A big post for May!

Here's an update on our month of May!

On May 1, we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary!
Samuel was so sweet and worked so hard writing cards for both of us.  He even decorated the table with rose petals!
Almost every year on our anniversary, we play this old board game that I actually made as a gift for Andrew when we were engaged.  Its called "Marriage Pursuit" (a take on Trivial Pursuit) and has lots of random trivia questions and questions about our wedding and honeymoon.  It is always lots of fun, with lots of laughs!   I smoked him this year.
The day after, we celebrated by going out on a date, just the two of us!  I love this man!

We celebrated Mother's Day at both preschool & kindergarten.  What a special time with each of my boys!  I will forever remember Micah holding my hands and singing to me the words to one of his preschool songs, "...today is a brand new day, and I want to say thank you!"  And I will always cherish my special time with Samuel getting pampered with songs, hugs, kisses, lotion & muffins!

On Saturday, May 9, we were overjoyed to hear the news that our newest nephew, Holton Peter White was born!  Meeting him on Mother's Day was a special treat!
Father-Son & Father-Son!

We also got to meet a tiny little kitty in the family!  My sister's family got a Russian Blue kitten.  So tiny!  Samuel was especially excited, though he took a while to warm up to her!  But, soon he grew quite comfortable holding the kitten!

I've been having lots of fun with Kendall's hair lately.  Its just so fun combing her hair each night after her bath, brushing it in the morning and picking out a matching hairbow or headband each day.  This was our first attempt at pigtails!  The first of many to come!

She loves playing at the park!

And so does Micah!  Especially on mornings before preschool, when we have time to kill after dropping Samuel off at school.  And Samuel got this new balloon-making kit which is oh-so cool!

Kendall has been experimenting with feeding herself lately!  Our little 16 month old is very independent at times.  Here she had a little too much fun with her yogurt!

Samuel was a star at t-ball!  This was his last game, and we are so proud of him!
Not only did he earn the game ball this game, but he got a super cool trophy!

We also loved watching Samuel at his Awana awards ceremony.  We are so proud of our Sparky!  He finished his 2nd book this year and got his 2nd book award!

Over Memorial Day weekend, we had fun camping at the beach!  Here are a few photo highlights!

Lastly, I took the little ones to the Botanical Gardens this week.  Kendall is finally at the age where she can explore more on her own, have fun and get dirty while she's at it!

That's it for now!  Until next time!

Disneyland!

This past week we spent a few days at the Happiest Place on Earth!  This was our long-awaited, much-dreamed-about family trip where just thinking & daydreaming about it somehow helped us all get through tax season 2015.  The kids were counting down the days - and when it was finally the day - counting down the hours until we left!

So much fun was had!

Samuel's favorite ride was Space Mountain.

Micah's favorite ride was Astro Blasters (1st) & Toy Story Mania (2nd).

Kendall's favorite ride, if I could guess, was the Little Mermaid Ride.

Andrew's was California Screamin' and mine, as always, was Tower of Terror.

Micah, being 41" tall, was finally tall enough to ride so many more rides than he could in previous years!  Most importantly, Cars Racers!  And Samuel was finally tall enough for every ride, even California Screamin'!

Unfortunately, the weather was miserable!  Meaning, the forecast stated each day was to be between 89-91 degrees, but in the heat of the day, temperatures hit up to 96.  We made the best of it though - and enjoyed every ounce of shade & A/C we could find.  (Seriously loved that 16-minute long Pirates of the Caribbean ride and the 8-minute long, ultra-cool 'It's a Small World' ride!!)

A fun adventure happened on the Thunder Mountain Railroad when it unexpectedly broke down mid-ride.  Mid-tunnel, actually!   Here are Samuel and I waiting to be escorted off the ride.

Below is a favorite photo shoot of mine...  although they've never seen this movie, I had the kids see if they were strong enough to pull the sword out of the stone.  :)  It didn't budge!

What a sweet pose!  My three treasures - waiting to board the Jungle Cruise.

I have fun memories of hitting up the Penny Arcade & the Mickey Mouse Cartoon Cinema on Main Street as a kid, so we introduced the kids to these fun things.  Micah loved all the old Mickey cartoons, of course.  And it was soooooo cooooool in there!  The boys also loved the old fashioned penny slot and jumped each time the slide changed!

What a precious time we shared as a family!  And oh, the memories we made!  :)  I'm not sure if the kids were talking more about Disneyland before our trip, or after the fact!  Can't wait until next time!
