Cherating Trip Details

According to the itenary set by my ex-colleague V, we were to meet up at the Projet station right before the Karak toll at about 8am. Because we're car pooling, I have to get up early to meet up with a few guys travelling from Klang at about 6:30am. After a detour to pick up another guy, we managed to reach the station right on time. Some of the others are already waiting while there are still 2 cars yet to arrive. So we had some light breakfast at the 7-11 (I thought all Projet convenience stores are called Destina, when did it became 7-11?)

On Karak

About 8:45am we managed to gather everyone and began our journey to the East. The highway is quite straight forward so along the way there's not much complications. We stopped by a few rest areas before approaching Kuantan at about 12pm. Planned to have lunch at the famous kopitiam in Kemaman, but we accidently went into Kuantan town. Kuantan is a mad town with countless traffic lights. Wasted almost an hour just to get out of it. Finally we past by Cherating and went into Kemaman town around 1:30pm.

Some fancy clock tower thingy in Kuantan town

The Kopitiam is filled with people, and we had to wait for a while before getting a place. The parking system there was really confusing, my ex-boss said probably it's done on purpose so they can collect more fine... Haha. Probably because we're late, most things were sold out. Even the "roti bakar" they're left with the buns version. It was good nevertheless. After the meal I saw the 91-year-old owner sitting at a corner. I smiled to him and he made a signal asking me to go over. Chatted for a short while with him asking me where we're from and stuffs. Then we left for the turtle sanctuary.

Hai Peng

The sanctuary is not a very big place. It's located just outside of Club Med cherating. Inside you can see a pool with some grown up turtles and another smaller pool with a few snapping turtles. In another room we found several turtle hatchlings in a plastic box and another side we can see a mini museum. After the tour we left for our resort.

Turtle at the sanctuary

After checked in, we rested a while and we're supposed to go out at about 4:30pm for some snacks. But unfortunately we were left behind and only 4 cars went. So we just went for a dip in the pool and later the sea. When they came back, they "tapau"-ed some otak otak and another type of kuih in banana leaf for us, leaving out the lekor because it's only nice to be eaten hot on the spot. That's how I missed my lekor :(

Later at night we went to a place in Kemaman for seafood dinner. And after the dinner we went to the turtle sanctuary again, this time to see the staff release some turtles back to the sea. By the time we arrived, they just finished releasing a bunch. We're quite disappointed to have missed it, until the staff mentioned that they have more to release upon receiving donations. (Haha, does that count as bribery? :P ) So we donated some money and get to see a bunch of turtle hatchlings racing for the sea. Quite a fun and interesting experience I'd say.

Later we went back to the resort and have our "drinking session". We brought a few cartons of beer to be shared among us. Drank until about 1:30am before we call it a night.

Yum seng!!!

The next morning, I set my alarm to ring at 5:15am so that I won't miss the sunrise. Waited until about 6:10am when the sky starts to show some signs of light. Some of the bunch joined me as we go to the beach side. All of us presence at the beach took a lot of shots of the sunrise. Then as the sky gets brighter, there are even a bunch of people who laid their yoga mat and have a yoga session right on the beach.

The first light that my camera phone can capture (looks like crap :P)

Nice tone... too bad the sun is hidden behind some clouds on the horizon

Finally see the "egg yolk"

Pinch pinch "egg yolk"... haha

We then proceed to have our buffet breakfast. And after some rest, we played some beach volleyball and ping pong. My friend's son went to the seaside and caught quite a lot of hermit crabs being washed up the shore.

At about 12:30pm, we checked out and went out for our lunch. Lunch was good, better than the dinner the previous night, but comes with a price to pay (Almost doubled our dinner's price). After lunch we proceed to a dry goods store and some of them bought salted fishes, squid snacks etc. At about 3pm, we left for home.

Yum yum lunch...

The sign says it all :P

Back from Cherating

Yup, got home at about 7:30pm just now. Very tired... Will update the details and some pictures later, now just don't feel like doing it. Haha...

Conclusion is that I enjoyed this trip very much, except that it's a little too rush. Would've been better if it's a 3 days 2 nights plan :D

The only regret is that I missed the lekors... ah never mind, there's always next time :P

Traffic Jam

When I said traffic was smooth yesterday, I guess I spoke too soon.

Today's traffic was a nightmare. I left office at about 6:45pm today, and reached home almost at 9pm. This is like double the time it usually takes me to reach home from work, WITH the normal jam. Heard on the radio that there's some road construction work going on around Sunway... ROAD WORK AT RUSH HOUR? Idiot people are at it again. And mind you, this is not the first time I've encountered such situations. There was once, on my way to work (about 8am), they closed down 2 lanes of a 3-lane stretch on the highway. What were they thinking? Really "boleh" lah.

*UPDATED*

I'm now packing my bags and doing some work stuffs and blogging at the same time. Will be spending my weekend with a bunch of ex-colleagues in Cherating.

Woohoo... Cherating, here I come. :P

Actually I've been there before, and as some would say, there's really nothing much to see. But it's the companies that matter, right? Hope I have a chance to grab some nice nice lekor on the way too :P

Long Day

Had to leave home for KL very early today to set up and man our booth on an event by the principal company. Took me about 40+ mins to reach the venue. If I'd have left home later, it's probably gonna take me 1 and a half hours.

Event was quite successful, not much glitches. After the event went for a meeting before leaving KL at about 5:30pm.

Something I noticed, today's traffic seemed very smooth compared to usual. I have much experience leaving KL at around that time and it was always very jammed up, but surprisingly today was all the way smooth sailing driving with a little bit of slow traffics here and there. Is it school holidays already? hmmm... *scratches head*

Anyways was quite tired after the whole day event + meeting. Better get some sleep earlier today... err wait I still got stuffs to do... *sigh* hehe

Unfathomable Entry (II)

So, continuing from the previous post, with assumption that we can ignore the high heat and high pressure, plus the lava and stuffs won't leak out, we dig a tunnel through earth.

If we're able to make the tunnel all vacuumed up (i.e. no friction, no energy loss), if we dump something through the tunnel, we should be able to have a scenario as below:

(Note: Got some problem getting the animated GIF to work in thumbnail. Until I get it fixed, you'll have to click on the image to see what I mean)

So in this case we could probably travel from one place to another (example: India to Mexico in illustration) and back using the power of gravity.

You get what I mean? :P

Unfathomable Entry

Recently I was reminded of something I thought about long long time ago. You know, in a way, I'm quite a thinker kinda guy. If left with nothing to do my mind will wander and think of all kinds of things.

The thing is about gravity. We all know that source of gravity pretty much is at the center of the earth. Assuming that we ignore the high heat at the core level, as well as the high pressure, if we are able to drill a tunnel through the center (as seen below), if something fall through the tunnel, it will fluctuate between the center, and ultimately stop there.

Err... -_-"

HAHAHA...

PS: actually story haven't finish... please stay tuned till the second installment :P

Happy Birthday Winn Winn

Happy belated birthday, bestest Winn Winn. (Aiyak, late again :P)

Informal Meet Up

Had a brief meet up with 2 leng lui bloggers at Mosin TTDI after my dance class today. We were kinda curious of the naan offerings and thus ordered a Taj Mahal Naan to be shared.

That's the so called Taj Mahal Naan... looks like pizza innit? Got mayo, cheese, chopped vege, and chicken... err... supposedly. Speaking of which, I don't recall tasting any chicken in there... hmmm... :P

Meetings Again

Reminds me of some forwarded mail I received before... it goes something like this "开会开会,不开怎么会" etc etc...

This week I'm flooded with meetings... Monday I had internal meeting, Tuesday meeting with partners, Wednesday meeting with principals, Thursday meeting with new potential customers, Friday company orientation (haha after like 3 months only I get orientation... how silly :P)

All these meetings really makes me 头昏脑胀 >_<

PS: aiyak... for the 2nd time I left comments on someone's blog with my logged in ID where I usually just put a nickname... wanted to keep a low profile but still 穿帮... I think I need more sleep :P

*EDITED*

Found it... tadaa!

Happy Birthday May May

Actually should be belated by now I think... Ah May, your actual birthday is on yesterday isit? :P

Since you were reminded of that "napet" song as you mentioned in Winn Winn's comment, I'll dedicate this song to you...

HAHAHAHAHA :P

Salsa Social Studio Party

My friend who's very much into dancing brought me to the Havana Estudio in TTDI for a salsa party. Basically they start off by teaching newbies some basic salsa steps, then open up the dance floor and let everyone dance and mingle around. Pretty cool. Quite impressed to see some of them dance real well, after learning for only about a year.

Now that my latin dance class is coming to an end (next week is my last class)... maybe I'll get my friend to teach me some salsa ;)

Relationships...

Was having a chat with my cousin earlier on the phone. She wanna intro some girl friends to me and then we talked about relationships and stuff. She herself is casually dating but have not gone steady I believe... and she brought up a pretty good point. She mentioned that after a while, she kinda get used to the lifestyle of being unattached, and sometimes she does wonder if she want to get attached or not because it will change her lifestyle.

Actually I find that kind of true myself... Although sometimes I do feel lonely and wish I have a girlfriend, other times I couldn't be bothered much... Could be because I have some fear of change inside me... No idea...

I don't know how to continue this post... mind is a lil scrambled up right now... haha

PS: I just got to know of a friend's failed relationship... it kept me wondering for a while there about this relationship thingy...

Company Event Ended

The event was quite successful I guess. Nope I didn't win in the singing contest... because they didn't have the song that I requested, and I chose a song I'm not too familiar with... my bad I guess.

At least me and my team win something in the tele-match session.

Tiring day...
