Texas Trip

I had the pleasure of flying to TX for a girls weekend with  my wonderful Baylor friends this past week.  Here is a quick re-cap.

Top Ten Things to Do in TX
1.  Road trip.

2.  Cocktails in the pool.

 3.  Sunset boat ride.

4.  Reminisce and reconnect with great friends....
(and meet sweet new additions)....

5.  Endure the heat.  Yes, the thermometer says 117 degrees.  Ug.

6.  Lake time.

7.  Eat tomatoes.

8.  Dinner - shrimp tacos?  Maybe.

9.  Drink wine and talk for hours....wait, no....DAYS on end.

10. Lunch in the great city of Austin.

Seeking Adoption Insight

Lately, Patrick and I have become very intrigued with the adoption option for finding our little miracle.  We have always loved the idea of adopting and, while we aren't changing the path we are currently on now, we are starting to research this option more in depth.

We feel a bit overwhelmed with the many decisions that need to be made to take the first steps.  With doctoring, it was such a whirlwind of medical professionals telling us what we needed to do next.  That isn't the case with the adoption process.  There are many options, many decisions and many choices.  Quite frankly, it is overwhelming.

So....I am asking for some help from everyone and anyone who has chosen to follow our journey via this blog.  Please know that we are only scratching the surface at this point.  We obviously want to know for sure if this is something that fits "us."

If you, or someone you know, has had an experience with adoption (positive or negative) - Patrick and I would love to hear from you.  Any heartfelt advice or suggestions for beginning this process are appreciated (timelines, cost, agency suggestions, overall experience, etc).  We figure asking those who care enough to follow our journey for advice is a good place to start.

You can e-mail this blog to someone by clicking on the envelope at the bottom of this post.  You can comment on this blog or e-mail us at bethanyfunaro@hotmail.com

Thanks!

True Friends

I learned a valuable lesson about friendship this week.  I received this facebook posting today and loved it.  True friends are just that..."true"....no matter what.  This is a sweet story about true friends.  I had to post - it will melt your heart, especially if you're an animal lover like I am.  Click on the link below and enjoy!  ;)

Where has the Time Gone?

 Wow.

Where does the time go?  I had my 15 Year High School Reunion this weekend.  It certainly doesn't feel like it has been that long!  It feels like just yesterday we were walking down the hallways of East High School - and now, here we are 15 years later - some of us knee deep in careers, marriage and motherhood.  It was GREAT to re-connect with the past.

I am lucky to have kept in touch with a group of girls (thanks, in part to facebook)  ;)  I hosted a get-together at my parents' pool - Cougars and Cocktails (our high school mascot is a cougar...but, made me giggle to think that we are embarking on that female status in our lives, too, so the theme felt perfect).  ;)
On the Menu:
Fruit and Fruit Dip:
8oz cream cheese, mixed with a jar of marshmallow cream - great with fruit!

Cucumber sandwiches:  8oz cream cheese mixed with a packet of dry italian dressing, spread on rye bread, topped with cucumber and sprinkled with dill.

Both recipes are SO easy and SO good.  ;)

Mimosas...of course!  ;)
Cougars in the sun!  ;)
Cheers!

It is such a blessing to have friends who have been in our lives since high school.  Who knew that we were making lifelong friends way back then?
