A Bit of Bargello

Evening,
I've recently been playing again with Bargello.
It is an old design used in quilting, but I also used it years ago in Paper Crafting since it is a great way to use up some of those strips of background paper that we all have lurking in our stash.
It can be quite time consuming, especially if you make the mistake of cutting your papers into very narrow strips. Ask me how I know that one lol.
But it is very satisfying when you have achieved a usable panel.
All I did to finish this card was to add a few die cut floral silhouettes and a sentiment strip.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Box of Cards, Just for You, Just Because (Picture Heavy Post)

Evening,

I don't know about all of you, but I have not been feeling particularly creative over the last few days.

I think Christmas prep probably got on top of me, and so today I decided to try and get back into the swing of things by finishing off a stack of cards. They only needed inserts and envelopes, but it is amazing how long it all takes. I keep promising myself that I will do it as I go, but the resolve never lasts, and so I inevitably end up with a pile of cards that need that finishing touch. Amongst the pile were a couple of boxes of cards that I made as Birthday prezzies.

I made a box and then filled it with cards to cover various occasions.
The lid was covered with a panel created from scraps left over from the cards inside.
I used various pieces of patterned paper from my stash and then added embossing using a leafy folder, along with die cut frames and bits and pieces.

The top of the second box of cards.

I also created a matching Birthday card to go with each of the boxes for when they are gifted to someone.

All in all I have had a very successful day with 60 cards finished off to add to my card drawer. Lets hope that it gives creativity the well deserved kick that it requires.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello All, Sorry I've Been MIA

Good Evening,

I'm so sorry that I have been MIA for the last few months. Life overtook me and I ended up being off work for 3 months with stress and depression.

Although I managed to catch up with a bit of crafting occasionally, I certainly didn't feel up to blogging. However since I have managed to survive my first two weeks back at work, without strangling anyone, I have decided to try my hand at a bit of crafty sharing.

It was my Granddaughter Emma's birthday at the end of July, so here is the card that I made for her.
The fabulous Lili of the Valley image reminds me of Emma and her sister Chloe, who love nothing more than a visit to the local Costa when I go over.
It is our treat.
My card was inspired by my friend Fleur who makes the most amazing cards.
I used several Magnolia dies from my stash for the leaves, flowers and banner, along with a ribbon slider for a little bit of bling.
Typically I was late finishing the card, so I decided not to put 'Happy Birthday' on it,
but I did add her name.
Her Mum has decided to put it into a frame in her room to replace a card that I made for her a very LONG time ago, which always gives me a nice feeling.

It's the start of my working week tomorrow, so I will try and remain calm and get through it without resorting to violence lol. You never know I might even manage another blog post, but I'm not promising anything.
It's nice to be back, I hope you missed me.

Stay safe and have a wonderful evening.

Simply Fabulous

Evening,

We definitely need something to cheer us up and make us think of summer today, It has been chucking it down with rain all day.

So I searched through all of my card photos and found a couple of them that I made last year.

They were made using some fabulous rub-ons and background papers.
I used a combination of dies,
along with some twine,
and a fabulous embossing folder.
Speaking of fabulous, Emma had a disco party to go to this afternoon, so she decided to wear the dress that she wore to the wedding on New Years Eve.

We got soaked getting to and from the party, so we enjoyed a snuggle and a film after dinner.
Hope that you have all had a great Saturday.
Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome Baby

Evening,

How did you spend your Bank Holiday? Mine was spent making several special cards for the arrival of my good friends latest Great Grandchild.

Once again I reached for my trusty LOTV images, and then tried to match them up with some bits and pieces from my stash. To be honest that is often how cards evolve for me.

I found the punched square in my stash and felt that it perfectly complimented the slightly old fashioned pram.
I also managed to find some bits of background paper that match the image to complete this card.
I felt the baby on the rocking horse worked well with the kraft coloured die cuts.
Once again I found some co-ordinating background papers,
and added stamped sentiments and die cut buttons and stars.

There was an embossed panel in my stash that inspired this card.
I added a few die cut stars and glossy accents,
along with a die cut cloud for the sentiments.
Of course the card for Mum and Dad had to be extra special, but still started with the die cut heart from my stash.
I felt that the bear with balloons worked best if I fussy cut it before adding it to the card.
I wanted to celebrate all the details of Luca's birth so I die cut the letters from grey card and added them around the heart along with a little sparkle pen and a smattering of glitter glue.

Luca's birth was eagerly awaited by all the ladies at craft classes so we are all looking forward to our introduction.......and mandatory cuddle. Most of the ladies grandchildren have made their way to class at some point in their lives. In fact for many their progress has been monitored throughout Mum's pregnancy so we all feel rather like surrogate Grandmothers. It is so lovely to watch their progress.

Thanks for stopping by.

Galaxy Greetings

Evening All,

I like to give everyone at work a card on their birthday, and we seem to have rather a lot of male birthdays over the next couple of months.

I usually just search through my drawer for something suitable, but as there are so many all very close together I decided that I would make a batch of them that were all very similar.
I found some 12x12 sheets of card in my stash and trimmed a couple of them into squares using a Clarity die.
I mounted each panel onto a square white card, and added my favourite Birthday die cut and some stamped sentiments.
Two sheets of galaxy background paper made eight cards, so that's all the birthdays covered for the next couple of months.
I just need to pop them in to work now so that all the staff get the chance to sign them before they are given out on the appropriate day.
Thanks for stopping by.
