Skates...we love them!  I remember as a young child roller skating in Italy at Ella's age (3 years old), fearless and full of energy.  Now that our three have the balance, we've been collecting these "shoe in the skate" style for some time now (thrift stores), it's all paying off (the wait), we had a wonderful morning skating.  I think my girls are more timid than I was at this age, maybe it's because I had a big brother to keep up with, but they did really well.
I've got a picture of me at Ella's age saying "Ta-Da!"  I'll have to find it and post it.

This little guy has the best balance of any two year old we've ever had.  He keeps up with the girls, which makes going to the park nice (on my end), not having to be the hovering mother.
