Double Challenge: A-Moose Me...

Hey,

Today I am doing a twofer...

Playing along with this week's CASology cue card -

And joining in the fun at MAWTT with my old teammates, their theme is Heat Embossing.

I had no idea what I should make my Dad for Father's Day, then I saw the great Dad + Me set by Lawn Fawn and had a genius idea...

I die-cut the t-shirt from the Stampin Up Custom Tee set -

Then, I stamped the Moose from the Lawn Fawn set onto the t-shirt and coloured him. I stamped the t-shirt lines onto the t-shirt, not perfectly, I wanted it to feel slightly off, as my Dad's leisure wear can be..dodgy...

I heat embossed the sentiments directly onto the card - EEK!!! Moment of bravado, that I love, but sadly my photo is a bit blurry and it had to leave before I noticed, The sentiments are from the Lawn Fawn set, perfect for my Dad, the biggest pun master ever!

Super simple card to make, but I think it will make my Dad smile.

Snazzymoose continues on..

Hey,

Happy Friday..

This is my last work day in London..this weekend I am hanging with my extended family, before heading home on Sunday.

As you are probably aware since we first started crafting together JT and I have had an 'in' joke about a Snazzymoose...

Cue many, many moose related gifts.

I got some Amazon vouchers for my bday and decided to splurge on the EK Success Moose punch that has been in my basket forever...

I LOVE HIM!!

Before we get to my actual card, lets look at where I started..

I punched the moose out of plain white cardstock -

Then, I smooshed them into my Versamark embossing inkpad and then added different powders and voila! Beautiful Snazzymoose..

I used Ranger metallic embossing powder for the Moose you can see on my card.

I kept the card simple with an American Crafts patterned card blank and an SSS die cut banner, sorry my photo is a tad fuzzy!

So easy to make and I've made a few fun variants using the punch since I made today's card..

Have a great weekend.

Return of the SnazzyMoose...

Hey,

Happy Friday to you all.

Can you believe it is September next week?!

Hubby and I are most excited to be back together again, after my 10 days in London, we are going to be spending some QT this weekend, with each other and friends AND our desks :)

We are off to Mexico in just over a week - can't wait!

Whilst I was in London JT and I told a friend about the origins of a SnazzyMoose and how it has become a theme for random gifts for each other. The story is way too long for a blog post, but needless to say telling the story re-ignited the need for a SnazzyMoose gift.

So I made today's card for the friend who had to endure the 30 minute drunken telling of the story.

He is a Sizzix die and I cut him out of chipboard and then inked him up with embossing ink and covered him with x2 kinds of Ranger embossing powder - Liquid Platinum and Enchanted Gold.

He is absolutely gorgeous in person, all sparkly and pewtery thanks to the powders.

Here is a close-up to try and show you how gorgeous he is..

He will be going in the post this weekend, I hope our friend loves him and appreciates the joke and the rebirth of the SnazzyMoose.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Christmas with the silhouette portrait...

Hey there!

It's been a VERY busy week - we did the biggest launch in my Company's history this week and whilst I am tired, I feel a great sense of achievement :)

I spent yesterday at my desk, getting Christmas cards ready to go into the post. I had x2 special cards I needed to make (can't say for who as they read my blog), so I decided to enlist the Silhouette.

Inspired by JT's card, I wanted to use some of the papers from a difficult stack we both have, that has velvet accents...looking closely it's the same piece of paper - how in tune are we!!

As you can see this card is my main photo today, I added the Silhouette die-cut reindeer (or should I say Snazzymoose?) and used a free stamp for the sentiment.

I love this card, it's so festive, but modern.

The second card uses a Silhouette die-cut card template - I don't often use these templates in their entirety, usually I just use parts of the card.

Cut with a Silhouette Portrait
I added a red liner, so you can see all the die-cuts.

Gorgeous right?! And simple - as it's essentially a bit of a cheat as the Silhouette did all the work! I used the same free sentiment stamp as before.

I love using the Silhouette, it's great and I have stopped beating myself up for not using it all the time. Now I bring him/it out when I'm inspired to - he gets an airing about 4 times a month, which works for me :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

CrabbyMoose To You!

Crab and Moose
I can never explain CrabbyMoose - sorry, but it makes me laugh and it has inspired some very funny cards!

Picture of the day is of a Crab and a Moose card - you can see that I have contrasted the card and the scalloped square. I decided it would be fun to use a patterned paper for the Crab and the Moose. The Moose punch is an old favourite by Kars and the Crab punch is by Martha Stewart (I love her!) from JT for Christmas. I like the random lettering too.

I love them  - here are some close-up shots.

This weekend is Superbowl Weekend and I am a huge NFL fan. Hubby and I are hosting a Superbowl party - complete with JT, her Hubby, my Dad and our friend Jamie.

I will post the Superbowl party food and cards on Monday.

I'm also trying to figure out if I can enter 2 challenges this weekend? Not convinced I can find the time, as I am hitting The Range tomorrow, random shop in Enfield that stocks lots of reasonable craft stuff - look out wallet!
