Fantasy Stampers - All About the Girl

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. There is so much to do. Our daughter's rabbits are coming to stay next week and we need to clear the room they will be staying in.  There is a lot of stuff in the room it is going to be a bit of a job to sort it all out and to find places for all the things to go.

The new challenge starts today on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog and the theme is All About the Girl.

The stamp I used was a large one it is Gorjuss - the Runaway by Docrafts.

I stamped the image with black archival onto watercolour card. Then I coloured it with my Spectrum Noir sparkle pens. I keep choosing images that are good to use with the pens as I love using them so much. The sentiment came from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  I made the frame with some of Sue Wilson's Noble dies.

I cut one of the Sue Wilson border dies from the French collection and place it under the image. The backing paper was from my stash.

If you check back on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog tomorrow the winners of the last challenge will be announced.

I hope that  you have a wonderful weekend.

Fantasy Stampers - Steampunk

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here! I hope you have something good planned. If we can we are going to try and tidy the garden before winter. Though the leaves on the Magnolia are all still green and firmly stuck to the tree. They usually all come down in November - bliss. It is a very pretty tree for two weeks in the Spring so I suppose it is worth it.

Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Fantasy Stampers challenge blog and the theme is Steam Punk. Now I have to admit that this was rather out of my comfort zone and I am not sure that my card really fits the bill but it was lots of fun to make.

The stamps I have used are the All Geared Up Background stamp by Heartfelt Creations and the White Rabbit Gorjuss set by Docrafts. I started with a  8" x 8" kraft card blank and I made all the mats and layers. The top layer was white stamping card.  I took the All Geared Up stamp in my hand and I randomly stamped over the page with Perfect Medium and I heat embossed with a silver powder. I did the same again with a black ink and this was heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Finally I inked over the page with Rusty Hinge Distress ink (great name for a colour).
.

I stamped the Gorjuss girl from the White Rabbit set onto white card with Black Archival ink and heat embossed it with a clear powder. She was coloured with Promarkers and then cut out. The face of the clock was covered with Glossy Accents.

Here you can see the detail of the All Geared Up stamp. It has many cogs and screws in the design. It was stamped on to  white card with black archival and heat embossed with a clear powder. Then it was inked all over with a silver ink. To finish the card I used two Spellbinder dies to add extra detail to the design,

There is no sentiment on this card as yet I am not quite sure when I will use it.

I do hope that you have a great weekend and that the weather is kind to us all.

The new challenge on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog starts today it is fun to join in if you check back tomorrow the winners will be posted.

Gorjuss girl in a Hat

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Well the weather has finally cleared up here, most of the day has been full of rain. I hope you have had a good day whatever the weather has been like for you.

Just before I went on holiday I was very lucky to receive a parcel of goodies from the Docrafts Bloggers outreach program. I have already made some Christmas cards and shared them with you (there will be more to come). This little decoupage set was in the pack as well.

So today on this wet day I made a 7" x 7" card using the mini Decoupage set by Santoro called The Hatter.

I embossed the teal card with the A4 embossing Large Bed of Roses by Creative expression I inked it with Black Soot Distress ink to tone down the colour of the card. The backing paper had in my stash from another Gorjuss paper set. The ribbon was sent to me as well there are six types of ribbon in the pack.

This heart I cut with a square die from some packaging that came with one of my sets. It was mounted on black and covered with Glossy Accents.

This shows the detail of the decoupage she is very pretty. To match the the flowers in the image I used a Spellbinder die to cut a poppy.

I have been making a lot of cards without sentiments lately. This gives me a bit more flexibility if I haven't made the card with someone or something in mind.

Here is a link to the Docrafts site where you can find out where to get this delightful set.

I would like to enter this card into challenge 45 at Creative Craft Cottage

Fantasy Stampers - Girl Power

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Here we are at the weekend. This is a special day for me it is actually my birthday. We are meeting my parents and my daughter and her boyfriend for lunch in Winchester. Later on I am hoping to see the new Avengers Ensemble film.

This is my Design Team card for the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog the theme this time is Girl Power. I struggled a bit with this theme and then I remembered some Gorjuss stamps in my stash and I chose this one as I thought she looked determined and thoughtful. She is called The Collector.

I started with an 8" x 8" card black blank. I do like this size there is so much potential.

I stamped the image twice one was coloured one with Promarkers and cut  out by hand the other was left uncoloured and then cut  out with a hexagon die. This meant that it was easy to line the coloured image over the uncoloured one I used a gel glue to give it a bit of height. You also get natural shadow without having to do any colouring.

The sentiment was from a stamp set designed by Sam Poole.

With the  Gorjuss stamp set came some little heart stamps and I stamped one of these in black around the edge of the red mat to add some interest.

I might post some pictures of my special present tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

Gorjuss Birthday card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a fantastic weekend. We are having a quiet day today after all the excitement of shopping yesterday. I am pleased to announce that our daughter got a very smart interview outfit. We remembered to change the clocks, did you?

This is my Design Team card for the Scribble and Scrap Challenge Blog. The challenges are always anything goes so why not join us for some fun and there is a small prize.

Since having a tidy up of my crafty stash I  have rediscovered all my Gorjuss images and decoupage sheets. My daughter has two lovely rabbits and I think this will make a wonderful card for her.

This image was from one of the  decoupage sheets I found. I like using gel glue to make up decoupage as I feel you can shape the pieces more effectively.

The butterflies were made with one of Sue Wilson's dies. I added butterflies to the design as the backing paper has beautiful butterflies all over it.

The heart was die cut  from the backing paper and covered with  CS Glossy Accents to make it into an embellishment. All the buttons I used were from the Gorjuss range.

Sentiment was cut with a Signature die but is was cut to make it less fancy and to fit the space.

I hope you have a wonderful day and that you  get some time to craft.

Gorjuss Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your weekend shaping up? I wonder how many of you are at the NEC? If you are I hope you are having a wonderful time and not spending too much money. We are staying home having a quiet weekend catching up on a few jobs.

This the  birthday card I have made for my cousin. We will actually be seeing her on her birthday as we are going all the way to Lowestoft to see her daughter in a production of Alice in Wonderland before rushing home to collect our daughter and heading home for Easter. Her boyfriend will be joining us for Easter Sunday  and they will both be sewing. They make cosplay costumes for conventions. When they have something finished I will share it here on my blog.

The upside to having  a sort out is that you rediscover things in your crafty stash that you had forgotten that you had. Hence the Gorjuss decoupage image that I found to use on this card. The image determined the colour scheme of the card. I found a beautiful paper in my stash. The ribbon was in my stash too I liked the stripes, like the stripes on her stockings, unfortunately there wasn't enough for a bow.

I stuck the base image to a small piece of the backing paper and then I made a frame for the image. I decorated the frame with some die cuts from a Tattered Lace mini die that I received today. There is an offer in the April issue of Making Cards  magazine to get five Tattered Lace mini dies you just have to pay the postage of £2.95. The little heart I cut from the paper round the image with a small heart die.

I made the flowers with the Sue Wilson Delicate Daisy dies. The leaves were cut with the Sue Wilson Faux Quilled leaves. I have given in and ordered one of those tools Spellbinders sell that get all the little bits out of the dies as I do find this rather tedious.

I do hope you have a great weekend and that you find some craft time. I am planning to do a bit on the wedding invitations.

Happy Crafting.

A Gorjuss Birthday Card

I bought a small  D0-crafts Gorjuss decoupage kit and I teamed this with some bits from my prize for winning Jill's Challenge(on the Do-crafts site) a couple of weeks ago. This gave me a nice image to work with. I used lots of paper from my stash including some mirror card that I find hard to photograph.  The flowers are leather cut with my Sizzix  Bigz die Tattered florals. I also did some stamping and heat embossing with gold detail embossing  powder. The stamps were some that I got free with a magazine unfortunately I can't remember which one.
This card is for my daughter her birthday is at the end of May.

Thank you for taking time to look at my blog. Love Jackie

Gorjuss Lots of Love Card (and we all need lots of that).

This is my first post this week and I won't be posting next week (unless you want to see pictures of me on a school residential)!

Back to the card I made this for a sketch challenge on Do-Crafts. I like doing challenges from time to time as it stretches  what I can do. This one took ages to make as I kept changing my mind. The flowers are die cut leather,I got some at the Farnborough Craft show last week and I was itching to have a go. My Sizzix Bigz die cut through the leather like butter they are stuck down with turbo tacky glue by Aleene's that glue will hold anything. I had some left over bits form a Do-crafts Gorjuss kit and the colours all seemed to go together. The ink used is Distress ink which seemed just right for this project.

Here is the sketch for the challenge that ends on 18th March.
This is the sketch for the challenge which closed on 18th March. Click here to be taken to the challenge.

I was lucky enough to win this challenge. I was thrilled.

Thanks for looking at my blog..
