I have canned pear and peach butters but this year I would like to make a very sweet but spicy apple butter. Can you tell me if using Splenda Sweetener will have any effect on the butter or not. I have been looking for weeks but not found any type of spicy apple butter either for canning. Let me know if anyone out there can help me on this.
CAN YOU SUBSTITUTE EGG BEATERS, LACTOSE FREE MILK AND SPLENDA IN THE AMISH FRIENDSHIP BREAD?
Debi, try it. Let us know how it works.
I love love love your site but how do I print the recipes…I cannot find a printer friendly section…thanks…
You can substitute ground flax seed and water for egg in recipes. As food prices soar and disasters multiply, we ought to be putting some aside. Flax is a great alternative to eggs and can be stored easily. About 1 T. finely ground flax seed (blender or coffee grinder) to 3 T. water replace one egg.
You can just highlight the text, copy it and bring it into Word. Then hit Edit, Paste Special, Unformatted Text then OK. Not only will you be able to have the recipe of your choice but you will be able to format into what ever size you wish; 3×5 card, regular paper, make it pretty and put it on a card to go along whatever you cooked as part of a gift, etc. Go crazy!
