CAS Rainbow Card

Hey guys
I ave a quick cared to share with you all today...I have made a CAS rainbow card along with some fusy cut clouds. I used Lawn Fawn rainbow die to make my rainbow....and I had no dies for clouds so I made my own from textured cardstock...this was a quick card and I spent most of my time in diecutting the rainbow.
I die cut the rainbow from 7 colors of cardstock 3 times and then I layered stacked them together to get a more dimentional rainbow. Then I fussy cut my clouds and outlined it using Silver Stickles and arranged them above and behind my rainbow to give the feel of "rainbow emerging between the clouds". I heat embossed my sentiment on a white cardstock and added it to my card panel along with some gold sequins. To add more dimension, I mounted this panel on my 6" by 6" card using dimentional tape.

I also made my won envelopes using same cardstock and washi tape....used WRMK envelope punch board. I hope you like my card. I am putting this up at the following blog challenges:
  1. Crafty Gals Corner Challenge# 197 - 3+ layers - My card has 6 layers - The panel is mounted on card. The rainbow is created by adhering diecuts 3 times and the clouds add another layer.
  2. Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes #398- #399
  3. Addicted to stamps and more Challenge #352- Make your Mark - have outlines the clouds using sliver stickles.

No Stamping Mixed Media Cards!!! (FREE TUTORIAL)

Hey guys
Today I have 3 mixed media cards to share with you all along with tutorial to make them. I have been wanting to make cards with stencils instead of stamps and this is what I came up with....there is no stamping on these cards...which is quite a challenge on its own.

Here is a tutorial for these cards

  • I started with watercolor panels from ItsyBitsy and cut 3 panels to 5.5"by 7.5". I added texture to this using Mixed Media Paste and Finnabair stencil.

  • I left this to dry on the side and started to work on my flowers. I decided not to use any stamps and choose to use this flower stencil from ItsyBitsy to create my own flowers. So I taped it to the watercolor panels and then stencilled using Distress inks using Shaded Lilac, Spun sugar and Squeezed Lemonade.
  • I then heat embossed the flowers with gold embossing powder and an embossing pen so that I could not color the flowers with ease. I am not watercolor expert and so I wanted to water to be contained in each petal so I could do some quick coloring. Just for fun, I used Lindys Magical shakers to color my flowers...these are super fun and leave an amazing shine. Once it was dry, I fussy cut all my images out.

  • This is so fun to look at.....I did the leaves in the same manner too. I added some magicals ( Black Forest Black Magical Shaker and Frozen Jack Frost Magical Shaker) on a watercolor panel and spritzed it with water and then I diecut my leaves from it. My sentiment is also a diecut from MFT and I layered it 4 times to get a thick sentiment and the top layer is from gold foil paper....looks really fun.

  •  I arranged all my elements on the panel using some sisal fiber and then layered the panel on the card to add more dimension and texture. I finished my card with black splatters and some pearl drops here and there.

Happy Birthday Dude! - Dt post for LCC challenge Blog.

Hey guys
I have a DT inspiration post for you all today for the Let's Craft and Create Challenge blog. The theme for this month is Hey Dude! and so I have a birthday card keeping this theme in mind. This challenge runs for an entire month and you still have 2 weeks to put in your entries. Please click the link HERE to go the challenge blog.
I am putting this card up at the following blog challenges:
  1. Cards and more challenge #191- One Layer cards
  2. Addicted to CAS challenge#171 - One Layer Cards
  3. CWS challenge#17 - Boys to Men
  4. Addicted to stamps and more challenge#255 - Photo Inspiration - This picture has inspired me to do the layers of balloons on my card.
  5. Word Art Wednesday Challenge Week #296-297 - Anything Goes
  6. Scrapping4fun challenge #97- Anything Goes
This is a fairly simple card and it took me hardly 15mins to do this.So I started with a standard A2 size card base in white and stamped balloons on it using 4 different distress inks...all in the shades of blue....Tumbles Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty ocean and Faded Jeans. I stamped the same image with different colors in each row. You can add more rows with more shades but I had 4 shades and so I did 4 rows.
What's the fun of using distress inks without a little water... so I sprinkled a little water and waited for the magic to happen. Lifted the water with a tissue napkin and dried my card with a heating tool.
Then, I added silver strings to my balloons with a silver sparkle pen....but i did not press my pen too much and lightly drew all the strings using a t- ruler.
To finish my card, I stamped the sentiment with versamark and Black embossing powder from Wow. Sprinkled some fun sequins to give it a little hit of sparkle.
So here I finish my quick and easy birthday card...I hope you liked it and will give it a try. Thank you for reading this post and have a great day ahead.

Summertime Birthday -Watercolor card.

Hello guys
Welcome back to my blog. I have a watercolor card or you all today. everything you see from the panel to the butterfly is all watercolored using distress inks...They are my favorite goto for watercoloring. I am new to this technique and have recently stumbled upon it and trying my hand as much as I can. So, here I have made a Birthday Day with lots of bright coloring and splatters which I feel would be perfect for a girl...... or even someone young at heart.
I am putting this card up at the following challenges:
  1. Addicted to Stamps and more challenge#250 - Photo Inspiration (Got inspired by the colors in this photo)

  8. Scrap and Craft Challenge#5 - Summertime + Butterflies
  9. Scrapping4fun Challenge #94- Birthday
  10. The Ribbon Girl - July challenge - Anything Goes
So, I started with a textured white cardstock which I had bought maybe years back and I hoarded it for as long as I could possibly....Today was the last piece I could do with it and I am glad with the way my card turned out to be.....Ok ...so back to the process. I started with the cardstock cut to standard 41/4" by 51/2" and then generously spritzed it with water and then started watercoloring my panel. I have used 3 Distress inks - Mermaid Lagoon, Pinked Raspberry and Crushed olive. They blended and forned Violets and hints of Oranges. I let this panel air dry and it took good 4 hours before I could work with it again. I cut my front panel 1/4"from all the sides and then divided into 3 parts and assembled everything on a standard A2 size white cardbase (270gsm)
The Butterfly is from Mudra Stamps and I loved this stamp set....so much can be done with it. I heat embossed this stamp with white and then watercolored the geometric pattern with the 3 distress inks I used on the panel. I mixed then at few places and the result is simply unexpected.
Once the butterfly was all dried, I fussy cut it out and then adhered it to my panel along with some cheesecloth. Finished my card with the sentiment from the same stamp set which I heat embossed with White. To add more interest, I added sequins and splatter of white acrylic color.
I hope you like my card. Thank you so much for stopping by.
