The Paper Shelters 5th Birthday Blog Hop

Good Morning Paper Shelter Followers, well we have a fabulous surprise for you its our 5th Birthday over at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and each year we host a Blog Hop so for this one as usual its a 2 week Challenge and both teams will take part.

The Hop is our way of inviting you to join in with us and this one is a  "A Special Birthday" theme, which I know is extremely popular!!!! If you have landed here from The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog  you'll not want to miss out on this one! Our Design Team have worked very hard and are showcasing the gorgeous images available from The Paper Shelter Website and each blog on the hop is offering one lucky commenter a digi of their choice as well as the main prize, details of which are on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot.

Have used the "Unforgettable" image and you will find it here, I printed it onto white card then coloured her with my copic pens, afterwards I used a oval die from Nestabilities to cut her out and a fancy one for the mount out of red card.
The base card is a 6.50"x 6.50" white card with a first mount out of red card, the backing paper is also from the same design set as the Image and you will find it here, on to of this I have placed a hessian ribbon and attached it to the back of the first mount, then placed my mounted image towards the left.
I then created a sentiment with the Tattered Lace die and hung it across the top and in the top right hand corner I placed a red and green ribbon bow and a rose embellishment on top.
From here you will need to hop on over to Anna. and don't forget to leave your comment for a chance of winning your choice of one of the fab digi's available in store.
Hop! Hop! Hop!
Good luck and hope you're enjoying it so far.

Challenge #113 - The Paper Shelter - "Charming"

Good Morning Crafters, I do hope that you are fit and well, and I also hope the weather is good with you, ours keeps changing and we dont know if its Autumn or Spring here in the UK, but oh well what can you expect nothing is what you expect it is it? Anyway this weeks Challenge over on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot is "Charming" which mean you must use a charm on your cards, its not so popular these days as it was a couple of years ago and I suspect you do still have some of them somewhere in your stash I know I do.
Anyway before I show you my card I want to tell you that as usual our very generous sponsors are Veronica and Pedro of The Paper Shelter and they are offering a fabulous prize of $30.

But as always this is providing you have used one of their products on your card, but even if you havent they will still give you 3 digi images of your own choice. The do regularly update their library of gorgeous images, papers and printables and will often have special offers running, so its worth paying them a visit here to see for yourself, and maybe even treat yourself to them.
And now I want to show you what I have been up to, here is my card.

And for my image I have used this gorgeous "See my on Fairy Facebook" and you will find her here, I have printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her. Afterwards Ive used a Nestabilitie die to cut her out and a Deckle edge one for the mount. The sentiment was one I googled on the computer and printed it onto white card then cut it out and mounted this on another piece of pink card.
The main card is a 6"x 6" white card and the first mount is a piece of pink card, the papers I have sued are "Sweet Gardener" and you will find them here, they are also from The Paper Shelter. The first paper is a green background with flowers on and the second is a pink flower one that I have used a Cheery Lynn Doily die on, the third a blue background with a pink and pale blue pattern and this was cut in strips and then pleated across the card and I have used a pink ribbon on the top of it.
The mounted image was then placed in the center and the sentiment was put at the bottom on the right. I then used a piece of the same pink ribbon and created a bow and hung a laptop computer charm from a piece of chain underneath. The finish is the flower that I have used some of the left over paper and punched it out with my retro flower punches then created a flower for the top left hand corner and this has been stuck to the card with silicone glue on top of some punch out leaves.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will go and visit The Paper Shelter Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of the very talented Design Team have created for your inspiration and hopefully you to will want to take part in this "Charming" Challenge.

The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and as I said I used the paper that actually came with the image, and you will find it here, I stuck this on top of some blue card and then stuck it to the base card. I then used one of the Swirl dies from Cheery Lynn and placed them either side of her, and with some of some papers from the Victorian Beauty paper set which you will find here, Ive punched out several flowers and shaped them and attached them to the swirls, in the middles I have dropped some pearldrops, and also popped some in the centres of the other flowers. Good Morning Everyone, as you are probably aware our DT Leader and Owner hasn't been very well now for quite a few weeks and the news is still very sketchy, but we do want to wish her a speedy recovery and hope it wont be to long before shes back to her normal self, she works so hard and we do so miss her, Get Better Quickly Donna we need you. Anyway back to this fortnights Challenge for Bearlymine Designs and is all to do with using "Your Favourite Things" and if you anything like me you have certain things you just can't do without when making Cards and mine I will show you as we go along. This Challenge is being sponsored by the following people:-

Wow there some awesome prizes there again and I know if would be just fabulous to win one of them I just wish is were possible for us to do so. Anyway Ive created this easel card as its one of my most favourite shapes to use.
And Im also led to believe its one of Donna's favourite shapes to, anyway I had the luck to be able use this gorgeous "Tickled Pink" image and her name is "Lolita Kellita" Ive printed her onto white card then used my copics and tria pens to colour her, then Ive used the large Rectangle Nestabilitie Die to cut her out and the they Deckle edged one for the mount. The sentiment is one from my stash and I think its got a really lovely way of expressing the feeling of the season.
The base size of this card is a 6"x 6" and Ive used to mounts in red with one of two papers from Donna's Bearlymine Designs "Winters Swirl" digi set this first paper is a beautiful red background with holly leaves on, on top is a red green and white pattern paper which has been cut into a 5" square and Ive used the holly all around punch set from Martha Stewart, these where then layered up and Ive used a deep cream lace on both with a wide red satin ribbon which has then been attached to the back of this mount.
For the front of my card I then used the large heart die from Cherry Lynn on some red pearlescent card and this was then tucked into the back of the ribbon and lace and Ive then positioned my mounted image on top. For the inside I used my mounted sentiment as a stop this was positioned in the middle of the lace but before sticking it down Ive tucked a further heart shape behind it on the left hand side.
To finish of the front I have created a floral spray with two colours of hellebore's and some holly berries these were attached to the card on top of some punched out holly leaves on some silicone glue.
Ive got to say that this is one of my most favourite designs of cards I love the simplicity of the layering and the lace and ribbon which finishes it of, and the flower sprays brings the whole thing alive. I do hope you enjoy seeing this card and now you've seen my card I do hope that you will go and visit the Bearly Mine Challenge Blogspot and see what the rest of a extremely talented team have created for you and hopefully it will inspire you to take part in this "Your Favourite Things" Challenge.

A Card for Mo's Challenge "Any Holiday or Celebrations"

Good Morning Everyone, hope you enjoy Trick or Treating today its amazing how quickly these months are flying by and tomorrow starts November I just can't get my head around it, anyway have a wonderful day. I am going to hospital later on today to have a varicose vein injected, not really looking forward to that just hope its not as painful as the stripping but we shall see, keep your fingers crossed for me as I have plans to go to the NEC on Thursday and I don't want them scuppered.
Well today's card has been created for Mo's Challenge "Any Holiday or Celebrations" and Ive used this sweet candy cane fairy as a Xmas card and I have printed her onto white card then used my copic pens to colour her, afterwards I used Nestabilitie Die Labels No.1 to cut her out, I then used the same die on some pink pearlescent card for the mount, the sentiment is one of the Pink Gem ones that's been treated in the same way as the image.
The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of pink card and one of two papers from the First Editions two new Christmas Packs "Christmas Treat and "Festive Joy",  the first paper is a white background with hearts and the second paper is a pink background with candy canes on, and this one has been cut into a strip and Ive used the Martha Stewart Cherish Border Punch along both of the edges then positioned it down the middle of my card. I then wrapped a wide pink satin ribbon around the middle of the card and stuck it to the back of the first mount.
I then used some more of the same pink card and one of the Cherry Lynn Doily dies to cut out a circle and this was then stuck to the left and the mounted image was positioned in the centre of the card, and the sentiment at the bottom on the right hand side. To finish of Ive used a white and pink edged Hellebore with two lilies either side in a spray stuck on some silicone glue and punched out leaves in the bottom left hand corner.

Cuddly Buddly's Challenge 13 - "Big it Up!" add BIG Number or Letter

Good Morning Everyone, it does seem strange to be home its been such a busy few days and trying to get back to normal is taking time, and of course we went to pick up our baby yesterday and she was so excited to see us, but now shes feeling a little down and is limping a bit, not sure whats shes done and if it doesnt improve today a trip to the vets I think is called for. Anyway back to this weeks Challenge from Cuddly Buddly we want to see "A BIG Number or Letter" on your cards and its my turn this time to use Kim's own beautiful images and papers and I chose one of the "Eliza and Bro" images called "Birthday Girl" and created a card for our little granddaughter who will be the big "4" next year, you will find the image here in the Cuddly Buddly Webshop.
Ive printed her onto white card then used my copic and tria pens to colour her, then cut her out with Nestabilitie Die Labels 8 and then drawn around the same die to create the mount out of pink card. The base card is a 6"x 6" white card with a first mount of pink card and one of three beautiful papers from Kim's "Cottage Garden, Poppy" digi paper Collection and you will find them here. The first one is a very pretty pink background with daisies on, and on top is a strip of pink card with the second paper a pink and white spotted paper. And with the last one which is a pretty lace pattern I have used one of the Cherry Lynn Doily Dies and stuck it down just under the mount going down the card.
I then wrapped a beautiful piece of white lace around the middle with a pink heart ribbon along the top and stuck it to the back of the first mount. I then positioned my image in the centre and created a badge Sentiment with a large number 4 on my computer in My Craft Studio graphics program and cut it out with one of the circle nestabilitie dies, then used a larger one for the mount. I did use some glitter on the number though it isnt to easy to see. To finish of Ive used some of the left over paper to create the rolled flowers in the top left hand corner which have been attached to the card with silicone glue on top of some punched out leaves.
Now that youve seen my card I do hope that you will go and visit The Cuddly Buddly Challenge Blogspot to see what the rest of the very talented team have created for you and hopefully it will inspire you to take part in this "Big it Up" Challenge this week.

Heres my card for this weeks Challenge:-
Isnt this image beautiful and its called "Little Friends" and I printed her onto white card then used my Copics and Tria pens to colour her, afterwards I cut her out with a Circle Nestabilitie Die, and for her mount I have used one of the Cherry Lynn Doily Die with blue pearlescent card. The base card is a 6"x 6" white card and again Ive used the same blue card for the first mount, then for my papers I have used "Enchanted Wishes" in a blue check and on top is a yellow paper thats been cut into a square and punched with one of my border and corner punch sets from Martha Stewart.
This have been layered up and then I used a beautiful piece of lace around the middle and attached to the back of the first mount, I then punched out a 8"x 8" square from White pearlescent card for the whole thing to be mounted on, once this was dry I then mounted my image in the center and created a tag with one of the "Enchanted Wishes" sentiments and at the bottom I used a circle one with a lovely sentement on again.
To finish of Ive used several different sized roses for the spray in the top left hand corner, and this was attached to the card with silicone glue and punched out leaves, I also used some stickles glue on them to make them sparkle. Now that youve seen my card I do hope you will pop over to the Cuddly Buddly Challenge blog and see what the rest of the very talented team has created for you and Im sure it will inspire you to take part in this weeks Challenge "Add a Tag".
