BLOG-CATION...STALKER WINDOW FIX (FROSTED!!)

Hellooooooo, my peeps!

Where have I been, you've been asking.....

On a Blog-cation all summer.

Wow, the last time I blogged was MOTHER'S DAY!!
I've missed you guys!
But that hasn't stopped me from

reading all of your posts!

I have been busy working on plans to make my house into a cozy home.

We purchased our present home in January 2006,

and I have HATED IT FOR 7 YEARS!

I've decided, if I hated my home this much,

why don't I just change it and make it my own!

Duhhhh!!!

So here we go!!
My kitchen has been bugging me for a while now.
My kitchen has
2 STALKER WINDOWS!!
Underneath my cabinets, there are two windows that let in a ton of light during the day, but at night I call them my
STALKER WINDOWS!!
My neighbors can see everything in my kitchen when I have the lights on at night...
EEEwwwwww...Right!

Please ignore the pile of dishes in the sink and the cluttered countertops :-)
Just keeping' it real!!
I need to cover them.
So would it be:
New Windows...NO....CHA CHING....$$$
New Curtains.... NO....CHA CHING....$$$
Window Film $20....NO....CHA CHING....$$$
Whalla!!! FROSTED GLASS SPRAY - Home Depot - $3.76!!
MY KINDA DEAL.

Taped off the windows and applied the first coat.
Let dry 15 min.

After 4 coats!!
AMAZING.

See Ya Creepers!!

Aaaahhhh...Magic in a Can!!

I feel better walking around my kitchen at night now.

An easy and inexpensive fix!

Don't you just love it!

BUSY BUG BABBLE~"HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF OUR WONDERFUL MOM'S"

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all you great mom's out there!! Today is your (our) day!! Wow, this morning, my oldest son made me breakfast. He made an egg and cheese wrap with strawberries and oj. Then after church, my daughter made me lunch. It was the best spaghetti ever! I can't believe my ~~babies~~ kids are cooking!! Just yesterday I was changing their diapers!! Time sure does fly by and I'm enjoying every minute of them! Hope you are all having a wonderful Mother's day with your families.

RAISED GARDEN BOXES UPDATE ~"MOTHER NATURE WON'T STOP ME!!"

I'm becoming a regular @ Home Depot lately!

I 'm putting my other projects on hold for now because

I've got to get my Raised Garden Boxes made from scratch,

filled with dirt and ready

so that as soon as this CRAZY weather stops,

I can start my planting!

Cut wood for the Raised Garden Boxes!

I love the smell of fresh cut wood!

I gave Andrew @ Home Depot my plans and he just went to work!

He knew exactly what I needed, he even cut all the pieces for me,

so all I have to do is paint them and put them together! Thanks Andrew, You Rock!

All stacked in the garage, and ready for staining.

(Thats my little dog, Mojo getting her smell-on!!)

Ok....so where is SPRING!! I needed to paint outside today,

and this is what was there to greet me.

MOTHER NATURE had other plans!

It rained, then it snowed, then it hailed, then the sun came out, then it snowed again, then it rained, then it snowed , then the sun came out, then it rained again.........ohhhh myyy. She just could not make up her mind today!!!

So, I decided Mother Nature wasn't going to stop my PROGRESS!

I am WOMAN...HEAR ME ROAR!!!

I decided to take it inside.

I took over the dining area and went to work!

Found these Painter's Pyramids in the Paint Isle at Home Depot.

They are the best for painting chairs, etc. They hold whatever you're painting,

up off the floor so that it doesn't stick to the foor.

HOW COOL IS THAT!

I love finding little gadgets that help make things easier!

Found this Stain in my stash of paint!

Cut my version of those Painter's Pyramids since I needed more in a hurry!

A few of the stained wood for the boxes.

I'll be putting them together soon,

because the dirt gets delivered on Monday!

BUSY BUG BABBLE ~"YOU'RE FIRED & YOU'RE HIRED"

Sorry to say, but I had to "fire" the newest member of my workforce!

She wasn't performing up to my standards! After just 10 minutes of work, I decided she had to go. I am never usually this ruthless, but I need the work to be done properly & efficiently!
Here is the newest, newest, member of my workforce, ....... Her name is Mouse!

She went right to work...

she'll be working "FULL TIME" & Permanent.

She didn't stay shiny and pretty for long!

~~Ok, I'm done now...~~

Gotta get back to "work" !!

BUSY BUG BABBLE ~"STORM"

WOW!! We had a really quick storm today!! First the Hail, then came the rain. I knew it was coming so I quickly went out and spread some EZ-Seed down on my lawn. And boy did it come down after!!

HAIL, everywhere,

Patio....

Front Yard....

On the Van.....It has no home now, since I turned the garage into my wood shop!!!

Then came the RAINBOW....If you look closely, you can see there was a double rainbow!

Beautiful!

BUSY BUG BABBLE ~DECISIONS, DECISIONS....

Hi everyone, we are back from Puerto Rico and getting back into our normal routine!! Boy, do I miss the ocean and the breeze, and the....(I need to stop daydreaming).....
I have made a decision about what direction I would like to take in my life at this moment. I have been scrapbooking and making cards for awhile now, but there is something else that I really enjoy doing and haven't had much time to do. That something is decorating, working with wood, gardening, and making my home the home that I would love. I'm a handy~woman at heart, around my home, and I enjoy learning new ways of updating old furniture and fixing what's broken. I have so many projects to do around my home and I haven't allowed myself the time to do them. I will still be crafting and I definitely will be blogging about all my new ventures! I'll be keeping this blog's name because it describes all the BUSYNESS in my life! :-)....and I hope you all will come along with me, because I have some REALLY FUN STUFF in store!! Here is what my dear husband gave me for my birthday....other than the trip to Puerto Rico! I am so excited to start using it!!
It's an Air Compresser, a Finish Nailer Gun, Brad Nailer Gun, and a Crown Stapler. Now I can work more efficiently with these power tools! Who knew I would be so excited about these kinds of tools!!!

YEAH BABY!!

Busy Bug Babble ~ NO MAIL WHILE I BOOOHOOOO!!!!....

Ok....I'm about to loose my mind........Are you ready for this!!!

1) Still waiting for my (Blog Candy) mail to come! (If it's not here by Monday, I will post it with a pic along with the rest of the FUN STUFF I have ready to give away)

2) My Little Man (my son) broke his arm today !!

Oh my, He got so excited when he realized that his big sister's rollerblades fit him. He couldn't wait for his big brother to put on his protective gear. His older brother only got to put his helmet on, then he took off down the driveway! That's when it happened....I can't handle when my kids get hurt. I wish I could just wave a magic sock, (preferable one that's been washed w/no holes....) and wish all the pain back to me! I am so happy my dear husband was home when this happened! He scooped him up in his arms and rushed him to the Emergency room...OUR HERO...(while I was hiding inside booohoooing my eyes out :(

I am so bad when it comes to things of this nature.

This is how bad I get....when I bring my little Mojo in to get her shots at the vet's, I have to leave the room!

My Little Man was so brave...Dad told me! Here he is after the doctor reset the bone and they came home from the ER.

How do you like the PINK signature!! He's doing so much better now. (And so am I). Thanks for hearing me BABBLE......

Busy Bug Babble ~ "CRICUT GYPSY & IMAGINE UPDATE!"

The Cricut Gypsy and Imagine updates are available that will allow communication and design functionality between the two machines!

The Big update is now available. This update will give greater compatibility between the Gypsy and the Imagine, will allow you to link Imagine cartridges to your Gypsy, adds a few new features to the Imagine, and fixes some calibration, printing and cutting issues. There is also a Cricut Sync update available that was actually released a few days ago so some of you might already have it. The update is 2.0.4.8.

New Imagine Features:
Update All - A button in the Project Preview screen. Add as many images/layers to your queue and then press Update All. You can now add the same color/pattern to all images/layers in the queue and size them all at the same time. This feature is very nice if you are cutting out a bunch of letters and don't want to have to individually edit each letter.
Pattern Cartridges - Now, when you insert a pattern cartridge, the Imagine will show what pattern cartridge was inserted and show a sampling of the patterns on that cartridge. This was added because many people thought their pattern cartridges didn't work since nothing shows on the screen after plugging them in.

The Imagine update should be fairly quick if you have kept your Imagine up to date.

The Gypsy update will take longer. I updated a brand new Gypsy this morning and it took over an hour and a half to complete all of the updates. Another person updated an up to date Gypsy and it took him about 45 minutes. So please be patient and please be sure to follow the instructions on the Imagine update site:

This site has intructions for both the Gypsy and the Imagine.

The Gypsy will now have two apps on it: The Gypsy App, which will funtion as it always has and the Imagine App, which looks just like the Imagine screen. Update Numbers are as follows:

Gypsy App - Version 1.4 (0208:0214)
Imagine App for Gypsy - Version 1.01 (0110:0020)
Imagine - Version 1.01 (0110:0020:0239:202A)
Cricut Sync - 2.0.4.8

1) Get the Cricut Sync program downloaded onto your computer, if you haven't done that already.

2) Update Gypsy using Cricut Sync- see steps above. To get it started, all you need to do is connect it using the USB cord that came with the Gypsy.
3) Plug in Imagine and update that using Cricut Sync.
