The Best of March

March has been wonderful.  Pretty much some of the best family news we have to share is that on the evening of March 4, our sweet Micah decided he was ready to pray with Andrew to invite Jesus into his heart as his Lord & Savior.  This is something that we have been praying about for years, and we are so thankful that God has been working in our Micah-man's heart.

A little tradition in our family is to bake cupcakes on a special day like this, so that's what we did!  We told Micah that whenever anyone prays to invite Jesus into his heart, there is rejoicing in heaven - so we are going to have a celebration of our own and bake cupcakes!  The kids helped make them and took turns scooping & stirring.
Romans 10:9 "that if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

In other Micah news, we recently went to his Preschool Art Show where one of his original works of art was proudly displayed!  He titled it, "Rose Tree," and we think it is so lovely!  I'm looking forward to hanging it up at home!

Here is Micah-Man enjoying one of his favorite things at preschool - legos!!!

Samuel
Samuel's school recently held their annual jog-a-thon, or should I say, "Apex Fun Run."   He was so excited to earn pledges and run as many laps as he could!  The kids & I came to watch and cheer him on for race day, March 10.  He ran about 41 laps and we were so proud of him!

For the past 6 weeks, Samuel has been in a Spring Training session for soccer.  He & his buddy Collin both love soccer and love to play together.  (And I was so excited that he was playing on artificial turf - - great for his grass allergies!)  :)
Micah loves to do anything his big brother does - here they are practicing by kicking to each other.

Kendall Rose
Kendall has taken to riding this scooter very well!  She picked it up like a natural and so quickly too, that I had to make a quick run to the store to get her very own pink princess helmet!

She is my girly-girl, and I absolutely love it!  She lets me play with her hair, and since her hair is getting so long, I'm able to try out different hair styles on her!  Often times she does her Ariel doll's hair while I do hers.

On March 16, Kendall had her first pedicure!  She was very excited and sat perfectly still.  Baby pink toes, for my baby girl!

St. Patrick's Day
On Saturday, March 12, we held our 9th annual Irish Hooley at the Whites.  This is always a fun time to gather together with friends & family, catch up, jump in the bouncy house/slide, and eat some seriously good Irish food.  The menu this year included Guinness Beef & Veggie Stew, with Irish Mashed Potatoes, Irish Soda Bread & Guinness Bread.  Yummmmm.

These cousins sure do love each other!

At preschool, Micah was given an assignment to create a "Leprechaun Trap" in hopes to catch that mischievous leprechaun.  It was to no avail - the leprechaun got away and left behind a sneaky mess, both in the classroom & at home on St. Patrick's Day!

The kids woke up on the 17th to messy rooms, green toilets, and a little surprise for each of them left behind by the "leprechaun!"
(Sorry its blurry - but they're smiling and you get the idea!)
Some last-minute "shamrock" mini-pancakes for breakfast!

We sure do love these little lucky charms!

Easter
Last Tuesday Samuel stayed home sick from school, so we brightened things up a bit with dyeing some Easter eggs!  Luckily I found a pack of egg-dye in the back of my cupboard!

Micah sure enjoyed his Easter party at preschool.  Isn't he cute in those bunny ears!

On Easter Sunday Uncle T & Aunty Lauren were in town and we loved sharing the morning with them.  They helped hide the eggs for our egg hunt in the backyard, which the kids loved!

Later that afternoon we shared an Easter meal at Mamoe & Grandad's.  Here are the kids enjoying a special treat!
 Here's a closer look at the treat - - a peep driving a twinkie-race car!
We ended the day with a mission-minded egg hunt - all the eggs were filled with coins, and the kids were given instructions that the money they found was to be given to their choice of charity - their Compassion child, or the offering at church!  Samuel said his Sunday School class was raising money to build a well for a country in need, so he was excited to give to them!

That's it for now!!!  Happy Easter everyone!  He is risen!

January & February Highlights

Hi everyone!  Its has been quite a while since our last post!  I caught myself thinking about our blog, and how it really serves a wonderful purpose of capturing the memories of our lives with our three treasures.  I love how I can look back on any time in the past 8 years and look at photos or possibly a video and remember all the fun.  So to be fair to myself, I really can't stop!  Right?

So to get you all caught up - and quickly - I'm going to post just 1 or 2 pics of each highlight of 2016 thus far...  get ready, go!

January 1, 2016
New Year's Eve we had a fun poker night with our friends, and rang in the New Year (or should I say, Andrew's birthday!).  My mom & dad graciously watched the kids overnight & this was one of Andrew's fun gifts - a whole load of dollar bills carefully rolled up into a roll of toilet paper!  What a surprise!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Kendall Rose!
We had a lovely princess-themed birthday party for you, our little princess!  Your grandparents, some aunts & uncles, cousins, and great-grandma June were there to celebrate you!  We had a coloring contest, and Kendall chose the 2 winners: Rael & Samuel (the top left & top middle pictures!)!  One of your most special birthday presents was this doll house, and the accessories to go inside.  This dollhouse was originally given to me by my Grandma June when I was very young, so it is special to see you playing with it!  Happy Birthday darling Kendall Rose!  You are a sweet treasure, you bring us pure joy, and you are our lovely rosebud!

...and now 2 years old!

January 11, 2016
The last day of Winter break, Andrew took the day off of work and we drove up to Mt. Laguna to see the snow!  This was the kids very first time in real snow (outside of Legoland or SeaWorld snow attractions).  The chilly-day was full of snowball fights, sledding, snow angels, making a snowman, and just having fun as a family!  A day we'll never forget!

Other Special January & February moments
We attended two special weddings, Julia & Jon Schaap (1.16.16) & Heather & Barrett Boone (2.6.16).  What fun nights out weddings are!  It was also incredibly special to have the whole Davidson family (excluding our kids) together at the first wedding!  Kendall joined us for the 2nd wedding, and she loved dancing on the dance floor!

Samuel is a creative designer.  He is especially proud of his "confetti machine."  He keeps asking me how much he could sell it for.  :)

The boys love having "sleepovers" in the bunk beds.  :)

On January 24, we said goodbye to our dear friends the Vogels, who moved up to Northern California.  Tyler & Samuel have been friends since preschool!  They are the sweetest family and we miss them!

On January 30, 2016 Kendall pooped on the potty for the first time!  She is not fully potty trained yet, but she is very open to the idea and way more interested in using the potty than her brothers were at this same age!  Way to go Kendall!!!

Micah & I had a fun playdate with some exotic birds & koi fish one morning!

Andrew invited Samuel to participate in AKT's paper airplane contest - and he won!!  What is unbelievable, is that he folded this plane and flew it farther than any of the other contestants!

Valentines Day at school - aren't these valentines adorable?  Thank you Mamoe for this love-gift, saving this mama a lot of time!

Samuel holding the loot from our small garden bed.  We have since planted 19 strawberry plants and they are growing strong!  Fingers crossed we'll have some sweet berries in June!

On February 21, Andrew took the boys to play golf.  We borrowed some little golf clubs for Micah and he loved playing with Samuel & Andrew!  This was Micah's first official time playing golf with real clubs.

Just for fun... we did some funny photos of the kids & us...  I thought they were hilarious!

Below is a picture of my Mom taken when she was only about 2 years old.  My mom saved the dress, and asked if I would photograph Kendall wearing it.  I'd been holding onto it for the day when Kendall would fit into it, and when we had the free time!  Well, February 29 was the day!  (Didn't my Nana do a good job with my mom's hair?  Way better than I could do!)
Doing a photoshoot with a 2 year old, especially when you want them to hold a particular pose, is very difficult, as you can see!  I had to bribe her with smarties.  :)

But then we captured a great photo!  Well, as close as I could get!
And here they are, side-by-side... what do you think?

We have more exciting updates to come - stay tuned for the month of March update!
