Reusable Cotton Pads

2018-05-04_09-04-50

After seeing how much plastic that ends up in the ocean as micro plastic, I (or we) are trying to reduce our use of plastic and other things we only use onetime. One of those things are cotton pads for removing make up. I have used cotton yarn, but the pattern said that by using yarn with a cotton and bamboo blend they would be softer to use. I am not using cotton pads a lot, so we'll see what the teenager in the house thinks about these...

This pattern is from a Norwegian book with dishcloth patterns - Kluter by Bitta Mikkelborg. And as you can see they have a leaf motif that was easy to memorize.

Pattern: Rensebladet
Yarn: Various cotton yarn
Needles: 3,25 mm / US 3

The other one is just knitted the same way, but without the leaf motif.

Ice lanterns

Hooray for winter!
Look how beautiful things you can make out of balloons, water and frost :)
We made these this last weekend and I need to buy more ballons so we can make more!
Here's a norwegian DIY on how you do it.

I forgot to blow in some air, so our ballons cracked by itself and we got holes in the bottom, so the edge is not so pretty. But they are beautiful with a candle in so I don't care.
