Have A Happy Winter

Connecticut has just been bowled over by a bomb cyclone, a rapidly strengthening area of low pressure. In the area where I live, all the houses went dark – for three days and nights. Throughout Connecticut, about 41,000 energy consumers lost power. And winter is coming. CTMirror tells us there is a stalemate over long-term transportation funding between legislators and Governor Ned Lamont. The battle of the political egg-heads is “about to create an immediate crisis: With $30 million in promised local aid months overdue, fall tree trimming and winter snow removal are at risk.” The recent outage was caused mostly by falling trees that are singularly uninterested in Lamont and tax hungry legislators. The General Assembly in Connecticut has been controlled for the last three decades by Democrats whose reckless spending proclivities have been responsible for much of the budget outages during this time.

The Many Faces Of Hillary Clinton

Some people think Hillary Clinton and her now faltering husband Bill, both products of the Silly Sixties (SS), are too Machiavellian for their own good . Others think Mrs. Clinton has never shed her admiration for Saul Alinsky, the political guru of the SS and author of “ Rules for Radicals ," whose own ideal of a perfect political and social radical was Lucifer, AKA The Devil, to whom Mr. Alinsky dedicated his hand-book on cultural destruction. It’s been a long slog. Her meandering but methodical course has led through hubby Bill, past a few bimboes, through the Secretary of State office by way of  the U.S. Senate, over the smoldering ruins of Benghazi, over the prostrate body...

Progressives And The Unionization Of Tax Dollars

According to a headline on Capitol Report pointing to a story in CTMirror , “Malloy Basks,” Governor Dannel Malloy, two days before the Fourth of July, was basking in the glow of his endorsement by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). When you want a service in the private market place, you buy it. The same holds true in the political market place: When you want the support of a powerful public employees union such as SEIU, you buy it with the prevailing coin of the realm, political favors. Political favors go a long way in politics . In return for political stroking – Mr. Malloy earlier had facilitated the unionization of day-care workers and personal-care attendants for persons with disabilities through an executive order – SEIU turned the floodlight on Mr. Malloy.
