Most of you know that Kendall is potty trained now! Well, being potty trained and sleeping in a crib (which you cannot get out of on your own) tends to lead to some problems, so on Saturday, August 6, we decided it was time to move Kendall into a big girl bed!
This is Kendall waking up from her last nap in her crib. We have loved this crib! It has worked so well for all three of our babies. (If you look closely you can see all the teeth marks left behind on the crib rails - it is well-loved!)
Kendall was very excited about the idea of a big girl bed, as you can see!
Andrew & Samuel worked together to disassemble the crib and build the new bed.
And this is the final result! She was so happy!
Trying it out - so comfy!
The next morning after a good night's sleep.
Now that she can get out of her bed all on her own, we needed to make the door a little easier to open by herself. So, I quickly sewed up this little door jammer thing... it allows her to simply pull and push the door closed without needing to turn the handle. An added bonus is that it makes the door opening/closing almost silent - which allows to sneak peaks at our angel without her noticing!
Now there are lots of good dreams to be had in this princess' bed!
On a side note - she still asks for her crib... she asked for it more frequently right after this change, but is asking less and less.
Another big change for our baby girl is that she is no longer using her paci! On Monday, September 19, Kendall decided she was ready to give her paci's to the "Paci Fairy." who would then give her paci's to other tiny babies that need them. The Paci Fairy left behind a surprise gift for Kendall, since she was so generous by giving her paci's away.
Here Kendall is admiring her beloved pink paci, and giving it one last suck before she tucks it into the bag.
She was excited because she knew the Paci Fairy would be coming that night! It helped Kendall to hold the bag while she fell asleep, and sure enough, she fell right asleep even without her paci in her mouth.
The next morning Kendall woke up a little worried that she couldn't find her paci's anymore... but then she noticed there was a present left waiting for her at the foot of her bed!
And, oh my goodness!!! It was 7 beautiful, sparkling Disney Princess dolls!
So she's still doing good without her paci... But just like the crib, she has asked for it several times, but then she remembers that she shared them with little babies who needed one. :)
We are so proud of our precious princess Kendall Rose. She is growing up into such a beautiful little girl (though she'll always be our baby). We love our little Rose!
