How has your weekend been so far? I spent most of yesterday working on the Wedding Invites. I have made some progress but we hit another barrier meaning that we need to talk to one of the happy couples again. I am saying we as my husband is helping me with the printing. We did manage to get out for a coffee though as we often do at the weekend.
This is the card I have been struggling with. It is a commission for a 60th birthday card for a chap from his mum but it was his sister who ordered it. I was given the brief of the size which is A4, the colour blue and boats and planes.
The first thing you will notice there are no planes I just couldn't get them to work with the design. I did check that this would be alright. Filling an A4 card is quite a task. I made the background by stamping some nautical stamps with CS Perfect Medium and then heat embossing them with a silver powder. This was then inked over with a couple of shades of Distress ink.
I made the sentiment with Spellbinder dies for the shape and Brittania and Tonic dies for the words and numbers.
These two images came from greetings cards. I used my matting basics dies to cut the images and the mats.
I made this with my Sailing Ship die I used a real map to make the background.
I used these die cuts to balance the design. You can just about the silver anchor in the background.
I hope the lady likes it I will be giving it to her tomorrow. Today I will be doing more work on the invites. Have you got any plans for today?
I would like to enter the May challenge at The Crafting Cafe the theme is Around the World. Boats help you get around the world.
Happy Crafting
