ABC Wednesday—J is for "jazz manouche"

Lunchtime gypsy jazz at the flea market:
We looked in at Chez Louisette
(popular place, where you're entertained
with old-fashioned French chansons).
Lots of fun, but a tad touristy—and I also
think the food and service are
better here at La Chope des Puces.

hearts for sale

Found these little wooden hearts at

the flea market in Paris—
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

Weekend Reflections

Another thing I love about the Marché aux Puces
in Paris:  Most of the vendors don't mind if

you take photos—though it always helps to ask
nicely, or you just might be told to cease and desist.

ABC Wednesday—K is for "keys"

These were at the Marché aux Puces,
and I love they way they're displayed.  It

would be fun to know what each of these old
keys once opened—but then again,
maybe more fun to use my imagination.

Weekend Reflections

Back to the Marché aux Puces to
explore
a shop that had every kind of ribbon, bead,
button, buckle, and trimming you can imagine
(and this sweet reflection).

Flea-market finds

I'm not looking to collect anything these days,
but if I were . . .  Well, these have
made their way into my photo collection.

instant ancestors

At the Marché aux Puces:
I love that these new plastic frames come
with old photos of random strangers,
though I might have a hard time
choosing my fake family.

Stylin' (retro)

This fellow was selling vintage clothing
at the
Marché aux Puces—and he dressed the part too.
(We asked him if his vest was part of an
old band uniform. Non.  Or maybe part of a
military uniform? Non.  Finally he told us that he'd
made it himself—out of old dish towels!)

He had some fabulous old clothes
too.  Can't imagine
where
I'd ever wear any of these, but still . . .

Papillons

Beautiful blue butterflies for sale at the
Marché aux Puces—or maybe you don't like to see
them mounted and displayed like this. (??)
