I received this email from Tinko today...
Hi Mike,
My name is Tinko M0NDZ ( LZ3DB ).
Happy New Year, and thank you for your great job for improving the MR...
I've been using v1.85.1 for months practicing WPX mode without any problem. More than 51000 qsos...
But in today's training session I was called from VER20251126 !!! I couldn't believe it... What is that?! And spent more than a minute on this qso !!!
After the 30 minute session, I opened the SCP MASTER database, SCP VER20251126.zip, and found it... This looks more like the database version than the callsign...
But it is coded as callsign and included in SCP, and MR takes it from the database and sends it.... No idea why the version is coded as callsign...
Maybe it is good in MR code to add exception, not to use and send callsign VER20*****..... Or contact Bill, W9KKN, to change the version coding format...
73, Tinko
P.S. From the SCP website...
A version number has been included in all files in the format VERyyyymmdd....
P.S.S. A week ago I was called from M0NDZ !!! M0NDZ - M0NDZ qso... hi-hi..But this is not an issue for me...
Steps To Reproduce
- Given enough QSO's, this version number will appear. Calls are randomly selected from the call sign database.
Expected behavior
As suggested above, MRCE should skip the version record.
Reproduces how often
This is a random occurrence.
Version information
- Morse Runner version: 1.85.1
