing. A few of you who I am friends with on FaceBook commented on you liking my hair color. I have to tell you that made me laugh hard. My hair in this picture had not been washed in a day and had been curly, wet, dry, curly, wet, and dry about ten times during the day. Not to mention I slept all night on wet hair. I got up in the morning and could not even get a brush through it because it was so tangled. So I gave up and just put a clip in. Thanks for the compliment, but it made me laugh...so not a good hair day at the water park!!

Daddy and J.J

Love, love, love this picture of Ry and J.J.

Here is one of the four of us. J.J and Lil Man wanted us all to be sitting on the alligator, but lets just say it's meant for only little bodies.

We all had a great time, but we all came back totally 100% exhausted and wore out. We did nothing but lay around Saturday when we got back. As a matter of fact, it's now Monday and I'm still just as tired. Swimming and playing in the water for a day and a half really takes it out of you. But it was so much fun and I'm so glad we all decided to go on a little get away
