Hoe zou het voelen om als moslima doorheen Antwerpen te lopen? Silke Raats, een 21-jarige scholiere uit Antwerpen wou graag bij wijze van sociaal experiment een maand lang gekleed lopen als een moslima met hoofddoek om zo reacties uit te lokken in haar sociale omgeving.
Het zijn er slechts tien dagen lang geworden daar de reacties zo negatief waren dat Silke Raats er wel mee moest stoppen.
De Vlaamse werd naar eigen zeggen 'overspoeld met vragen'. "Of ik me
had bekeerd, of ik samen was met een moslim, of ik wel besefte dat ik
nooit meer aan een baan zou geraken." Raats zegt vooral geschokt te zijn
door de vele negatieve reacties van haar vrienden en kennissen. "Ik
kreeg meer en meer scheve blikken, ik werd voorbijgelopen en compleet
genegeerd. Ook door vrienden die ik al jarenlang ken en met wie ik in de
zomer nog op vakantie ben geweest."
Uiteindelijk zette ze haar sociale experiment om in een filmpje met de titel '10 gesluierde dagen'.
Naar aanleiding van een onderzoek op Universiteit Gent i.v.m. “reacties
van de omgeving op gedragingen afwijkend van de norm” en een project
rond “jezelf kunnen zijn” bij mijn leerlingen in mijn bijlesklasje, deed
ik de afgelopen 10 dagen een sociaal experiment. Ik deed mijn uiterste
best om een hoofddoek mooi geknoopt te krijgen en postte hiervan een
foto op Facebook. Het resultaat en de reacties van mijn omgeving zijn te

You may wonder what the Kingdom of God might be and willing to see a kingdom of the earth. But come to understand that the Kingdom of God is already here for you and everybody. God has placed its path in front of every human being.
We are all on the road to some destination. Either we want to get somewhere or we do not have any aspirations to get somewhere. But most of us have dreams and really would like to get somewhere. But are our aims trying to get to the right place, having the right things?
On our path to somewhere in the future are we willing to see that there is that outstretched hand of the Elohim, the Most High God? How many of us our willing to feel that God is present out here … working. He is everywhere.
The Kingdom of God is like a teacher and a pastor who became a truck driver …
God now has him on the road, searching for the lost.
He said; “Truck driving is like life in a microcosm, you see people at their best, you see them at their worst.”
He found that God is alive and well outside the walls of the church.
He had to adopt the attitude that the joy is the journey, not the
destination.
“It’s not about where you are or what you are doing, the Kingdom of
God is about getting in touch with God right here and now … 24-7.”

“kingdom” has been used by Christians over the last few decades and he
doesn’t particularly like what he sees. The word has become a kind of
vaguely Christian (or not) catch-all term to describe generically good
deeds that have a connection—sometimes strong, sometimes tenuous—to the
ethical vision of Jesus of Nazareth. Rather than pointing directly to
the biblical vision of a specific King and a kingdom with a specific
people, it often devolves into little more than the baptizing of a
liberal, western, democratic ethic from which Jesus could quite
comfortably be subtracted.

Somehow, this fundamental, basic truth eludes us. We are so focused
on where we and others will end up in eternity that we miss the point

In the second video you shall find also the reason why I often use and prefer to use, the Hebrew pronunciation of the Tetragammmaton as some Jews let me know how it has to be spoken out. So this would be "Jehovah" or could also written as YaHuWaH and spoken out as Jehovah or Jehowah (with a soft w or as in French often called a double v).
Because the sound softly finishes in a light h or a soft 'diftongue' like 'a' as in "Messias", I also prefer the writing with an h instead of the by the Dutch language commission prescribe form without an h, namely "Jehova", also because in other languages 'Jehovah' is often the used written form.

We have to be truly aware that the Creator let us know that "those who call on His Name" shall be saved." (Joel 2:32) to recite, to proclaim, to cry out, speak it out, preach it.
YeHoWaHeh - Yehowhah - Jehowah - Jehovah - Jehova
Mark does point out how God knew that many would going to use the word Lord (Ba-al/Baal/Baali) (Strongs 1168) to denote Him. But that is not how He wants to be known.
Though Mark also points out how in the Talmud tradition found its way when because of the Babylonian time they want to hide the Name of God and just said Adonai (meaning My Lord or My Master) every time they thought of the Name of God. (Again vain tittles.) The preast where still pronounicing the Name but in town the people did not dare to use the Name.
When it was written down on parchment, which can rot, it is strange that it could not be spoken, while it should have been spoken out loudly. The Name is too Sacred to be deformed or hidden; god wanted to have His people and others to know His Name.

We have come in the time that God is taking away the title Lord again. More and more people are finding Gods Name and are becoming aware that they should use that Name. It has become time also that more and more Bible Translations which use the Name of God come into the forefront.
Often we hear people arguing that Jesus did not exist. But that would be the same as saying Alexander the Great, Stalin or Hitler did not exist. You may either like or not like those persons, you cannot neglect the historical evidence that those persons existed and did certain things which shall stay imprinted in human history.
Though less proof is available of certain persons, like Aristotle, Euripides or others than that of Jesus nobody seems to object that those philosophers existed.
Also a strange thing about historical accuracy is that in the Bible several events where predicted and written down many years before the events took place. In worldly writings we can only find details about those prophesied things after they occurred in real life.

Regelmatig komen wij mensen tegen die betwisten of Jezus wel werkelijk bestaan heeft. Alsook stellen zij twijfels bij het neergeschrevene in de Heilige Schrift.
Maar als wij de optekeningen in de bijbel nagaan vinden wij vele voorspellingen, zaken die toen zij werden neergeschreven nog moesten gaan gebeuren, en die toen zij later werkelijk voorvielen nogmaals werden besproken in de Heilige Schrift. Deze voorgevallen gebeurtenissen kunnen ook teruggevonden worden in de wereldse geschriften. Meerdere historische boeken schrijven over personen, oorlogen en rampen die in het verleden hebben plaats gegrepen.
Die wereldse werken halen meestal de voorspellingen niet aan om dan te bevestigen dat zij zijn uitgekomen.
Voor de gekende figuren in de geschiedenis twijfelt niemand over in het zeer ver verleden bestane figuren. Aristoteles of Euripides worden algemeen als grote filosofen aanschouwt. Niemand schijnt te twijfelen aan hun bestaan.
Bepaalde mensen willen echter bij hoog en laag beweren dat bijvoorbeeld Jezus Christus niet bestaan zou hebben maar dat zou het zelfde zijn als te beweren dat Alexander de Grote, Keizer Karel, Stalin of Hitler niet zouden bestaan hebben.
De Joodse man die op 17 oktober -4 is geboren kreeg tijdens zijn leven al veel aandacht en vlak na zijn dood is er zeer veel over geschreven. In de wereldse literatuur van die tijd kan men al veel meer originele documenten vinden dan over bepaalde andere figuren, waarvan iedereen zonder problemen aanneemt dat zij werkelijk bestaan hebben.
Niet alleen kerkelijke boeken heeft men die over Jezus getuigen, maar heel wat getuigenissen van niet-christenen uit de beginperiode zijn er opgetekend. Ook al zijn er heel wat die negatieve dingen over deze 'politieke' figuur schrijven moeten wij Jezus niet afschrijven. Die geschriften bevestigen hoe dan ook de historiciteit van Jezus van Nazareth.
Daarnaast mag men niet uit het oog verliezen dat het ongelofelijke vertellingen zijn die de ronde doen over deze simpele man. Indien er verzinsels werden uitgesproken over hem konden deze ook in die tijd dadelijk weerlegd worden, door dat er zo veel getuigen in leven waren en omdat het om de meest ongelofelijke dingen ging, waarbij zelfs mensen uit de dood opstonden.
Hoe men het draait of keert, bepaalde zaken die in de geschiedenis zijn gebeurt zijn opgetekend bij het gebeuren van die feiten en daarna. In de Bijbel vindt men echter dingen die werden opgetekend lang voor dat de zaken voorvielen. Er werden voorspellingen gemaakt en soms werden zelfs namen gebruikt of woorden die men toen niet begreep of gebruikte. Toen de dingen jaren later in werkelijkheid voorvielen werden zij nogmaals neergeschreven in de Bijbel, maar eveneens in de kronieken van die tijd. als men de wereldse geschriften met de Bijbel vergelijkt komen deze overeen. Opvallend is dat er heel wat kopieën van het Oude Testament zijn gevonden waarbij men de betrouwbaarheid van die kopieën kan nagaan door ze met elkaar te vergelijken en door de ouderdom te onderzoeken. Ook van het Nieuwe Testament kan men meer dan 4000 handschriften vinden (op papyrus of perkament).
De afschriften van het Oude en het Nieuwe Testament overtreffen de wereldse geschriften over die en andere mensen en gebeurtenissen. Nochtans is er geen enkele historicus of classicus die twijfelt aan de historiciteit en authenticiteit van de boeken van Caesar, Plato en andere klassieke auteurs.
Dus welk motief zou er dan nog zijn om te twijfelen aan de betrouwbaarheid van het Oude of het Nieuwe Testament?

Fred Phelps, who believes that the United States is "a sodomite nation of flag-worshipping idolators" is a self-described "Primitive Baptist" preacher fixated on the few Biblical passages that mention homosexuality. but from what we got to see in the documentary he never did use any Sripture passage. He is known for the slogans that he and his ministry use against people he deems sinful; his church is built around a core of anti-homosexual theology, with many of their activities stemming from the slogan "God hates fags", which is also the name of the group's main website.
According the website "GOD HATES FAGS" -- though elliptical -- would be a profound theological statement, which the world needs to hear more than it needs oxygen, water and bread.
All their sites seem to preach a lot of hatred. All of the printing presses, distribution channels and the world wide web were, according to them, designed by God to do two things: first, to be used as a platform for His faithful prophets to preach His word (Yes!), and second, to be a vehicle for the continual hardening of the hearts of the teeming masses of the reprobate. Westboro Baptist Church is based in a circle of houses in a middle-class Topeka neighbourhood. In one house, Phelps raised his family, and eventually the neighbours' houses were purchased, effectively creating a compound. All the houses share a large fenced backyard.
To Phelps' congregation he is "Gramps" and seems to be a sort of god who is the only real prophet of God today, because all the other preachers and organisation would be false prophets.
The followers of "Gramps' seem to have a doomy picture of today and tomorrow but laugh at the world and keep holding marches. WBC has conducted over 45,729 pickets, in all 50 states, in over 500 cities and towns in the 1038 - weeks that WBC has held daily pickets on the mean streets of the for them doomed America. they also seem to find it nice when people are run over by cars. Anny accident that happens to a person is a penalty from God for that person and his family. According to them God owns the SUV’s and knows how to roll every one of them! God uses the cars to run over people, and they are happy that by doing that God shows them they are doing Gods work here on earth.

When I rewatched the documentary this weekend, before going to see the sequel, which shall be screened on Tuesday night on Canvas (VRT - Flemish Television channel 2) to me it looked a very frustrated man who could laugh with others and hide his face behind a façade, full of hate.
I wonder what is true about the accusations from his son Nate Phelps who alleged that, in addition to hurting others in this world, his father used to physically abuse his wife and children by beating them with his fists and the handle of a mattock to the point of bleeding.
Until the mid-1970s, the Phelps family's main income reportedly came from using the children to sell candy door to door for several hours each day. The children were also required to run several miles a day.
In 1994, Phelps was convicted for disorderly conduct for verbal harassment, and received two suspended 30-day jail sentences.

Four years on from Louis's last visit, there are signs of disarray in the Phelps clan. A series of defections of family members has shaken up the church.
