Isn't she gorgeous? And such a joy to colour! My mother has a strong aversion to the colour green, so when making Christmas cards, I always like to have at least one in a non-traditional colour scheme for my parents. I thought this would do nicely!

New challenge time over at The Paper Shelter, and this week's theme is Is it a bird? Is it a plane?, or in other words: Things that fly.

So, I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to vampires. They turn in to bats (or wolves!) and fly around, and they most definitely do not, ever, under any circumstances sparkle! And as my son-in-law-to-be is rather terribly fond of vampires, I decided his birthday card should probably feature one.

You know, it's kinda nice to be able to use Halloween images outside of the month of October! Especially as here in the UK sending cards at Halloween isn't much of a thing. In this case, I used the vampire from the Three Halloween Monsters pack. And do you see that cute little bat? It isn't actually a bat! It was a leftover piece cut out of the scrollwork on my daughter's wedding invitations. It just looked so perfectly like a bat that I saved all the pieces for future use as such.

The new challenge over at The Paper Shelter this week is add a tag! I always like using the LotV tag stamp sets for this prompt - one of the first stamp sets I ever bought! I paired them with the brand new, adorable Lotus Fairy, and had fun adding flowers and bling. A shame I didn't have any lotus flowers, but I found one that could pass for a lotus if you squint enough... ;)

Our December Anything Christmas challenge is now up over at Sweet Stampin'!

I simply had to make a card with this fabulous Moose digi from The Paper Shelter for my daughter. This will be the first Christmas she's not spending with us, which is sad, but unfortunately she can't get the time off work.

Some gorgeous Maja design papers in the background, a LotV sentiment and a die-cut snowflake to finish it off, and it's ready to make its way down to Bristol.

I used some sparkly gems on my Christmas card, featuring the Christmas Decorations digi. If you like the retro style of the digi, it's also available in the Christmas ladies bundle, which has a few more vintage/retro style images inside. I love this set, and have used the images several times each already.

This week's challenge is a fun one. We're looking for you to take an image and alter it in some way. for my card, I decided to take the funky Cool Skater, and crop the image, so as just to have the girl looking over her shoulder to make a very CAS card.

The light wasn't great when I took the picture, but the card is a lovely turquoise, and I coloured her to match, then added a sentiment to finish the card. It's not often I go this CAS (to be honest, white space scares me, lol!), but it's good to go outside your comfort zone from time to time, I think.

Because Christmas is approaching rather faster than I'd like, I used the fab It's Cold Out There for my card, along with some pretty Maja Design papers, and a handful of embellishments in complementary colours (if you look carefully, there's a button on the tulle flower!). I really love blue/white/kraft as a colour combination, especially for Christmas!

Yes, it's that time again. the time were some of us (ok, definitely me, don't know about you guys...) look at their stack of cards ready for Christmas and realise that instead of the towering stack we were expecting, there are only two... Oops!
