In lieu of hours... I'll stick with kJ produced. The numbers for April are low with a week roughly tap-less, but in the course of a year a week here or there dropped won't make much difference overall. Just commuting is around 800-1200kJ a day and would boost April up probably significantly on a single month basis.
And like the races in the last year, i'm not looking at these numbers to compare to anyone else, i'm looking at them to set the bar for myself for next year. Discovery phase is still in full swing i guess.
Feb: 17,000 kJ
Mar: 22,600 kJ
Apr: 20,400 kJ
May: 25,150 kJ
How many miles? How many hours? the miles i think is less important than the hours.
kJ/hour is a much better indication of race potential than a measure of average speed, at least so it seems and a few conversations i've had seem to support that hypothesis.
Since getting the PT i'm close to 89,000 kJ recorded.
Right now i'm probably slightly faster than my pathetic 800kJ/hour effort at BKR... three tough hours, although there will always be a * there... ya know, what if water bottles were there... anyway it is what it is.
I dunno what i'll need to put together for the cross season, what i do know is that however well i manage to stick to this plan of mine (if said plan exists) it won't really matter. Why? Cause racing cross is just so freaking much fun. I can't wait to build on the skills from last year. The body returning to cross being natural, the turns, the barriers... ahhh how i miss you cross...
Good luck to everyone racing this weekend.
respect,
g
