 | this is 'highly likely' (favourite phrase in bizlaw class now) to be apple's biggest booger in design since it was established. i conceived it to be entirely impossible when it first appeared as a rumour; now it looks like the ugly brother of creative zen v, only fatter. at this point in time, i'm really glad i got the student promo of the free 'old but sexy' ipod nano (which is unfortunately causing big problems in the documentation for the rebate).  | woah. i'm pretty glad i didn't buy the $69 zen stone when it was first introduced at the beginning of GSS. now they have zen stone plus($99) with a led screen, which greatly heightens its appeal, and lowers it's battery life by only .5 hours(?). ps. checked out zen wav at a creative shop today, and it turns out that sound volume and quality's actually pretty decent. i'm sorely tempted. sigh.  | thanks to kevin for providing crucial information, i've finally configured my wmp to display chinese text. yayness! of course, the intermediate steps are long and drawn out (as they usually are in windows fixes) as i scoured the internet for files which are required to complete the installation of asian text support. therefore, this is not recommended unless you have plenty of time to spare or the original windows xp and office xp discs. am now in the midst of composing an alternate speech for my CAAS interview on sunday. i'm surprised the presentation is still on the same boring and impossible topic it was 2 years ago: cite an example of how a challenging experience that you encountered made you a better person. o.0 i am extremely tempted to fail this interview by telling them that there has been no such example and that i was born a "better" person, and not by some single, isolated evolutionary experience. and if i had to present something, it would be nothing more than a blatant lie. scholarship interviews love bullshitters.  | i don't usually endorse apple products, but this one's hard to miss. unveiled by steve jobs at the macworld expo in san francisco, the iPhone will be the most beautiful and fulfilling gadget ever produced on the face of this earth. i'll provide a summary: complete touchscreen technology (means no thumb-damaging wheel scrolls, but i'm not sure if speed sms will work), integrated memory of 4GB or 8GB, 2.0 megapixel camera (yet to know if autofocus is incorporated), proximity and ambience sensors, wifi and bluetooth, and last but not least, mac OSX(!) which also implies gazillions of nifty applications. whee! :) if creative doesn't up their game, they're losing a formerly-loyal consumer here.
