Uff, jeg har ikke fått rotet meg til å lese Breeboka enda, selv om den ligger på nett og alt. Det får skje i helga. Men jeg leser her og der at folk liker den.
Her er noen spørsmål og svar om Bree fra et intervju forlaget har gjort med Stephenie Meyer, kryssklippet med litt Eclipsebilder:
Q: Bree only appears in a couple pages of Eclipse. What was it about the character that made you want to explore her story further?
A: In the beginning, I wasn’t fascinated specifically by Bree — it was the newborns in general. While I was writing Eclipse, there was a lot going on behind the scenes, of course, things Bella didn’t know about. Because I was focused on Bella, I couldn’t delve too deeply into the newborns’ story, however, there was always in my mind a general idea of what they were up to. I had to think about that while I was pacing the plot: Bella is at this point, the newborns are doing this. To keep it all straight, eventually I made a calendar of the months of May and June — which is all Eclipse deals with — and wrote down on each square what was going on with Bella that day and what was happening in Seattle. So the story of the newborns was always a big part of the story of Eclipse. And it made me kind of sad that there was no way to express any of that in the book.
Bree is the only newborn mentioned by name in Eclipse, the only newborn who has contact with the Cullens (aside from being killed by them), and the only newborn who encounters the Volturi in the clearing. She lives the longest, so she is the narrator who can tell the full story. She was a natural choice to chronicle the story of the newborns. Once I started writing from her perspective, she really came alive. So much so that, as the inevitable end got closer, it was really depressing going ahead. It was harder for me to kill Bree than any other fiction character I’ve ever killed, even though I was killing her for the second time. (Before Bree, the saddest was Walter in The Host.)"

First of all, this is a new book in the Twilight saga. Holding that in your hands is an incredible high. It's been almost two years since we've had that joy and may very well be the last time. You know, unless we end up with a completed version of that other book which shall not be named."

Could it possibly offer anything new and interesting enough to really be worth the effort of publishing it? Was it really going to be that much of an asset to those beautiful black books resting so happily on my shelf?
It was so much more than I ever could have imagined. And yes, there was new information in there. Things I'd never have dreamed of that change the way you see everything that happened on the day of the battle. There were thrills, surprises and moments that tugged at my heart."

BDH: Yes, of course I did. Rachelle [Lefevre] did an extraordinary job at creating Victoria and part of the joy of a franchise like this is getting to see not only the characters grow but the actors continuing to grow with the characters. That’s a lot of the joy in the Harry Potter series. Every time I see one of those movies it’s so exciting to see them because they’re all getting a little bit older and different things are happening to them. It’s like watching a TV show. You start to connect with the actors really deeply. It was really unfortunate for everybody that Rachelle left. I did feel, I don’t know if I should say a pressure, but an enormous responsibility because the fans felt really strongly about the role of Victoria and they felt a deep connection to Rachelle, which they should because she is also beautiful and talented. I really did do my best and I hope that whatever work I did can somehow honor what had been created before and what was created by Stephenie. I felt really grateful to this because Rachelle and I have connected. She’s an amazing woman and has been enormously and overwhelmingly helpful."

Alt jeg ville ha var Midnight Sun, men det jeg fikk var Bree Tanner
Stephenie Meyer har IKKE skrevet ferdig Midnight Sun (hvorfor, SMeyer, hvorfor?), men finpusset noe gammelt hun hadde liggende og utgir nå historien om Bree Tanners korte liv som vampyr. Boka kommer 5. juni, og kan forhåndsbestilles på amazon.com.

"Actually, this has been a surprise to me, too. The reason why it's a surprise was that I never intended to publish this story as a stand-alone book. I began this story a long time ago—before Twilight was even released. Back then I was just editing Eclipse, and in the thick of my vampire world. I was thinking a lot about the newborns, imagining their side of the story, and one thing led to another. I started writing from Bree's perspective about those final days, and what it was like to be a newborn."

"This story was something that I worked on off and on for a while, just for fun, in between the times I was writing or editing other Twilight novels. Later, when the concept for The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide came up, I thought that might be a good place for Bree. Her story is a nice complement to Eclipse; it explains a lot of the things that Bella never knew. So I dusted it off and finished it up for placement in the Guide."

Melissa (Rosenberg, the screenwriter) had a ton of questions about what exactly was going on in Seattle, how Victoria managed things, what Riley was like, etc. I let her read what I had then, and later gave the whole thing to the director, David Slade. David asked if Xavier, Bryce, and Jodelle (Riley, Victoria, and Bree) could read it as well, so all the parties involved would end up having a really strong foundation for their characters before the cameras started rolling. I was pleased that this side of the story would make it into the film and was looking forward to including it in the Guide."

That made sense to me, and we decided to go ahead with it."

7 minutter Eclipse
Slusene er åpne!
Det er en bra dag å være Twilightblogger, samtidig som jeg bare vil ligge på sofaen og kose meg med Bellaboksen min! Også kjent som luksusproblem eller en vinn-vinn situasjon. Wohoo!

Vampyrtrening, stuntkoordinering, den etterhvert berømte druespisingen tilJacob (jeg skrev virkelig Jacob først, srsly) Taylor...Jeg så til og med et glimt eller to av Bella som bæres gjennom skogen!
