Cogs, Gears and Textures for A Vintage Journey

Hi everyone, happy September!!
Today sees the start of a new challenge at A Vintage Journey, and this month I am actually the host of the challenge. So this is what we would like you to do:

Let us see you create amazing textures on your cogs and gears. Embossing powders, pastes, rusting or gilding waxes, acrylics ..... whatever your imagination suggests. Just remember to create your project in one of our preferred styles: vintage, shabby, mixed media, art journaling, industrial, timeworn or steampunk.

Here is what I made:

I will do a full tutorial with step out photos of how I made the bag on the third Friday in June over at A Vintage Journey, so today I will just share a few photos here, and do hop over to the A Vintage Journey blog to see the fabulous projects my teamies have created, and we would all love it of course, if you played along with the challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by & have a nice day!
Until Next Time,
Hugs & Love,

Ann

Rustic Charm

Hi everyone,
Today is the start of a new challenge over at A Vintage Journey. Lovely Astrid is hosting this month's challenge and her chosen theme is 'Rustic Charm' and Astrid says 'Rustic describes a design that is natural, rough, aged and casual. We would love to see you create a project using these elements: think nature inspired textures and simple and earthy colours. Just remember to create your project in one of our preferred styles: vintage, shabby, mixed media, art journaling, industrial, timeworn or steampunk.' I'd created a decoration for Astrid's fabulous theme. I hope you like it.

I have added gesso to a piece of chipboard. Let it dry. I sprayed the chipboard with Walnut Stain, ground espresso Distress Spray Stain, and some water. Dried with a heat tool and picked up extra ink from the surface.

I added the Distress Spray Stains and water to a Glass Media Mat, then swiped an old book paper through the inks, picking up a little of color. Let it dry. I tore a piece of corrugated cardboard and applied white gesso in select areas with my finger. I've used a Tim Holts Idea-ology Lace Baseboard Frame to frame my Found Relative as the focal point.

As always thank you for joining me today and don't forget to hop on over to A Vintage Journey to see all the other fabulous makes for this challenge. And of course, I hope you find the time to join us too.

Thanks so much for stopping by & have a nice day!
Until Next Time,
Hugs & Love,

Ann

FIND JOY IN THE ORDINARY

Hi everyone,
It's the fifth Friday of the month, so a Tag Friday for us all over at A Vintage Journey! For May's Tag Friday I decided to make a tag with the Infusion Color Stains from PaperArtsy. I really like this set of Feathered Friends Die-Cut.

To begin I painted gesso on to my tag, sprinkled a little bit of the powder then spritz of water. I overlapped my color while everything was wet and let the colors blend. When it dry completely. Stamping some images on the tag. I die-cut the bird from watercolor paper coloured with Distress Oxide ink and Distress ink using Sizzix Feathered Friends and Wildflower Thinlits. Then, adhering those pieces and the sentiment on the tag.
So please hop over to A Vintage Journey and be inspired by all the beautiful tags the Creative Guides have created this month!
Thanks so much for stopping by & have a nice day!
Until Next Time,
Hugs & Love,

Ann
