March has been wonderful. Pretty much some of the best family news we have to share is that on the evening of March 4, our sweet Micah decided he was ready to pray with Andrew to invite Jesus into his heart as his Lord & Savior. This is something that we have been praying about for years, and we are so thankful that God has been working in our Micah-man's heart.
A little tradition in our family is to bake cupcakes on a special day like this, so that's what we did! We told Micah that whenever anyone prays to invite Jesus into his heart, there is rejoicing in heaven - so we are going to have a celebration of our own and bake cupcakes! The kids helped make them and took turns scooping & stirring.
Romans 10:9 "that if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
In other Micah news, we recently went to his Preschool Art Show where one of his original works of art was proudly displayed! He titled it, "Rose Tree," and we think it is so lovely! I'm looking forward to hanging it up at home!
Here is Micah-Man enjoying one of his favorite things at preschool - legos!!!
Samuel
Samuel's school recently held their annual jog-a-thon, or should I say, "Apex Fun Run." He was so excited to earn pledges and run as many laps as he could! The kids & I came to watch and cheer him on for race day, March 10. He ran about 41 laps and we were so proud of him!
For the past 6 weeks, Samuel has been in a Spring Training session for soccer. He & his buddy Collin both love soccer and love to play together. (And I was so excited that he was playing on artificial turf - - great for his grass allergies!) :)
Micah loves to do anything his big brother does - here they are practicing by kicking to each other.
Kendall Rose
Kendall has taken to riding this scooter very well! She picked it up like a natural and so quickly too, that I had to make a quick run to the store to get her very own pink princess helmet!
She is my girly-girl, and I absolutely love it! She lets me play with her hair, and since her hair is getting so long, I'm able to try out different hair styles on her! Often times she does her Ariel doll's hair while I do hers.
On March 16, Kendall had her first pedicure! She was very excited and sat perfectly still. Baby pink toes, for my baby girl!
St. Patrick's Day
On Saturday, March 12, we held our 9th annual Irish Hooley at the Whites. This is always a fun time to gather together with friends & family, catch up, jump in the bouncy house/slide, and eat some seriously good Irish food. The menu this year included Guinness Beef & Veggie Stew, with Irish Mashed Potatoes, Irish Soda Bread & Guinness Bread. Yummmmm.
These cousins sure do love each other!
At preschool, Micah was given an assignment to create a "Leprechaun Trap" in hopes to catch that mischievous leprechaun. It was to no avail - the leprechaun got away and left behind a sneaky mess, both in the classroom & at home on St. Patrick's Day!
The kids woke up on the 17th to messy rooms, green toilets, and a little surprise for each of them left behind by the "leprechaun!"
(Sorry its blurry - but they're smiling and you get the idea!)
Some last-minute "shamrock" mini-pancakes for breakfast!
We sure do love these little lucky charms!
Easter
Last Tuesday Samuel stayed home sick from school, so we brightened things up a bit with dyeing some Easter eggs! Luckily I found a pack of egg-dye in the back of my cupboard!
Micah sure enjoyed his Easter party at preschool. Isn't he cute in those bunny ears!
On Easter Sunday Uncle T & Aunty Lauren were in town and we loved sharing the morning with them. They helped hide the eggs for our egg hunt in the backyard, which the kids loved!
Later that afternoon we shared an Easter meal at Mamoe & Grandad's. Here are the kids enjoying a special treat!
Here's a closer look at the treat - - a peep driving a twinkie-race car!
We ended the day with a mission-minded egg hunt - all the eggs were filled with coins, and the kids were given instructions that the money they found was to be given to their choice of charity - their Compassion child, or the offering at church! Samuel said his Sunday School class was raising money to build a well for a country in need, so he was excited to give to them!
That's it for now!!! Happy Easter everyone! He is risen!
