Love of a father

I am always late with this color challenge, but it is such great inspiration I had to use it. There should be another fun color challenge tomorrow if you would like to check it out you can do that here.
Here is my card.
This is a one layer card for Kristina's challenge. Isn't that fun? I did a TON of masking, but it really is neat to see in person. Everything else is stamps. The shape is the top notes die for my mask. I then used the new little argyle stamp set to create the pattern on the bottom. I thought it needed a little ribbon for the center, but since it is a one layer card, I went with more masking. The sentiment is from father knows best. It will work well for one of the Dads. This also works really well with the PPA kiss challenge this week.
Look for another fun post tomorrow. I am going to have a card for the PTI blog hop!!!!

It's a good life!

Thank you

Well I was finally able to get some crafting done. Not nearly as much as I had thought, but we have been working on getting Izzy's new room done as well. She is such a girl and that room is PINK!!!! Hopefully when we add the white furniture and such it will calm it down, LOL.

I found a new to me color challenge which looked like lots of fun. I think I am actually a day late in uploading it, but it was still fun. This card was also made for the PPA KISS challenge. I really like thinking about making simple cards, but must admit that I don't do it that often, so challenges are fabulous for me.
Here is my card
The flowers are from 5th Ave floral, stampin up. I saw some fun line art flowers on some cards and thought I needed those new stamps. Instead of buying, I went through all of my sets and low and behold I had a cutie right on my shelves. That is one of my new committments this year. I am really going to work on using what I already have before running out and buying the newest and greatest thing.
I colored the flowers with my copics. The teal requirement is in the center of the flower and then it moves to the brilliant blue part. It turned really fun in real life.

You are not alone!

This was a fun project I put together for PPA challenge this week. Isn't the picture so inspiring!
Here is the bag I created
This was actually a quick project thanks to Stampin Up's fun bags. I just had to put this together and then add the ribbon and tag. So much fun! I think this will be for my Grandma over Valentines Day holiday. She will like this and it is also fun for her to have yummys to munch on.

Hey Chickadee

I am really excited about sharing this card with you. There are just certain cards that come together and make you smile when they are done. This was one of those cards for me. I used the color combo from PPA and the fun sketch from MMSC.
Here is the sketch
My card
Okay isn't this card a cutie LOL! I haven't created a lot of cards with the little chicks, but I really think they are cute. For some reason this color combo just called to the chicks for me. The pumpkin just begged to be the sun. There are little bits of bling for the eyes.
Izzy is restless, so I need to go and start the day.

Enjoy the ride

Don't forget about my two BIG Blog Candies found here.

Well, I had another anniversary card to make. I really didn't realize how many I needed in one year. After some reflection I think it is great! What a testiment to marriage. Okay this was for a few different challenges. I was a bit worried about this Color Throwdown challenge becuase the colors were not really me, but I really do like the card. I also made this for the PPA clean and simple challenge.
Here is my card
A close up of the dimension.
Okay I got this fabulous idea from Lauren Meader. She is a geneous and I love this. It was easy and a lot of fun. I really don't think it would mail well, but it is stining cute for those you can give in person.
I did use polka dot basics 2 for the dotted circles. I really liked the little something it added to the balloons. I have also decided I am going out and getting a simple ruler. Isn't that funny that a simple ruler would be my most needed tool LOL!

simple things

Happy Saturday! Well like a crazy nut I stayed up to put my Papertrey Ink order in last night. It was so much fun I can barely stand it. Okay staying up late wasn't that much fun but putting in the new order was fabulous!!!! One of the other things I adore is seeing what the new blog hop challenge will be. I love thinking about it for a few days before needing to create.

This is a fun and quick card that I made for the PPA challenge this week. I don't normally do a card with a ton of blue, but I was really drawn to the rug, table and chairs. So I went with it
Here is my creation
All of the stamps are Papertrey Ink. I adore their stamps. I used faux ribbon and handwritten notes for this one. I kept it really simple and fun. I think that I am going to give this one to my Mom as she starts school next week and I always like to do a little something for her.
I have some appointments today, but I am hoping to make a few cards and maybe a scrapbook page as well.
It's a good life!

Trendy Thanks!

How exciting to have a challenge site where the examples are all SU! It really makes me want to use all of SU goodies that tend to get a little neglected. I also love that they are changing up the types of challenges. This week it was a sketch challenge. Here is th PPA sketch challenge
Here is my card
Can you believe I have never used this fun set before today!!! Hoooray for PPA, they had me looking through all of my piles to find the perfect set to use. I was also so excited to use my new dsp called Autumn Meadows. It is so much fun. I adore the wood grain papers as well.
I took my papers from the dsp and used the rock in roll technique on the trees. After not lining then up correctly on my first try, I busted out the stampamajig and had no worries from then on.

WOW!!!

I am so excited to have been able to particiapte in 2 challenges with this card. The first was a color challenge from Pals Paper Arts. This is a new challenge site and the ladies give all of their samples in Stampin Up only. I love this idea and I can't wait to see what they have in store forall of us. I haven't been using my Stampin Up stamps as much as I should, so I am totally out of sinc with it. My goal is to make SU only, but I couldn't wrap my brain around that for this challenge, so it is only SU colors LOL!
I paired this with this sketch challenge from 2sketches4you
Isn't that interesting. Here is my take on the two challenges
I really like they way everything came together. I am playing around with a neat ribbon treatment I saw in the Stamp Up catalog. It was a widder ribbon that they tied off at different points to create this look. I used some of Izzy's rubberbands for her hair so that it would match. It didn't look quite like I had invisioned, but I am going to try it again with tighter ties to see if that is the tick.
I also did some major spounging on every layer. I have been watching all of Beate's videos and she talks about spounging all of the time. I never thought about using it on every layer, but the effect is fun. I also really like the stiching I think it tied in the ribbon as well.
This card is for my sister Dana. She finished a half marathon. That is 13.1 Miles!!!!! This will work so well for her and the colors suite her as well. It is hard for me to think of my baby sister as a grown woman, but she really is quite neat. I am so proud of her!
It's a good life!
