Catherine Pooler - Mug Shots...

Hello!

I cannot resist a mug stamp, because IRL I LOVE mugs and it's a good job I have hubby to rein me in, otherwise we would have a bejillion of them.

This great set by Catherine Pooler 'Mug Shots' has gotten so much use since I got it last year. I love pairing it The Rabbit Hole designs Caffeinated sentiments set.

These cards are pretty similar, just a bit of ink blending to anchor the mugs, because they are so pretty they need to shine!

I think the Corgi mug above is actually my fave!

Hope you enjoyed these simple, elegant beauties.

Woven heart...

Hey,

Happy Monday and welcome to August!

July was a hard month and a sad one too, we said goodbye to our family Dog Oscar on Friday, so hard losing a pet, he was the heart and soul of our home.

I have been loving all the paper weaving cards that I have seen around.

So I had a go myself. It is a LOT of work, but actually easy, just time consuming, the results are stunning, as you can see!

I kept it all super simple once it was finished and just added a simple glittery love die-cut.

Don't you just love simple cards!

Love and a Cat...

Hey,

I have friends who are cat people and some who are dog people..

So generally when I am making cards for these people I try and think about what they might prefer, as I tend to use critters / animals / monsters a lot.

I wanted to make a fun anniversary card for my friends who have been married for like a bejillion years! And remembered I have this fun cat stamp by Unity Stamp Co, that I have hardly used.

This was another super simple make, I stamped the cat and the sentiment (I added the Happy Anniversary part), coloured the cat with Promarkers and added a bit of sparkle pen to his bow tie and the heart.

Die-cut it out and voila! Anniversary card.

I love the sentiment, it's pretty true in my house.

Sketch Saturday #532..Fabrika Fantasy...

Hey,

Happy Saturday to you and welcome to the latest sketch for the Sketch Saturday challenge.

Our sponsor this week is Fabrika Fantasy and they are offering 3 digis from their store.

Here's the sketch...

I chose to use Cute Hippos (the version on my card is no longer available, the link is to a newer version).

As this week's sketch is by my bestie Jessie, I thought it was only fitting that I used it to make a anniversary card for her and her hubby :)

I chose purple as my main colour, as I know Jessie loves her some purple LOL. I coloured the stamps and die-cut it out using a stitched circle. I added a heart punch border strip and some enamel dots to fit the sketch. The sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

I was pretty pleased with how this came out.

I can't wait to see what you do with the sketch, but first check out what the rest of the DT have made over at Sketch Saturday.

Challenge ends on my birthday! 28th Sept 7pm GMT / 2pm EST

CASE a Card....Cardkit...

Hey,

Hope you all had a nice weekend? Mine was very peaceful, after the excesses of Hubby's birthday :)

Recently I have been re-visiting my Card Ideas Pinterest board, partly because I want to use more of my enormous stash and also because I want to actually use my Pinterest boards.

I saw this card -
Image courtesy of My Impressions Blog

It was made using the Feb 2016 Simon Says Stamp cardkit - which as you can see from the main photo I totally have!!

I decided to use a different stripey paper and dug out some ancient blue glittery washi tape. It changes the look just a bit and I added a blue enamel dot to the top of the heart - which I punched using a scalloped heart punch.

As the card uses such a straightforward formula and an entire Cardkit at my disposal, I decided to make a variant -

I love both cards, they were super easy to make and I did actually make several variants:)

I did some more fun CASEing over the weekend, so I'll be posting those next week, whilst I am in the UK.

I heart glitter...

Hey,

I love glitter, I know it gets everywhere but I can't resist it.

I recently got a big mixed box of American Crafts glitter pots - all different colours and textures...a new one for me textured glitter and OH how do I love it.

I decided to have a quick experiment session - using Silhouette double sided-adhesive paper, a punch and some glitter.

The hello card was on my desk unused from another project, so it because the base for this little experiment. The 'hello' is from Pink Petticoat.

I punched a heart out of the adhesive paper, peeled off one side and stuck to the front of the card. Then I removed the top piece and added my glitter.

Super simple!

Not only does it look amazing - all that texture - but it is amazing, as the glitter doesn't fall off when you shake the card?!

How is that possible?

Lots more fun to come with these sheets methinks.

Lemon arrives tomorrow - whoo hoo!! I am working from home awaiting her arrival and cooking Curry Goat in her honour!

OWH final stages..

As you all know I make cards for OWH and the current deadline for delivery (including Christmas) is 15th of October.

I have been furiously labelling, tucking and making cards.I have a few more days left of making and then I want to post everything before Lemon arrives on 25th of September.

I thought I would show a few of my latest makes..

Main photo - With Love cards, using a stamp I had forgotten about (more about that later). I embossed the background, die cut the coloured rectangle and coloured the stamp using watercolour pencils!!
I love this technique - the flowers end up looking great with the variation of colour in the petals as you lay down the colour.
It's easy to do, all you need is one of these and some watercolour pencils or Letraset Aquamarkers,  then you colour a little square of colour onto some card and taking the aquabrush apply the colour to your image - easy!
Here's a photo of all the variations I made...

With Love - Watercolours
I've also decided to link to the OWH challenge, with my main card today, it seems only fitting :)

The next set of cards was made using 2 new stamp sets - Teresa Collins Far & Away stamps (for the balloon) and a Hero Arts sentiment stamp set.

Just Saying Hello - brown
I made 3 versions of this card and used different colours for each of them. I used the reverse of journalling cards for the main background, as the fronts are hideous, but on the reverse they have really nice patterns.
Here is a photo of all of them -

Just Saying Hello - all colours
Final card is really simple..just a punched scalloped heart, some papers, a silver sticker and a stamped sentiment/ They came out really well, every single card has a heart punched with a different paper.

You're the best
I am pleased with how all of the OWH cards have been coming out. I'll show you Christmas before I send them, I am particularly pleased with those ones.
