Welcome New Baby

Hi there.  I hope you're doing well and having lots of craft time!

Not long ago one of my girls wanted to know if I had some baby cards.

We couldn't find any. Gasp!

I have one now.

This Penny Black pup was stamped and colored with watercolor pencils.
His balloons are cut from some snippets of Inka Gold Smoosh.  I used some for
the larger circle too.  The balloon strings are hand drawn.

A little dry embossing and a loopy sentiment and I have a baby card.

I'll take this to....

'Anything Goes'
or
'Something New'
(New Year, New Home, New Baby, New Job, New Stash...)

Banners for Baby

There are a couple of challenges out there calling for banners.

I wasn't sure what to do but ended up taking the sketch literally
and making a baby card that I'm going to be needing this month.

and

I used my banner punch and some snippets of paper to make this.
So I'm off to
Pixies Snippet Playground

Virginia's View Challenge #17

I think these banners qualify as homemade embellishments.

Something else I'd like to share with you....

dressed up version

This was made from the bed that I slept in as a toddler.

Several of my nieces, all 3 of our girls, Luke and Jack have slept in it.

Jack has graduated to a bigger bed now and
I suggested that the bed would make a cute bench.

My very talented son-in-law went to work on it.

He even upholstered the cushion.

I LOVE it!

It still functions, doesn't take up as much space
and brings back some happy memories.

Thanks for the visit.

Enjoy!

Baby, Baby

Edited to add links to the baby dress templates.
Scroll down.

My sweet friend Rena became a grandmother yesterday.

I'm so excited for her.

This will be in her mailbox when she comes home from meeting her grandson.

I started by stamping this retired SU stamp "Two by Two" on
Arches watercolor paper with Memento Tuxedo Black

Then I watercolored by swiping Stampin' Up! markers on an acrylic block
and picking up the color with an Aqua Painter.

The water is sponged on.

That allows me to take this to

Lions and Lambs, oh my!
Simon Monday Challenge Blog
I have lions.

While I'm  on the subject of babies....
My Merry Monday teamie, Katie (Sweet n Spiffy)
recently had a baby girl.

Here's the card I made for baby Adelie.

You can find a template here.

and this one for big sister Ansley!

A template similar to this is  here.

Thanks for stopping by and for your comments.

For Baby

I needed some baby cards for my stash.  I love this little baby duck and even though he's retired, I inked him up.

Less is More is asking for NEW BABY cards this week.

CASology's cue word is

The small white panel is a stark contrast against the darker background.

Addicted to CAS  has a code word
This will go for a new baby.

Addicted to Stamps is having a CAS week and this is definitely CAS.

That's quite a few challenges for this one itty, bitty card!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Easy Events
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento), SU Markers (Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Tangerine Tango)
Paper:  Gumball Green, Snippet of Watercolor Paper (?), Whisper White (inside)
Other: Candy Dots

The snow is nearly gone but it was nice while it lasted.  If you had to get out and shovel, my condolences.  It's so much easier to enjoy when you're sitting inside and just looking out!

Thanks so much for the visit.

Enjoy!

Baby Duck

DD told me last week that several of her friends are expecting babies.  This will come in handy when she raids my stash for cards.

CAS on Sunday is calling for BABY CARDS this week.

Pixies Crafty Workshop is always looking for cards with snippets.  This little stamp is perfect for using snippets.

And here's another that I did while I was at it.  Just in case one is a girl.

This stamp is a NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff).  It's a shame that the set was retired before I ever used this stamp.  I think it will stay on my shelf.  It's a quick and easy baby card.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamp: Easy Events
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango (card 1), Daffodil Delight (card 2)
Other:  Candy Dots, Square Lattice EF (card 1), Lacy Frame (Spellbinders), Copics

Thanks so much for the visit.

Enjoy!

Two by Two

Here's another NBUS.  I've lost count of how many I've used this summer.  And, did you notice, I used some of that hoarded DSP!

I hadn't used this stamp because I shy away from Watercoloring.  I don't know why because I really enjoy it after I get started.

The layout was inspired by this card by Wendy Wexler.

Melissa, at CASology, just had a baby girl.  They're having a baby shower for her over there this week.  Welcome to the world, Bryna! Congratulations to the proud family.

And I'll take this over to Pixie's Crafty Workshop.  I  haven't seen signs of the water guns on the playground this week, but the ark might be a safe bet just in case!

Almost forgot the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.  This week it's Anything Goes! Gotta love that!

This fits for a couple of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges at SCS.

I didn't keep up with the ink refills that I used.  Sorry about that.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Two by  Two (retired), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Jet Black StazOn, Ink Refills, SU Marker (Marina Mist)
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, DSP, Watercolor Snippet

Baby Dress for Olivia

We have a new baby in the family.  Her name is Olivia Wren and she is my great-great niece.  I think.  I always get confused when it gets beyond the great stage.

I made a similar baby dress card about 3 years ago.  You can see that post here.

I was inspired by this card by Sherry Phipps.  The link to the template doesn't work anymore.  I found another template here.  Be forewarned.  I did not download the template since I already have one.  Sometimes these sites can add unwanted little buggies on your computer.  Make sure you have a good virus scan in operation.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Stamps:  None
Ink:  None
Paper:  Pretty in Pink (retired), Whisper White

Baby Pins

A friend asked if I had any baby cards last week.  When I checked, I had one.  So it was baby card making time.  Here's one.

I used a snippet of some beautiful baby paper that a friend gave me soon after my granddaughter was born.  I think she thought I would do a scrapbook for Emmy.  She didn't know then about my hoarding tendencies for DSP!  So I only use it a little bit at a time.  I get to enjoy it longer that way. Thanks again, Karen!

I don't usually post more than once in a day, but I want to get this card in the Simon Says Challenge before it closes. You may remember from the previous post that they want us to

It's getting a bit prickly around here!  We want to see you use pins, paper clips, clothes pins, brads etc. on your projects for this week!  Get creative, folks!  We can't WAIT to see your PINS!

See those little safety pins?  I bought them to use on baby cards.  That was about 5 years ago.  I think they must multiply because I don't remember buying that many.

Hopefully Pixie's Playground will let me back on the playground for a second time today.

Not much to put in the recipe so if you have any questions, you can email me.

Thanks for stopping in again.

Enjoy!

Rock and Roll

Today's CAS Challenge  at SCS is to do a card with a Rock & Roll theme!  I'm really out of touch with Rock & Roll music, so I was thinking I could  use the rock & roll technique for inking up a stamp.  Then our youngest daughter (Luke's Mommy) called with news from the ultrasound.  Did I tell you she was expecting in July?

Well, it really hit home that once this baby comes, we're going to be doing some rockin' & rollin'!

Can you guess what they think the ultrasound shows?  (Ruthann & Sarah, don't let on that you know, ok?)

I had some of this paper left in my stash.  I know it's not Stampin' Up! but I've gotta use what's handy.

I used the 2 1/2" Circle Punch, punched 2, and used my paper cutter to trim the tops off.  Then I used the 1", 3/4" & 1/2" Circle Punches for the wheels.

When my friend gave me the paper, she also gave me a sheet of decorative strips to match.  I trimmed some of those for the scallop trim and the handle.  I also cut the circles for the wheels out of the trim.  A tiny scrap of lace tucks into the carriage for a blanket.

I used the BIG GUY and the Top Note Die for the background.  The white one is trimmed at the perforations.

Then, I was really brave!  I used a Stamp & Write Marker and wrote the words to Rock-a-bye Baby on the card base.

So you see this card Rocks and Rolls!

Card Recipe
Stamps:  None
Ink:  Bashful Blue SU Marker
Paper:  Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, DP from my stash
Accessories:   2 1/2", 1", 3/4", & 1/2" Circle Punches, Lace, Big Shot, Top Note Die

We had a great time at Emmy's birthday party yesterday.  She loved opening presents and eating cake.  It was kind of wild with an excited 2 yr. old Birthday Girl and her 6 cousins!  But it was so much fun!

Enjoy,
Bonnie

Sweet New Baby

I needed a card to celebrate a new baby. I don't have any baby stamps (gasp)! I really need to remedy that!

I started with a card from my Hallmark Deluxe program on my computer. I thought the graphic was adorable. The baby had red hair though and Avery has brown hair. So I got out my Prismacolor pencils and changed her hair color.

I punched the design with my Scallop Oval Marvy punch and used the BIG GUY and punched the large oval from Pretty in Pink to put behind. Both layers are popped up.

The background paper was in my stash. I have no idea where it came from! A piece of SU Pretty in Pink satin ribbon dressed it up and I used a pretty pink brad that was a gift from a friend.

Usually I try to use all Stampin' Up! products. I really need to get that new baby carriage stamp set that will be in the new catalog. I think it would work perfectly for those occasional baby cards.

Enjoy!
