Monday Memory (123/365)

SUBJECT: Sunset

9 years ago, in late April through June, we spent many evenings and weekend afternoons at these Little League fields.

Now, the Khoury League building and concession stand has been torn down. The fields are deserted. No one plays baseball in this location anymore.

It makes me sad looking at the abandoned space where MonkeyBoy used to play ball. It brings home the fact that my children are no longer little. Times change and things are not what they used to be.

New Roof (104/365)

We had a new roof installed today - well, partial, they are coming back tomorrow to finish.

HH had shingled the roof back in 2014 - recently though, we had some leaks appear in SD's newly plastered bedroom ceiling and in the kitchen. Try as we might, we could not figure out where they were originating. We decided to suck it up and hire some professionals to tear it all off, repair any boards, install a barrier and a roof vent and lay down new shingles.

Overall, it wasn't as expensive as we anticipated, but still...I hate spending that kind of money.

Yesterday the Sun, Today the Moon (079/365)

More blue skies and sun today. So of course I guilted myself into doing yard work.

I cleaned out the front flowerbeds. Now that they are clear, I see that I need to paint the trim on the porch.

I know I am going to be plenty sore tomorrow just from the flowerbed clearing, so I'm not feeling bad about not painting today.

In other news, I upgraded my phone to the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. It has up to 100x zoom (or "stalker mode" as I like to call it)

I only went with the 30x for the moon this afternoon.

Looking forward to see what else this phone camera can do!

I had to drive to the office to pick up some work from home equipment - a 3rd monitor, keyboard and headset.

While I don't miss the commute, I do miss seeing the morning and evening skies during the drive.

I got to see a nice one tonight.

Branches, Clouds and Power Lines (033/365)

The Husband and I are officially old people.

We left the house to eat before 5pm so we could miss the crowds, get back home and go to bed early.

He went to bed. I let the dogs out.

They escaped the yard and SD, DQ and I had to go searching for them.

After about 15 minutes SD and I located them about 2 blocks away. She shoved them in the car and we brought them home. They showed no remorse for their behavior.

A wild Friday night!

I’m so glad the workday is over...the bad thing is that now it is almost dark when I leave the office.

I did get to appreciate the remainder of the sunset on my way to the car, so that’s one good thing today.

I’m still pretty crabby about it being Monday though.

The thing I don’t like about falling back is that when I leave the office at 5 pm it is usually well on the way to being dark out.

Luckily for me, I am on the 7:30-4:30 Monday-Thursday and 7:30-1:30 on Friday this week. This means I get to still see the light all the way home.

I kept my eyes on the road.
