~ Merry Christmas ~

Hello there blogging friends!

Long time no see! My apologies! It was a busy summer and fall and blogging seemed to have slipped away from me with all the fun things going on!

Thought I’d pop in with a little Primcats Christmas!

Christmas in the living room ~

Oh how I love this time of year!

I added the draped Cheesecloth and garland to the ceiling this year and I really think it set it off.

IMG_20131116_160040_897

So warm and cozy in the living room.

IMG_20131112_220507_807

Lights all aglow.

Here is how I did the cheesecloth.

Just stapled it to the wall.

IMG_20131112_211211_234

And then stapled the greens on top of that.

IMG_20131112_215919_529

Tada!

IMG_20131112_215929_825

Really frames it all!

IMG_20131112_220657_219

I really love how this turned out this year.

I may or may not be back with more. Time will tell!

Merry Christmas!

Hi Friends,

While my phone camera and I are still in a giant argument… I did manage to get a few half decent pics of the living room to share. Sorry some are so out of focus, but it’s the best I can do.

Merry Christmas in the living room.

Primcats Homespun Candy Cane Tutorial

Hi Friends,

Thought we would take a look back at my homespun candy canes and how to make them. Enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I’m going to show you how to make these cute little homespun candy canes.
IMAG1973
You need:
Plastic Candy Canes
Fabric
Hot glue gun
Embellishments: Cheesecloth, Sweet Annie, Bells
So we start with this…
IMAG1712
And some fabric…
IMAG1710
Rip fabric into 1/2 strips then hot glue onto the end.
IMAG1715
Tuck end corners into the first wrap and then just keep wrapping.
IMAG1717
End it the same way you began… with a dab of hot glue.
After many hours… you will have a bunch of wonderful Candy Canes and a worn out cat from stealing all your ripped up strips of fabric.
IMAG1719
Poofie says “Phew, Mom. That was exhausting. Lets nap now.”
IMAG1728
Awwwww… sweet little kitty!
IMAG1731
And wala… candy canes.
IMAG1733
IMAG1734
If you want to dress them up… I did some with sweet annie and cheese cloth, though I am severely allergic to Sweet Annie I know my prim friends love it so all my sweet annie ones are leaving, or have already left here.
Achoo!
IMAG1971
They are so cute though. Wish I wasn’t allergic!
IMAG1973
Wrapped up and ready to sell and gift!
IMAG1975
You can also add bells. Super cute too!
These are great as bowl fillers, jar fillers, ornaments and even gift toppers.
Have fun with it!
Until next time…
Oh Twiggy Tree, Oh Twiggy Tree…
Hi friends,
I hope you all are feeling fat and sassy after your Thanksgiving dinners yesterday! I sure am!
I know so many of you will be spending today putting up your trees so I wanted to do a repost of my song, Oh Twiggy Tree from last year.
I put all my trees' up last week and 2 of them had to have lights replaced so again I suffered the pain of the Twiggy tree! I hope you all fair better than I did!
Lets look back... to November 2011
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Friends, I’d like to sing you a song… a song about Christmas pain and misery.
A song I know so many of you can relate to…

Yesterday I spent 6.5 hours removing a single strand of tied on lights, straightening thousands of little pokey twiggy branches and relighting a German twig tree. It inspired the following song… written my me.

Sung to the tune of Oh Christmas tree…

Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Your branches cause such misery.
Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
You poke and stab and make me bleed.
I’m wearing sleeves and rubber gloves,
My arms are scratched into little nubs.
Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Your branches cause such misery.

Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Such frustration you do bring me.
Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Every twig must be just right.
The anger builds in me with light.
For crooked twigs won’t hide at night.
Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Such frustration you do bring me.

What do you think? Oh I know anyone who’s ever put one of these German twig trees together and lit it knows that this song is so true. LOL! And it only took me 3 hours of 6.5 to write that. :) I sang it to Mr. Primcat when he got home. He was cracking up.

From this hot mess…
IMAG2488

To two rows straightened and lit…

IMAG2503
To finished!
IMAG2504

Baby Bear took my spot as soon as I got up.

IMAG2505

Perched atop the biggest firkin I have ever seen. I bought the firkin at Goodwill for 7.99 ages ago and  Rachel at Somewhere in the Middle, so kindly made pretty for me with a redo so I could use it as a Christmas tree stand. My new Christmas nemesis, twiggy tree, sits atop it in the kitchen and ready to be decorated!

IMAG2508

I still have so much to do, especially after wasting an entire day straightening that tree! Gahhhhh!
So I better get back to it! Now go back up to the top… and turn on the music and sing with me won’t you…

Oh Twiggy tree, Oh Twiggy tree,
Your branches cause such misery.

Until next time…

Christmas is coming!

Hi Friends…

A little sneak peek at the first of the Primcats house decorating!

2012-11-15_19-36-39_509

And of course… all those tree’s came from the Goodwill! $2.00 each! Yay!!!

The butter mold in the middle, my first, came from Simple Goods. And the brown Jug came from Black Cat Primitives. Thanks Carolyn!

The dining room is piled high with boxes upon boxes of Christmas and I’m really ready to turn this place in to a primitive winter wonderland!

Change is a coming!

From this….

2012-09-09_14-47-58_671

I put up with half the lights out all fall!

2012-09-15_12-53-19_6022012-09-09_14-50-00_494

To this…

I wonder what I’m going to do over here?

If you need me this weekend you will find me decorating away! Feel free to come over have coffee and hang garland with me!

Until next time…
