Notebook

Image
One of my favourite things to make or alter as a gift is notebooks and I've used an  Ike's Art  image for the cover.  The background is distress oxide inks sprayed with water, once dry I have sprayed it with pink dylusions ink spray.  I'm rather late to the party on these ink sprays but I am completely and utterly in love with them.

Art Journaling Panda's

Image
This was a double page I created for the progressive challenge over at Ike's Art Facebook group.  I really enjoyed this one...it all just felt natural and organic when I was making it.  I couldn't help but put a spin on the colour of the panda and the words.

This is the final lot of mass produced cards for me...I've used images from  Hobby Art

Christmas Traditions.

Image
It's all about Christmas Traditions at  International Art & Soul  so I am going to explain the tradition behind this creation and hope I don't bore you all too much. I decided to make a Christmas Wreath, I've used pearlescent card and die cut millions of poinsettias, I've added gems for stamen and some arctic white sparkle medium for snow.  Now on to the traditions bit. There are two possible origins of the Christmas wreath and I will talk about both here. Ancient Greece and Rome  Members of the Greco-Roman society would hand make circular wreaths from twigs, fruit, leaves and flowers to wear on their heads in a similar way to a hat.  The wreath symbolized the rank, occupation, status and achievements of the person wearing the wreath.  They were also used to crown victors for example a Laurel wreath was used to crown an Olympic champion. Christmas in July

Image
This is tricky for me.   Ike's World Challenges  have the theme of Christmas in July and this would normally serve as a reminder to me to keep ploughing on with Christmas cards but at this point I've made them.  I had an awful lot spare last year and therefore haven't really made any this time around.

Father's Day Scrapbook.

Image
Well despite thinking this scrapbook would never get finished I have indeed finished it. The layouts consist of the National Road Run and the smaller Road Run we do locally.  Be warned these layouts have a LOT of tractors.  My photos are not the best either, I should have taken photos before I put them in the plastic sleeves really.

Killerton

Image
It always amazes me that no matter how many times I go to killerton I still find a route to walk that I haven't walked on the fifty times I have already walked there.    IT was hot, really hot but I loved walking under the trees and enjoyed the fact that most people stick to the formal gardens so it was quiet and I got see plenty of wildlife which for me is not just a bonus but a highlight.
