Avernal is not a band that I have listened to a lot over the years, even though they have been at it since 1993. However, I do like their 2016 album, and this new one is really hitting me pretty hard as well. Metal-Archives states that they are tagged as death-n-roll here in later years, but I am not hearing any of that on this disc, just thrashing death metal.
