Alex's birthday and Greg's Valentine

Hi all, here this evening with a birthday card for my lovely niece who turned 16 yesterday. Hard to believe, it feels no time since she was a wee tot! I had to do a last minute addition of the heart border as I cut my base panel of pink totally wonky and could not get it straightened, and that kinda threw my placement of the silver 16 so it looks more squished than I had planned!  She a Valentine's Day baby, so there's always a heart or two on her card.  Stamp from Lili of the Valley, coloured with polychromos.

And this is Greg's Valentine using a real oldie Whipper Snapper stamp.  I had gone on the hunt through my stash for a pack of red card and came across a pack of kraft card that I had absolutely no recollection of buying! The love die is from Penny Black.

As you like it - cute or elegant - I'd say 90% of my stamps are cute so an easy choice for me!

We've had nothing but rain all year so when a sunny day coincided with a day off work, we treated ourselves to a wee trip to the beach and fish'n'chips by the sea. It was absolutely Baltic though, and snow on the Antrim Hills on the way up, definitely not a day for a paddle! It must have been a very rough high tide as the beach was covered in sandy foam (and not a sinner on it but ourselves!)

Happy Christmas!

Hi all! Hope you are having a lovely Christmas! We had the usual fabulous feast in Mum's (and back today for the leftovers yummmm) so we're well stuffed!!! Can hardly believe that's it done and dusted for another year, though I'm off work now till the 5th so a nice long and much needed break from work!

I managed to get all my cards made in time (and hopefully posted in time too!) Didn't get a pic of all the variations but they were all from a Penny Black set, and all done on a production line - some evenings I'd be stamping, some colouring, some making backgrounds and then finally sticking them all together!

Christmas Kickstart #105 - I wasn't organised enough to play with Jo's challenge all year so I'm glad to be able to join in with her last one of the year!
And finally, here's a wee pic of Molly with her prize Christmas present - I'm sure the squeak can be heard across the Atlantic so the sooner she 'kills' it the better!

Think Pink!

We've had a wild couple of days with Storm Amy passing by, but thankfully it wasn't as bad as Storm Eowyn earlier this year - still plenty of trees down and flooding in parts but I think the worst of the rain missed us.  i love how storms are named nowadays, it certainly makes them more memorable!

I'm back with another one of my little carolers, this time in pink. I hadn't intended to add the tag in the corner but it's covering an oops from my ink pad and the snowflakes are covering a splodge from my sparkle pen too!  They do kinda hide the circular stencil I used though.

As You Like It - square or not - I used to make A6 sized cards but always struggled to cut my base layers straight, so getting some square dies and going down the square card size was a godsend for me!

Here's a wee pic of Molly post-walk, not looking too impressed with getting caught in the rain!

A three-fer!

Here's 3 cards for the price of one LOL!

I made a card for my Aunt Jean, liked how it turned out, so amended it for my card to my sister, and then Mum was looking one for her friend (also called Ruth) for her 80th.  It's not very often I'll make cards virtually the same but figured I'd get away with it as none of them were likely to see the other's cards!

My image is an LOTV stamp, coloured with polychromo pencils and then popped up on foam pads.  I've also added some splatters to the background with silver metallic paint.  For the numbers, I stuck an extra set together to make them a bit stronger and then covered them with gloss and lots of glitter.

We've had a glorious few days with wall to wall sunshine and temps kicking 30 degrees - a nice change as we're usually on the wrong side of the Jetstream and miss all the sunny weather!  Molly was a nightmare though, no matter how much shade we created in the garden she'd find the sunniest hottest spot and cook there until we chased her into the house! Here's a rare moment of her in the shade... Back to normality tomorrow though as it looks back to usual and rain due.

Ruth's birthday card #1

So this is card #1 for my sister's BIG birthday, requested by my BIL.

I thought for ages and ages what I could make and then the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches made me think of birthday candles.  I knew I had some digital images of candles from Lili of the Valley, so all I had to do was print some out. Easypeasy. Right? WRONG!!! Every time I printed them they were too small.  I must have printed them maybe 7 or 8 times - each time I'd start colouring and cutting them, only to realize they were still too small, so I'd have to go back and edit the images to make them longer. Of course I turned my laptop and printer off every time in between LOL.  I think I spent 8+ hours making this, good job I don't charge by the hour!

Ah well it was good exercise climbing the stairs to the printer and it's done now and I do like how it turned out.

Haven't shared a pic of Miss Molly for a while, so here she is on a recent trip up the beautiful Antrim Coast road.  She absolutely LOVES the beach, the more smelly seaweed on it the better!

Embossing 2 ways

Hi all!  I seem to be in a blue phase at the minute, I need to get a different colour palette going LOL

First up is this little sailing boat from Penny Black - coloured with polychromos and popped up on foam pads. I've used a new slimline embossing folder that I thought would kinda work as the sea and added a few metallic paint splatters to give a splashy feel.

Penny Black Saturday challenge May - monochrome or anything goes

AAA Birthday #73 - any birthday

Cardz for Guys #371 - body of water

This one is similar to one I made a while back, using this pretty Altenew flower stamp. I used the same embossing folder in the background along with a few white dies to use up some leftover white card.

Cut it Up #329 - so sorry

As You Like It - - soft or bold colours? - well, it depends what I'm making! For sympathy cards I definitely think more subtle colours work best

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - beautiful blooms

And just for some brighter colour!... Here's a wee photo of my lovely Rhododendron - it usually gets hit by the frost or rain, but we're enjoying a lovely sunny dry spell this past couple of weeks so it's looking fabulous this year!!

Happy Easter

Woops I kinda fell off radar there, can't believe I haven't posted since mid-February!! I have made a few cards but forgot to take pics, but I'm determined to do better and get back into the swing of blogging!

So here's my Easter card, just made them all the same.  Hard luck if you love that little bunny - he's an oldie from Eat Cake Graphics and no longer available.  Coloured with polychromos and clear gloss and glitter added to the egg.  Wouldn't it be fab to get an Easter egg half your size ... closest I've seen is this one from Hotel Chocolat but finances didn't permit LOL

Snippets Playground #504 - I've lots of snippets on this card - my bunny was small enough to stamp on a wee scrap and the white flowers and sentiment were cut from the leftover bit after cutting my base to size.

And just because it's been a while, here's a pic of Molly just back from the groomers, all fresh and white and lovely. Doesn't stay that way for long!

Mum's birthday card

Hi all, well that's Christmas done for another year!  Doesn't it just fly by, can't believe it's nearly back to work time after being off for a fortnight. We've had a chilly spell this past few days, I don't mind a skiff of snow but hate it when it melts and freezes - no good for a wee dog who likes her walks and 2 slaves in danger of breaking hips 🤣!

Anyway, I'm here to share mum's birthday card using a new Lili of the Valley stamp - I love their images as most of my enjoyment from card making is actually the colouring in!

Coloured with polychromos; sparkle added to the flame, clear gloss to the cherries and chunky glitter to the bunny's tail.

Baby card for Patsy

I think baby cards are one of my favourite type of cards to make, and made easier now I know how to personalise it with my printer instead of having to cut or stamp all the words!  (In case you're wondering, her name is Irish and pronounced eefa) This little baby image from Lili of the Valley is an old fave - coloured with polychromos and a wee touch of clear gloss added to the lettering on the label. I managed to find a scrap of pink card for the die cut hearts the same shade as my sentiment, one of those little things that just makes you happy!

Andrea's Birthday card

Hi all, I can't believe it's been over a month since I last blogged.  I have made a few cards (forgot to take pics) but my mojo is sorely lacking so there hasn't been a lot created!  I'm blaming the weather - our summer so far has been rubbish!  I think we had 3 or 4 days of shorts weather ( which I spent fence painting!) and since then it's been fleeces and raincoats!  Awful that it's almost mid-summer's day and we still have the heating on!

Anyway, here to share this card I made for my sister-in-law.  I bought a few sets of these LOTV stamps in the sale, so you'll be seeing more of them, they're always a pleasure to colour.

Leaving card for Ryan

Hi all. I'm here this windy old evening to share a card for a work mate who has a new job with a company who makes films for the farming community.  I don't think I have any farmer stamps in my stash but figured these critters from an old MFT set would be perfect...

Coloured with polychromos and the pig and chickens popped up on foam pads.  Grass and cloud stencils for the background.

Addicted to Stamps #465 - die +/or stencil

As You Like It - cute or floral.  Looking through my stash I do have quite a few floral stamps, but they're definitely well outnumbered by my cutest ones!

Allsorts #775 - for the love of animals

Miss Molly is fast asleep on the sofa as I type here.  So in her usual fashion of looking not one bit comfortable (and very unladylike LOL)....

Happy Easter

A very happy Easter to you all!  We've had the most glorious sunny spring day, and I'm delighted that the clocks moved forward today too! You definitely feel more like getting up and doing stuff when it's brighter outside!

My Easter cards were all a variation of this one, not a stamp or ounce of colouring in sight!  My cute bunny die was a purchase from Creative Depot (I think) a while back.  These were all cut with shiny silver card and then I added loads of chunky glitter to their sweet bunny tails.  The background embossing folder is from an old Simon Says Stamp kit.

I haven't shared a photo of Molly lately, so here's a silly one of her sitting on the stairs.  She perches her butt on one step and then her feet are on the one below.  Doesn't look one bit comfortable!  Daftie.

Greg's Christmas and Mum's Birthday cards

Well that's Christmas over and done with for another year!  We had the usual gathering and family feast down in Mum's... dinner always tastes better when someone else cooks it haha 😜.  I'm off work now till the 4th and so looking forward to recharging my batteries, clearing out cupboards and wardrobes, scoffing all the chocolates and, of course, a few movies in my PJ's!!  I'm also hoping to get time for some colouring classes, so we'll see how that goes!

Anyway I've a couple of cards to share this evening.  Last card of the season was as usual for Greg.  I made variations of this for most of my cards, but had to add a little Molly to Greg's.

Simon Says Stamp Monday - let it snow
Allsorts #760/1 - cold and ice

And this is Mum's birthday card, very pink! Flowers from Altenew and I think the dies were from Creative-Depot; gold metallic paint splattered for the background and also to colour the butterflies.  I fussy cut the flowers and popped them and the main panel up on foam pads.

Snippets Playground #470 - anything but Christmas.  I don't get to play with the Snippets challenge as often as I like so I'm pleased to get this one added.  Lots of snippets on this... the butterflies and the diecut background (which is 3 small panels) are all cut from leftover white card
Word Art Wednesday - annual blog hop

And finally, here's a wee pic of Miss Molly.  Despite only being a good girl some of the time, Santa did bring her a lovely cosy winter coat, a squeaky Christmas tree and pressies from her Aunties and Uncles!  The doggy chocolates were a definite big hit! We were pleasantly surprised that she didn't bother with the tree, decorations or presents, a bit of a initial sniff and that was her happy!

Ryan's birthday card

Hi all, back again, and now the darker evenings are creeping in I'm determined to get back into my cardmaking!  And I mean it this time 😉

I've dug out this oldie from High Hopes, he's always a pleasure to colour.  I inked in a touch of green for the background and then stamped over it with this lovely burlap stamp from Gummiapan that doesn't see ink often enough!

And here's a wee photo of Molly as I haven't shared one for a while.  She absolutely LOVES balls and will steal any she comes across , so she was delighted to find this one when we were out for a walk.  Unfortunately for Molly it was actually a potato!!  One ball she didn't bring home 🤣

Lots of Thank Yous!

Hi all!  Sorry I've been in the missing list for a while ... A combination of COVID finally catching up with us (and totally flooring me), a major lack of mojo and a blogging break, and a week's holiday thrown in for good measure!  But in the mix was a wee order for 60 Thank You cards, which I have to confess was a bit of a struggle!  I couldn't face making 60 the same so made 4 batches.  Apologies in advance for the extra long post!!

First up are made with my lovely floral stamps from Penny Black.  I added some pale blending to the background in various colours though it doesn't show in the photo.  Die is an oldie from Gummiapan.  Flowers coloured with polychromos and popped up on foam pads.

Penny Black Saturday June - anything goes
Daisy Chain challenge #75 - no designer paper
Allsorts #733 - blooms, bees or butterflies
Fab'n Funky #575 - use a sentiment

Next up uses a real oldie from Neat & Tangled - i always find him difficult to colour which is probably why he doesn't get inked often!  I have a bit of pale stencilling and some splattered orange metallic paint in the background, not sure where the dies are from, possibly Creative-Depot.

Another Penny Black stamp for this batch, probably the quickest made as there was no faffing about and no fussy cutting!

And lastly, and 100% inspired by the MFT Design Team! ....

And just to finish, a wee photo of Molly at Waterfoot beach during my week off, as per usual refusing to look at the camera.  And what a week it was ... wall to wall sunshine with neither a coat nor umbrella in sight!!
