Taylee's personality has always been larger than life, and now that she is able to compose sentences, she is one funny little girl! Some of my favorite recent Tayleeisms:
*When she recognizes a place we have been "Our went there!" i.e. "Our went to Hawaii, mommy!"
*She is a master of delaying things she doesn't want to do, which includes anything I want her to do. She often tells me "brush teefies in another figh (5) minutes." Or even better "Get dressed in a couple few minutes." So which is it, a couple or a few?! ;0)
*Today at lunch we ran into a friend of Kent's. He tried to engage Taylee in conversation. Of course, she didn't say a word, stared awkwardly at him, and made him feel this big. As soon as he was seated across from us (still within hearing distance), she told me "Mommy, can't talk to that." I guess she couldn't decide if he was a him or a her (still a confusing concept!), so she decided on that.
*Taylee has an interesting name for doing number 2 in the potty. She tells me "mommy, have to do a big one." I think it started when Nana babysat one day, and exclaimed over what a "big one" that was after Taylee struggled to do her number two. It stuck. She has even been known to tell me "just a little one" if she just has to peepee. I have a friend whose little boy calls it a poopin. I thought that was a cute name for it, and was going to try and introduce that. But nope, Big One it is. Who woulda thunk?
*We have been working on memorizing her grandparents names. This conversation ensued recently-
Me: Taylee, what's daddy's name?
Taylee: Ket! (Kent)
Me: Taylee, what's mommy's name?
Taylee: Tif!
Me: What's grandpa's name?
Taylee: Tewwy! (Terry)
Me: Taylee, what's grandma's name?
Taylee (obviously stumped): ummmm
Me (in a quiet voice): Is it Karen?
Taylee: Mommy, don't say that. . . Karen!!
Me: What's nana's name?
Taylee: Dev! (Deb)
Me: What's poppi's name?
Taylee: . . . Martian!!
Huh? His name is Dave.
*With the warmer weather Taylee's favorite place to be is outside. Which means that's where I am too. We often have a discussion when heading out about going in the back or the front yard, and using the garage door, the front door, or the back door. Apparently this is confusing her, because she often tells me front door then heads to the back. Or vice versa. Today she gave up and told me "wanna go outside to the back frontyard!"
(I could hardly get the little mover and shaker to pause for a photo today!)
