Embossing and Dies

Happy Saturday everyone I hope that everyone is well and  keeping warm its freezing here but thankfully we have no snow at present. Today I thought I'd share a card with you all that I made as a sample for the ladies at the craft group I go to on a Thursday to make this week. They asked to do an embossed card with dies so this is what I came up with. Its a fairly straightforward design as we have different levels of ability in the group.

Card Recipe

I made the A5 cards from a sheet of 300gsm card
Purple card and the smooth white card are both from  Ross Papercraft show
A4 dots embossing folder is Die'sire from Crafters Companion
The medallion design A4 embossing folder came free with my Ebosser
The centre die is Spellbinders from the Moroccan Accents set I bought it in Michael's in Florida
Spellbinder Circle die for the sentiment
Leaf die is Joycrafts
The flower dies are Poppystamps dies
Sentiment is Lili of the Valley Post Mark stamps sadly they no longer have this in either rubber or digi. Such a shame as its a sentiment stamp set I use a lot.
Pearls and ribbon from my stash
Corner rounder used on the bottom of the banner strips

Some of the ladies found matching the strips and  getting then placed evenly a bit of a challenge but everyone got there in the end and everyone got finished in the two hours we have.
Well Michael is going to football this afternoon the first time he's made it this year so I'm crafting and catching up on a couple of phone calls in the warm !! Enjoy the weekend everyone love and  hugs Carole x

Magnolia Do Hickey leaf and swirl die
Ribbon was from Hobby Craft
Resin Flower Melissa Francis
Sentiment LOTV Greetings Postmarks

Sparkle hearts I won in Debra's candy draw thanks Debra they were perfect.
The pearl corner idea I got from the lovely Bev Rochester's blog I thought they were just right for this card. Thanks Bev for the idea. The pearls are from my stash
Sewing Machine and topstitch thread
The Ribbon and Swirl die were the ones I used on their Wedding Invitations.
I used Promarker and Copics as I have yet to find a watercolour card as white as this and wanted a white on white background. I've bought a few different pads but they are always a pale ivory colour if anyone knows of any really good white then please let me know the make.

Well my week started out well yesterday when I met some friends for afternoon tea at Wynyard Hall the weather was perfect for a change and we enjoyed bubbly and tea on the terrace this is the photo the waiter took. It was great to catch up as I'd not seen a couple of my friends since Christmas.

Well  I'm going out shortly to start the shopping for the weekend. Fiona and Martin are coming at the weekend so we are having an informal get together for family and friends on Saturday so they can  meet Miles. We are both looking forward to having Miles in our home for the first time and seeing all our family and friends.

I hope you all have a great week sadly its raining again here today I thought summer had finally arrived yesterday !! Hugs Carole x
