Cullenaction.

"Don't think you'll be washing that Twilight out of your hair by 2012! There's already a rumor going around about a big screen adaptation of the Twilight novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner in the works at Summit. What's Playing is reporting that an insider emailed, "It goes without saying Summit want to continue this franchise... Tanner is the one they're looking at post-Breaking Dawn..."

Bree eller ikke Bree?

Via twilightere.com.

"It's too early to talk casting, and everything we're hearing is just speculation or off a wish list, but I don't believe they plan on using the original actress, Jodelle Ferland, for the spin-off film. It's all about numbers and names -- you guys know that." WP passes this info on with a caveat that this tipster is "a first-time scooper" and to think of this as only a rumor but admits "it's too good not to print." Hey, we think so too!"

Litt Bree. Igjen.

Q: Bree only appears in a couple pages of Eclipse. What was it about the character that made you want to explore her story further?

A: In the beginning, I wasn’t fascinated specifically by Bree — it was the newborns in general. While I was writing Eclipse, there was a lot going on behind the scenes, of course, things Bella didn’t know about. Because I was focused on Bella, I couldn’t delve too deeply into the newborns’ story, however, there was always in my mind a general idea of what they were up to. I had to think about that while I was pacing the plot: Bella is at this point, the newborns are doing this. To keep it all straight, eventually I made a calendar of the months of May and June — which is all Eclipse deals with — and wrote down on each square what was going on with Bella that day and what was happening in Seattle. So the story of the newborns was always a big part of the story of Eclipse. And it made me kind of sad that there was no way to express any of that in the book.

Bree is the only newborn mentioned by name in Eclipse, the only newborn who has contact with the Cullens (aside from being killed by them), and the only newborn who encounters the Volturi in the clearing. She lives the longest, so she is the narrator who can tell the full story. She was a natural choice to chronicle the story of the newborns. Once I started writing from her perspective, she really came alive. So much so that, as the inevitable end got closer, it was really depressing going ahead. It was harder for me to kill Bree than any other fiction character I’ve ever killed, even though I was killing her for the second time. (Before Bree, the saddest was Walter in The Host.)"

Decisions, decisions...

Via Twicrack.

"Q: Why do you feel it is important for people to read Bree’s story prior to the release of the Eclipse movie?

A: Eclipse is told from only Bella’s perspective. That has some limitations; when there is so much going on off-stage (so to speak), it leaves a lot of mysteries. The films have the advantage of seeing the story from outside of Bella’s head. The viewer can see things — like the wolves hunting Victoria in New Moon— that the reader only gets hints of. Of all the Twilight books, Eclipse has the most going on outside of Bella’s view. For the movie to work, we have to see and understand some of these things.

Knowing that elements of Bree’s story were being incorporated into the movie, I hoped the story could somehow get out first. Personally, I always want to read a book before seeing the movie. I like to make my own mental pictures before someone else’s picture intrudes. Probably most of my readers don’t have the same hang-up, but for those who do, I wanted to give them the chance to create their own mental pictures of Bree and the gang."

Stupid black Volvo.

Fra everglow.

"Q: In which order would you recommend one read The Twilight Saga with the addition of The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner? Should they follow Eclipse with the novella or finish Breaking Dawn before cracking the pages of The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner?

A: If I were going to read the saga for the first time, I would probably read Bella’s story straight through before launching into other perspectives."

"Q: Why did you choose the American Red Cross as your recipient charity for donations from the sale of The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner?

A: I was very moved by the outpouring of support after the disaster in Haiti. A lot of Twilight fan communities did fundraising effort, and I was so impressed by their efforts. I wanted to continue that movement. I think it’s important that we not quickly forget Haiti and Chile now that they’re no longer the focus of the media. It takes a very long time to recover from such devastation and they still need our help."

Breemania.

Uansett. Breeboka får gode kritikker:

Via Irish Twilight Sisters.

Eyes of Amber skriver i sin spoilerfrie bokomtale:

When Stephenie announced that we were going to get a book about Bree, I was less than enthused. I now take every bit of that pessimistic attitude back.

First of all, this is a new book in the Twilight saga. Holding that in your hands is an incredible high. It's been almost two years since we've had that joy and may very well be the last time. You know, unless we end up with a completed version of that other book which shall not be named."

Via Twifans.

"Secondly, it's so good to read something from Stephenie again. Something new that we haven't already read more times than we'd generally admit in mixed company. It's a chance to disappear into the world of Twilight anew, from a perspective we'venever had before. That is absolutely amazing.

One of my original hesitations about this book was the fact that it was part of a story that we already knew. Could it possibly offer anything new and interesting enough to really be worth the effort of publishing it? Was it really going to be that much of an asset to those beautiful black books resting so happily on my shelf?

It was so much more than I ever could have imagined. And yes, there was new information in there. Things I'd never have dreamed of that change the way you see everything that happened on the day of the battle. There were thrills, surprises and moments that tugged at my heart."

Herregud! Wohoo!

Herlig. Kostymene og sminken får også gjennomgå:

Vår venninne Bryce Dallas Howard aka Victoria snakker Eclipse. Her i Saturday Night Magazine:

"Thanks to a reputable background in theater, where she caught the eye of director M. Night Shyamalan who cast her in two of his biggest films, The Village and Lady In The Water, Howard’s career has blossomed on the big screen. This month, she emerges as a 1920s debutante in Tennessee Williams’ The Loss Of A Teardrop Diamond and next year will soon be seen as Victoria in the The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (replacing Rachelle Lefevre). While there may still be some skeptics (nothing can stop an angry Twilight blogger after all), Howard continues to make a name for herself all on her own." Ha ha, sinte Twilightbloggere tar over verden! FTW!

"SNMag: What has it been like joining the cast of Twilight?

BDH: It’s a really extraordinary series and obviously the franchise really reflects what Stephenie Meyer has created with a lot of integrity. She’s so involved with the movies and it is really wonderful. It’s really an incredible storytelling moment. And people are really connecting with and responding to that. So I read the books and I just did my best for the character Victoria. I just wanted to do my best not to interfere with the books."

Hallo, fru Bryce.

Fra Saturday Night Magazine.

"SNMag: Did you feel pressure coming into this, with the character already being established?

BDH: Yes, of course I did. Rachelle [Lefevre] did an extraordinary job at creating Victoria and part of the joy of a franchise like this is getting to see not only the characters grow but the actors continuing to grow with the characters. That’s a lot of the joy in the Harry Potter series. Every time I see one of those movies it’s so exciting to see them because they’re all getting a little bit older and different things are happening to them. It’s like watching a TV show. You start to connect with the actors really deeply. It was really unfortunate for everybody that Rachelle left. I did feel, I don’t know if I should say a pressure, but an enormous responsibility because the fans felt really strongly about the role of Victoria and they felt a deep connection to Rachelle, which they should because she is also beautiful and talented. I really did do my best and I hope that whatever work I did can somehow honor what had been created before and what was created by Stephenie. I felt really grateful to this because Rachelle and I have connected. She’s an amazing woman and has been enormously and overwhelmingly helpful."

Et gammelt set-stalkingbilde fra Eclipse.

Fra Twilight Gossip.

"SNMag: What was the shooting like for you? Did you have an opportunity to hang out with the cast and bond with them?

BDH: Oh, yes, I mean they’re a very tight-knit group of people who are just wonderful. They’re incredibly authentic and none of them are getting swept up by the mania of this. They just care about each other and are protective of each other. They are just a great group of friends. I feel like all of these people would have been friends regardless. They all bonded through this amazing moment that’s happening in their lives."

Ecliiiiiiipse!

"I have a new book coming out. It's called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. Well, it's more of a novella than an actual book—my version of a short story."

Nytt bilde fra Eclipse. Wohoo! 87 dager igjen!

Via TwiCrack.

"Actually, this has been a surprise to me, too. The reason why it's a surprise was that I never intended to publish this story as a stand-alone book. I began this story a long time ago—before Twilight was even released. Back then I was just editing Eclipse, and in the thick of my vampire world. I was thinking a lot about the newborns, imagining their side of the story, and one thing led to another. I started writing from Bree's perspective about those final days, and what it was like to be a newborn."

Fra twilighttish via Eclipse Movie.

"This story was something that I worked on off and on for a while, just for fun, in between the times I was writing or editing other Twilight novels. Later, when the concept for The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide came up, I thought that might be a good place for Bree. Her story is a nice complement to Eclipse; it explains a lot of the things that Bella never knew. So I dusted it off and finished it up for placement in the Guide."

Også fra twilighttish via Eclipse Movie.

"At the same time, it came in handy for the Eclipse film. Melissa (Rosenberg, the screenwriter) had a ton of questions about what exactly was going on in Seattle, how Victoria managed things, what Riley was like, etc. I let her read what I had then, and later gave the whole thing to the director, David Slade. David asked if Xavier, Bryce, and Jodelle (Riley, Victoria, and Bree) could read it as well, so all the parties involved would end up having a really strong foundation for their characters before the cameras started rolling. I was pleased that this side of the story would make it into the film and was looking forward to including it in the Guide."

Jada, dette også.

"Then I got the news: my "short story" was nearly 200 pages long when typeset. It was too long to fit into the Guide—without ending up with a tome as heavy as the Oxford English Dictionary. My publisher approached me with the idea of releasing the Bree story on its own. One of the major benefits of this plan was that it would be out before the movie, so people would get to know Bree before they saw her in the film. That made sense to me, and we decided to go ahead with it."

Eclipseplakaten i litt videre versjon. Vi kan nå se skulderen til Jacob. Wohoo!

Wohoo!
