Our Family Camping Trip

Tax season is over and we are so excited!  Andrew had the best idea - to surprise the kids with a little camping trip - in a motorhome!!!

Now, just to let you know, the kids have never traveled or camped in an RV before.  But, this was something that I'm sure was on Samuel's bucket list!  He's been asking to "borrow" a motorhome for years.  :)  Probably since he was 2 or 3?  So what a delight it was for us to give him this surprise!
I have fun memories of my own taking a motorhome trip with my family when I was a little girl.  I remember my little sister was still in diapers, so I was probably 5 or 6?  I remember sleeping in the top above the driver's seat next to my brother, and playing with stickers up there.  I also remember fishing & catching a rainbow trout!  :)  I wonder what Samuel will remember from this little trip when he grows up?

We booked a site at a nearby campground in Valley Center.  The drive was just about 30-40 minutes away - perfect!

The campgrounds had some animals to check out - horses, goats, turtles, ducks and a cow, plus there was a little fishing pond.

We had fun playing frisbee, swinging, playing catch, taking a dip in the icy swimming pool, hiking, reading, riding bikes, cooking hot dogs & s'mores on the campfire, and just hanging out together as a family.  We also visited the nearby Bates Nut Farm (just a few minutes away) and enjoyed all the sights there.

The boys couldn't get enough of the cool little bed above the driver's cab.  They each had their own space complete with their sleeping bags, pillows, flashlights, toys & books.

This one is for Uncle Ben:  "DONUT!"

Our little camper.  He couldn't get enough of the motorhome.  He was so excited about it.  He was constantly going in and out of it - all weekend.  He opened and closed the windows, curtains and vents and such about 50 times all weekend.  :)

So glad to be together as a family for a whole weekend!

Lastly, I couldn't help but get a picture of this.  Kinda reminded me of that scene from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, ha!

To blog or not to blog?

That's the question, ha!  Life is so full & busy it seems.  Its hard to find time to sit down and upload pictures to our little family blog.  As you can see, its been about 2-3 months since I've had the time to sit down and post... but found some time today and thought, why not?

So what's been going on in our lives?  Lets see...

On January 26 Samuel lost his front tooth!
And on February 28 he lost his other front tooth!  He has the most adorable toothless grin!  Don't you think?
Valentine's Day LOVE!  Brothers gotta hug!
With some help from my Mom, the kids passed out some seriously cute valentines at school this year.
Our precious princess - sweet as a rose
She likes to have fun at the park and loves the swings!
Samuel started playing t-ball this spring and he's doing great!  We love watching our little Indian!

Life with these three darlings is pure joy!

Over the past few months, we've had a backyard patio cover built.  We are so happy with our backyard oasis now!  Especially with the warmer weather approaching!  Here are the before & afters.

Some of our biggest news is that Kendall has started walking!  She took her first big series of steps on March 7.  But it wasn't until March 25th that she figured out how to stand up on her own after falling down - and then there was not turning back for her!  Goodbye crawling, hello walking!  :)
She is an official "toddler" now - as busy as can be.  Opening cupboards, emptying drawers, climbing, playing and following Mommy & brothers all over the house.

On Sunday, March 15 we had our 8th annual St. Patrick's Day hooley with the White family.  Kendall's hair is long enough to wear a little spout on the top of her head - and below she is wearing a dress that my mom made for me as a baby.
The leprechaun left a lot of mischief in our house!
But also left behind a little surprise for the kids!
S-N-O-T   R-O-D!!!!

On March 26, we had a fun night at Micah's preschool art show.  His work was a beautiful collage he created.  He titled it "A Picture."  :)  Here it is below(the green one).  We are so proud!

Easter was a lovely celebration with the kids.  I love that the boys are both old enough to understand why we celebrate Easter, and the hope that we have in Christs' resurrection!
We captured a nice family photo of the 5 of us!

All the White family cousins shared in a fun Easter egg hunt outside!
Mamoe & Grandad with their 9 grandchildren... did I mention there are 2 more on the way?  Holton Peter White is due May 6 - and baby girl Hayden is due August 12!  So exciting!
Just last weekend, April 12, we had a lovely afternoon tea baby shower for Mindy & her baby Holton.  We are so excited to meet this little treasure!  He is due on my Dad's birthday, so that will make for an extra special birthday surprise!

And there - we are just about all caught up!  :)  Thanks for scrolling through to see!
TTFN!
