Altered Clipboard/Chalk board

Hello my friends, today I am going to share with you a clipboard I made. Any old clipboard will do, it does not have to be new.You are going to cover it with chalk board paint, or make your own chalk board paint. Give it several good coats letting dry thoroughly between coats. Once dry, you can decorate it to fit the project you are doing. On this one I made I added vinyl cutout of a horse head and the word notes. It was made for a customer for her to hang on her horses stall door, for vet, farrier or medication records. You could also use in the house, garage, kitchen, any place you need a note pad. My granddaughter uses her's for church gives her something to do while sitting still and quiet. SO the uses are many. If you would like the cut files leave a message here with your email.

A gift for a dear friend.

My dear friend Laurie from LaurieO Designs is so very talented and she amazes me most every day. Anyway I made these for her to put on her horses stalls, and the "L" for her Studio.
I love the Tim Holtz tags so much that I thought instead of the antiquing I changed up the colors and antiqued with blue, green and white. I thought it turned out quite nice.
And since she is a vintage gal I tried the same in this color scheme. And no tag on the last..It's man style...lol
Have a great day everyone!!!! See ya all tomorrow with a new cutting file!

altered arts/book,ATC/ACEO's + goodie

As some of you know I am in love with altered arts, mixed media, collage work and all forms of mail art..Atc's have a special place in my heart, so here is everything you ever wanted to know about an ATC.......

The very basics
As their name indicates, ATC are collectables, a brilliant idea born of the older sports-themed trading cards. The one rule that makes an ATC derives from their origins: the dimensions of the ATC must be 2.5"x3.5", or 64x89mm.
To this rule are appended a couple of conventions. First, an ATC mustn't be sold, only exchanged, as the whole essence of these tiny works of art is about artists meeting (by correspondence or online if need be) and exchanging their works, thus meeting many artists and getting exposed to many personal styles. Second, on the back of each ATC the artist writes part or all of the following information: name, contact information, title of the ATC and number (1/8, 2/8...) if it's part of an edition. By definition ATCs are made in limited numbers, often no more than one of a kind. Unique ATCs are called originals; sets of identical ATCs are called editions and are numbered; sets of ATCs that are based on one theme but that are different are called series. Don't be intimidated by the concept of small editions or originals: very few people are anal about this. What most collectors really want are cards that were made with care. Based on that, numbers are meaningless.
That's all! The above is all you need to know to start making your own ATCs. Common sense dictates that they should be sturdy enough to survive mailing, and of reasonable thickness (unless you specifically want them otherwise. Transparent card sleeves are useful to protect the cards if need be. This is particularly true if they can easily get smudged or if the medium might stick during transport

They can be scrapped, stamped, painted, colored, drawn, done in mixed media, there are no rules....SO anyone who makes an ATC and brings it to the market Saturday will get an extra surprise

So come on have a little fun and step outside the box. Once you try this you will become addicted just like the rest of us.....
Not only is this link one of my favorite places to shop for altered art and ATC supplies but they have a beautiful gallery, as does this gallery..so enjoy the eye candy
Keep in mind ladies this is not my work, it is just here for inspiration, but you can find the link to this awesome site in the post, (link here) These talented artists are just here for our inspiration. And if you visit their sites you see what i mean, so enjoy all their efforts and amazing talents.

Handmade Scrap covers... Sundays project

So give the scrap covers a try, they are fun to do and very addictive.

SCrrapbook cover, handmade

I love to make, scrapbook covers to match the themes of the projects. Or just because it is so hard to find a really nice album that does not cost a fortune, so I make my own from scratch in all sizes. This book is a 8x8, and was done for a friend.
You can add so many personal items to a handmade album, and truly make it personal for that special someone in your life.
I love to use embellies that give a lot of texture and dimension. microscope slides, slide mounts, large flowers, flourishes, rub ons, and anything else your lil heart desires.
Oh, and don't forget to add some stamping and distressing...lol
Remember to have fun with it and there are no rules!!

Lunch pails, altering the weather

I have used a lot of different products on the pail. I believe to much is never enough. Just have fun with it, and any theme is possible.

ALtered Lunch Pails

I am so very ready for SUmmer to get here, I am hoping this project will help get us in the Summer Time fun, cause we not yet had days any warmer the 50 degrees, and that was just 1 day.
Today, Gale force winds, and freeze advisory tonight. But with this sitting on my desk, I can feel the warmth, and the Sun on my face. LOL...ok well in my mind I can do anything

ALtered Letters, ALtered Arts...

This letter "P" I have made for a Neice for her Conformation, and one just like this for a swap on a different forum.
I love to make these altered letters, and when I can incorporate them with my Love for the altered arts and mixed media, its the best of both worlds....

These were my early morning creations. I love to get up early before everyone else, sit with my 3 Labs, coffee, and just pick through things, gaining inspiration from the solitude.

ALtered Arts Projects..

SO how many of you out there love altered arts?? I DO. Boy Is that a passion of mine. I love that there are no rules, and everything matches and works. flowers and more flowers..

Been working on a lot of new projects, one of them being flowers, as we all love them, want them, and gotta have them. SO tell me what you think. They are fairly easy to put together, and the color combos are unlimited. And who does not like flourishes of all shapes and sizes...
